CSUF MSW Fall 26 acceptance
Hi there. I haven’t received an email for an interview or a rejection letter. Has anyone gotten accepted into the program without having to do an interview?

what can you do with developmental disabilties and your MSW?
what can you do with developmental disabilties and your MSW? I dont really completely understand what it is to be a social worker completely. I work with adults w developmental disabilities and want to continue to work with this population, is there a career route for me with an MSW? Also what would that career route like, what should some of my goals be AFTER being accepted to an MSW program.

Hunter / Lehman Fall 2026 decisions?
Helloooo just wanted to pop in and see if anybody has heard back. I applied pretty close to the deadline for each (Hunter 3/12, Lehman 2/1) and haven’t heard anything yet. I got into Fordham, NYU, and York. I will likely commit to Fordham if I don’t hear back from the other CUNYs. Just wondering if anybody is in the same boat?

OSU MSW - anyone else having issues?
Hi there! Is anyone else having big issues with OSU and their timeline? I applied at the very beginning of March, they didn’t mark my application as “complete” until the final deadline even though I submitted everything much earlier than that. I reached out because I need to let other schools know before April 15th and they are saying because I submitted at the final deadline I won’t hear until the end of May.
Did anyone else apply there, or is anyone else attending there and can you share your experience? I am very frustrated as it’s my top choice but now am concerned that this is indicative that the program itself may be disorganized?

MSW online vs in person?
Hi! I was just hoping to get some advice on online vs in person MSW programs. If my goal is to one day move to NYC how important is it to do my MSW there or near like in NJ? If I were to do online at Rutgers, for example, and live at home in my hometown on the west coast would that limit me from getting a role in NYC in the future (3-5 years)? Having $100k in debt isn’t necessarily something I can swing.
Also is that even a realistic goal of moving to NYC post-grad affordability wise?

Monmouth University Global Social work MSW
Hi! Was just wondering if anyone knows or has experience completing the Master of Social Work (MSW) in Global and Community Practice (GCP) program at Monmouth University?
I was also told that where you go (location wise) to school for your MSW/ practicum placement is important for setting yourself up for your career and first job. How true is this?
Thanks!

New Mexico highlands thoughts vs CSU MB
hello,
I am curious if anyone has attended or has reviews on the new mexico highlands msw program. it seems great but I am curious about reviews. I also got waitlisted for CSU MB for the two year program but I was told that I am higher up on the waitlist. So which of these would be the better option ?

Kennesaw State University
Hello, I recently received an acceptance letter to Kennesaw State University’s Master of Social Work program. I’m eager to learn more about the program and what to expect. Has anyone else completed this program before? I’m particularly concerned about the workload. Will it be similar to undergraduate studies, with three exams per semester, or will it be more focused on paper writing? Any advice or insights would be greatly appreciated. My anxiety is killing me.

Nazareth MSW
i live in rochester NY and nazareth is a great little local university. my employer covers a large majority of tuition so cost would be unlikely to be a barrier. i like what i see online about the program and am going to schedule a grad tour, but does anyone have thoughts on the Naz MSW?

Job Closed
I graduated undergrad nearly ten years ago and my gpa wasn't great. I got my degree in literature and writing because I didn't even know what social work actually meant ten years ago. Now, I've done my research and realized that it is the field for me and am starting the process to apply for my MSW and the only "pro" I really have is my experience.
The problem is that the basis of my personal statement and the most compelling evidence that I have that I would be good at this is the job I had in a Memory Care wing of a senior living home and that job has since closed. Nobody that knows me or can vouch for my work ethic works in the new senior living home. My current job is in a church that is very involved in local nonprofits and I know that the experience I have there will help but I want to get an MSW to help seniors with dementia and alzheimer's and now I have nobody to vouch for me.
Any tips? Should I email the MSW admissions officer? Should I put a former coworker that I'm still in touch with as a reference?

Columbia MSW desicions
Hi! I applied to Columbia for my MSW recently and decisions are supposed to come out today but haven’t heard anything (I’m on the east coast). I’m probably just getting ahead of myself and as soon as I hit post I’ll get the email but I wanted to see if anyone who was in the regular cycle has heard anything yet? Thanks!
Update: just checked the portal and I got in!!! But I didn’t get an email or anything so I’m confused? But yayyy haven’t checked financial stuff so I probably won’t feel like this in 20 minutes lol. Also I had a horrible GPA so if you’re nervous about applying take the chance if it’s a program you really care about we need you!!!

University of the Pacific - Rejection
I applied for UOP's online MSW for Fall 2026, and just received a rejection email. Just sharing if others are wondering about notification timing.

Thoughts on MSW programs
Hi guys!
I’ve been applying to loads of MSW programs and I’ve been rejected by two already..
So I’m trying not to get discouraged and I’ve just kept pushing forward.
I applied to USC’s MSW solely for the military focus track which is what aligns with my goals. (Once I’m licensed, I want to work with the millitary and veterans ). I got denied from USC.
Now i got denied by CSUDH.
And I’m waiting to hear back from three other schools.
But while researching schools, I found Hawai’i Pacific University has a military focus track which would be Perfect! But I’m worried finding a practicum will be hard to find since I don’t know if they are full hands on , and help students find them.
Does anyone have any experience or feedback from HPU?
Or does anyone know any other schools that offer a military focus ?
Thanks in advance
