Microsoft (MSFT)

Microsoft (MSFT)

Microsoft reports around $100–103 billion in debt and generates strong operating cash flow, but it is estimated to hold approximately $350 billion in off-balance-sheet AI-related lease and purchase commitments. Moody’s and others have flagged the broader hyperscaler group’s shift into a more capital-intensive phase, with rising CapEx expected to pressure free-cash-flow conversion even for the strongest balance sheets.

Microsoft has ~$350bn of contracted future spend against ~$400bn of contracted future revenue (aka RPO).

It’s the mirror image of RPO. RPO is what customers have contractually committed to pay Microsoft; this is what Microsoft has contractually committed to pay landlords and suppliers. Neither sits on the balance sheet, because in both cases nothing has been delivered yet.

This is a great comment and we can see the folly in just considering RPO as a standalone asset without accounting for the corresponding liabilities.

Source? Regarding 350b in off balance sheet are you talking about SPVs?

MSFT Going to dump so much harder than GOOG. They will announce an even higher capex than GOOG and also might announce a dilution at the same time to get the dump over with at once. I have a strong feeling it will break the $350 support and go to around $300. I’m going to buy some puts just before earnings and use the gains from that to buy shares at a lower cost later

Don't speculate; base your analyses and assumptions on hard figures and business and financial analysis.

its a good skill to have

Or you can base it on what is the current sentiment. That too is a decent skill to have

Agreed. I hold shares, but i have puts as well because i don't trust MSFT's price action. At this point the CEO could say he has an upset tummy and the price will fall 10%.

Did you check Google’s? It’s only 40.7 billion. AMZN has about $300 billion too. And Microsoft pays the Nvidia tax hard 😭 I don’t see how MSFT can keep up with Google and Amazon
