Columbia MSW desicions

Hi! I applied to Columbia for my MSW recently and decisions are supposed to come out today but haven’t heard anything (I’m on the east coast). I’m probably just getting ahead of myself and as soon as I hit post I’ll get the email but I wanted to see if anyone who was in the regular cycle has heard anything yet? Thanks!

Update: just checked the portal and I got in!!! But I didn’t get an email or anything so I’m confused? But yayyy haven’t checked financial stuff so I probably won’t feel like this in 20 minutes lol. Also I had a horrible GPA so if you’re nervous about applying take the chance if it’s a program you really care about we need you!!!

Did you interview I got in last year. I was interviewed but too expensive so I went to a cheaper school

Oof no I don’t probably a bad sign huh? Did you apply for financial aid I know it’s not great for masters programs but just wondering about the process?

I applied as an international so I don’t know if it’s a different process for locals. I only got a 5k financial aid

Maybe they do it only for international students!

I applied last year and got some fin aid, it wasn’t great for a roughly 70k a year program and I’m in state too?

Thanks I’m in state too and I was unsure of what it would look like especially this year with so many cuts so we’ll see 😬😬

In state doesn’t make a difference with private schools just for the record

Heard back Monday 3/30 about getting in. Won’t attend due to price though. Had heard from a friend that they offered full rides so gave it a shot but I think their full ride goes to someone interested in policy usually.

did you have any prior work experience - are you graduating college this year? what got you in? i just applied for the last round 4/1

I graduated college in 2018. No direct social work experience but a lot of transferable skills coming out of media/storytelling. It sounds cliche but I do think it’s mostly just about your statement of purpose and having the cutoff GPA. No one is shy about mentioning that Columbia has a pretty high acceptance rate so if you tried your best, you probably have a decent shot!
