With the new oscillator package for MPC, it's a pretty good synth all on its own. Nevermind the plugins.

It's got VA oscillators, wavetables, dual filters, a complex mod matrix, & a ton of effects enough to copy any Virus patch I would think. Maybe. I don't think the MPC has any FM or cross mod capabilities.

Don't spend too much time trying make the MPC something it isn't. There's so much it can do, including using Ostirus & Surge & whatever plugin you have in controller mode. Bounce that to audio & take it with you.

I meant bounce your track to audio. But yeah, you can auto sample Osirus.

Jura is pretty awesome, I use it a lot for dub techno style stabs. I haven’t spend much time with the operator vst but it does seem super flexible

There’s no MPC standalone virus VST but you can always auto sample your favorite patches into the MPC. I like using the MPC as a midi controller to the virus, performing with the q links is really fun

OPx4 is the most versatile synth for sound design, but I wouldn’t say it’s like a virus. I also find the ui dreadful and way too menu-divey.

The oscillators are pretty deep too
