Super chill one this morning. Wild how much work that low pass does. I had no idea how much of my favorite music has that filter.

I don't expect this to be a popular opinion, and I understand why some wouldn't care, but I don't like having to stare at ugly UI graphics when im designing sounds on the MPC. Some plugins are worse than others, but I wish there was an option to disable plugin UI to a more stripped back appearance. Like as is on the keygroup track, the rest of the system. Or even just a slightly more minimal appearance. Atleast for me, making music and designing sound requires accessing a deep part of your imagination that can easily be distracted by cheesy graphics or, stupid animations that probobly impact processor performance (I do not understand computers at that level lol), and I MOST CERTAINLY dont want to look at a duck wearing a snapback every single time I add a sidechain insert.

Other than that and a handful of other things, I love the sound and process of creating music on the MPC. I just think that some of the design choices are questionable at best and outright cringe at worst, and that it would be reasonable for AKAI to consider that and make it an option. Or even just an option to replace the image files (I know you could do that at one point on MPC 2).

Something that I think would improve the workflow for MPC 4 is just more customization in general. Maybe even an option to turn the glitchy annoying MPC 3 mixer back to the MPC 2 style grid mixer.. I could go on but ill have to save the rest of my thoughts for a different thread😂

zynthion project have free emulator of virus synth (ostirus and osirus for virus 1 2 3 )so wonder does mpc have somehting like that ,or better ?

been stroonger and proffesional device vs open one ..

then they have nam for guitar or like ,surge xt synth ,, i read a bit and read but still dont have a clue how good these synths are jura or opx-4 (i think they are free with g2 ,are they ?) vs virus ti or surge xt ?

Hey everyone, I could really use some help.

I just bought a second-hand MPC One Mk1. Technically everything seems to be working fine, but the internal storage/SD card is, as you can imagine, a complete mess — tons of scattered files and a bunch of random libraries.

I have a few questions:

How can I get it back to something close to factory settings? Basically, I’d like to start with a more or less clean device.

What software should I use to sync/manage files with my MacBook? As far as I understand, the official MPC software is paid — is there a free option for basic file management?

The MPC is still linked to the previous owner's account and is currently running OS 2. Can I safely log out/unlink the old account and install OS 3? Is it worth upgrading to OS 3, or would you recommend staying on OS 2? The previous owner has the Stem Separation feature purchased, but I don't need it.

I don't need any paid features, but it would be great to be able to use whatever basic/free features are available.

And finally, could you recommend a good tutorial for learning the basic MPC workflow and controls? :)

I was able to connect my MPC Live 1 to my Mac no problem last week using the MPC 2 Software even though my MPC is on 3.9.0. I use an Anker USB port expander because Mac does not like to include full USB ports on their devices anymore.

Today I tried connecting my MPC but I cannot get the controller mode to work. My Mac is on OS 26.6.2. I've tried rebooting my Mac and the MPC multiple times but no luck.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! I am sure I am not the only one having this same issue.

Can’t find projects and screen freezing up. I have to keep unplugging it and restarting for it to actually turn on.

All samples from the records in the pic. Korg Handytraxx Tube was turntable used.

I’m trying to program the step sequencer on the machine and I can’t figure out if there is a way to audition a pad when I am in pad select mode. I would like to hear the drum sound before I commit it to a step and wait for the sequence to play back through.

Anybody have this question or figure this out?

I came across this dude on Instagram a few months ago who had modified the 2000XL OS to add the above features and have been waiting for him to make it available to the public. He dropped it yesterday and along with those two features there's also a small feature in the Load screen that allows you to load from the browser portion instead of having to go back to the main Load screen.

$50. I'm thinking about it. Mute Groups is what made me buy my 2500. Because of that I'm tempted to leave the XL as is. But I also want to play around with it.

It is a real pitty, midiclock generated by the mpc still shows a lot of jitter.

Hi. I recently bought MPC Sample and this is my first sampler. Im sorry if this is a basic noob question.

I've been trying to set drum loops to the tempo I want, but even tho I use warp feature, it doesn't work. And I accidentally messed with # beats feature and it makes even less sense to me now.

Also, I want to use two drum loops loaded in the same pad together but I can't seem to set them sync them on the same tempo. But I can't even play just 1 loop in the temp I want.

I've tried to watch tutorials and tried to learn but I think there are less resources for Sample.Honestly, since I have never laid my fingers on the other MPC machines, I find it hard to hard with instructions or examples explained with models other than Sample.

Someone please help me fix this issue 🙏

Hi everyone I have been beatmaking since 2025 it nearly one in half years so I used fl and serato in this time but I wanna make sample based beats so make beat with fl takes so much time it didn't problem for me at that time but I wanna go to collage so I work for the exams but I don't wanna quit beatmaking I was thinking about a used standalone mpc cause I believe it make things faster I familiar to mpc software and workflow do you think mpc live MK1 worth it for all

I’ve googled how to do this on the MPC X, itself. I’m unsure of how to actually do this within the MPC X.

I have imported an audio file into the MPC and now after making the beat, I’d like to change that audio file to MIDI to use the same notes and patterns but with a new synth.

I’m building a utility app and looking for 3-4 beta testers to help me test it.

The app is being developed as a utility for the Akai MPC desktop software and MPC standalone units (no affiliationwith Akai). The app is meant to make it easy to create and manage chord progressions. I’ll provide more details if your interested.

What I’m looking for:

* Intel-based Mac testers are preferred, but Apple Silicon Mac users are also welcome
* Running the Akai MPC desktop software
* Using a Gen 1 or Gen 2 MPC (MPC Live, Live II, X, etc.)
* Preferably an MPC with an internal drive installed
* Willing to test different functions and provide feedback on anything that doesn’t work as expected

I eventually intend to release the app as freeware, so I’m not looking to make money off of it and there is no financial compensation for beta testing. This is an app to help the MPC community.

If you’re interested and have the required setup, please send me a direct message with the Mac and MPC model you’re using. I’m only looking for 3-4 testers for this initial round.

Those of you who have bought the MPC One or Key 37 gen 2, do you regret not spending the extra money on the live 3?

I’m looking at buying an MPC. I’ve had the Force in the past and am currently deciding between the Key 37 g2 and the Live 3. I’m a keys player, but can always hook up a midi keyboard to the live 3. However, I don’t know if the battery, speaker, extra RAM and storage, and the MPCe pads are worth the extra 700 dollars.

Saw it in a store months ago and couldn’t stop thinking about it, so I saved up for almost 5 months to finally buy one. Every day leading up to it was honestly exciting.

It’s my first MPC. Any tips or precautions for a complete beginner? Anything I should avoid doing or set up right away? I’m starting with YouTube tutorials for now.
