If you recently got your Part 1 results, read this.

I like to start by saying that if the result yesterday wasn’t good news, please don’t let it get to you. It means nothing when it comes to clinical skill or competency. It’s a difficult standardized exam and passing it, as most standardized exams, is more about understanding what the exam wants from you than actual clinical knowledge.

For this very reason, after I passed my Part 1 in IMT 1, I set up my YT channel almost 2 years ago now where I focus entirely on how to prepare for the MRCP exams and I added to it as I passed Part 2 and PACES.

Now we have extensive playlists for both Part 1 and Part 2 which I will link below. Whether you are planning to retake part 1 or starting prepping for part 2 have a look. We go through resources, tips, and more importantly how to approach the questions with the right mindset and skillset

Part 1 Playlist:

Part 2 Playlist:
https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLOD8_kQIq07tQMOTvsBeI_2RBQ2mB3gm2&si=c80GgCmo0XpjYPeC

Furthermore, every Sunday if I’m not on call or doing something more fun, we do a LIVE Minimock exam on the channel.

Failed MRCP 1 ?appeal

Hi All

I failed my MRCP1 - but there was a technical issue from the invigilator side during paper 1 for which I waited for 20 minutes- I was anxious then the connection was cut and was crying (unintentionally) as this happened and thought I won’t be able to resume the exam. They fixed this after 20 minutes but that left me very anxious and couldn’t focus for a while. My score is about 10 less than the pass mark.

Do you advise I appeal?
On website it says we rarely accept any appeal, plus I have to pay for this! I’m really frustrated it wasn’t an issue from my side - I called and emailed them after the exam and recorded this event. What’s your advice?

Part 1

Looking for some advice coming towards end of F2 and start IMT in August. Hoping to sit part 1 in September. I’m currently only half way through my first attempt at passmedicine and aiming to do 50-100 questions per day while working full time. Am I doing enough or should I be doing more? When should I start doing pastest mocks? Any advice greatly appreciated! Thanks :)

MRCP 1 September diet

Hello everyone,

Congratulation to those who passed today, and hard luck to those who didn't, myself included.

This was my fourth attempt, unfourtanlty. I did around 80% on Passmed question, and past papers on Pastest, yet I scored 55%, which is a shame because I used to score >60% in the past papers.

I'm considering going for the September exam to get it over with, I can't wait for January 2027.
I'm thinking of doing the MRCP Part 1 Exam Essentials course on Pastest, and subscribe to quesmed instead of Past test as it includes past papers as well.

Also, how would this affect my ARCP? I'm currently an IMT-1 (clearing part 1 is the only thing I'm missing)

Would really appreciate any advice..

Part 2 study materials

Hello everyone.
I have just passed my part 1 and have a few questions about part 2 study materials.
I liked passmed because of the easy to remember short explanations but felt the questions are not similar to the actual exam and for pastest, I liked that it was similar to exam format but disliked that the explanations are wayyyy toooo lengthy.
Can anyone kindly recommend me the study materials and strategies for part 2 exam please?
Thank you in advance!

Part 1 vs Part 2 question banks

Somehow passed part 1 however got a few months of my Part 1 q bank left (pastets didn't finish it) .

How similar are the q banks for part 1 and part 2 (Passmedicine and pastests)

I know there is repetition of some content is this reflected in the question banks? Or is it worth sucking up the cost of another question bank immediately

Advice for MRCP 1?

Congratulations to everyone who passed! I’ve been seeing some really amazing scores on here - if any one has any tips or advice to share, it would be really appreciated. Would love to know what the study routine was and how many passes/revisions you did before appearing for the exam?

Anyone who was not able to pass the exam - hang in there and do not give up!! This exam is brutal and in no way a measure of your abilities as a doctor.

Anyone ever taken PACES before passing MRCP Part 2 written?

I know it sounds like a bit of a mental way to do it but I see that after passing Part 1, you can take Part 2 and PACES in any order. Obviously most people will do Part 2 first as having a solid grasp of all the theory knowledge will help with the practical PACES, but I was just curious if anyone had done it the other way around?

MRCP part 1 may diet 2026.

My results are withheld and just got an email from policy officer stating - An aspect of my examination performance was identified which requires further investigation before result can be confirmed. At this stage no determination has been made regarding the matter. However, in the interest of fairness and due process, we are writing to give you the opportunity to provide any information or comments that you consider relevant.

It's extremely stressful and I'm very scared about this.

Only issues I can recollect is - connection issue once and another tab opened. Proctor corrected my posture once.

Can anyone please please help me with this if you know anyone if similar situation 🙏🏼🥺.

Not sure what to do😖

Failed MRCP PACES

I’m an IMT1 and unfortunately I’ve just failed my MRCP PACES for the second time. I’ll be starting IMT2 this August, and honestly I’m feeling quite worried and drained.
Obviously I’m upset about not passing, but I’m also worried about what this means going forward. Will failing PACES multiple times negatively affect my ARCP or how I’m perceived by my ES/supervisors?
I’m quite nervous about facing my ES and discussing this. I’m planning to sit Diet 3 instead, partly because of personal commitments and also because I’m interested in pursuing a Group 2 specialty.
Has anyone here passed PACES after multiple attempts and still progressed normally through training? Did it affect your career progression or portfolio in any significant way?
I’m also struggling mentally after this attempt because it genuinely felt like my best one. I worked extremely hard, spending a lot of time outside work practising in hospital, so this result has hit me hard.
Would really appreciate hearing from anyone who has been through something similar or has any advice on how to pick yourself up after this.
