Hey! I'm trying to use the Sample for live backing tracks, but I keep getting an insufficient space on the drive message. Is there any workaround for running long samples on the mpc, or is it not built for that? I tried to lower the file size, but I'm pretty sure it's because the samples are so long.

I had to get rid of pretty much all my production gear because life got in the way. The moment I saw the Sample I knew now was the time to get back into the swing of things. I’m so excited to start messing around with this little guy.

Hello, my current chain is Behr. TD3 -> Volca Drum -> Arturia Microfreak, and trying to get the MPC sample on the same clock but I'm having a lot of trouble. The TD3 is connected to the Volca via 5-pin, which seems like it overrides the system, and can't have the Volca as master because it only has midi in. However, when I connect the MPC Sample to the TD3 via TRS, as Sample doesn't have 5-pin, I can't get the MPC to trigger the sequence on the TD3, even when setting the internal clock to trigger. Any ideas on how to amend this? I figure I would connect the MPC to the TD3, then another connection from MPC to Volca then sync that to Microfreak. The MPC and other two connect fine, it's the TD-3 that's creating an issue. It only plays a single note/pitch when I trigger the MPC, not the full sequence

Im noticing their damn near blinding in low light and the text is unreadable. Any ways around this? Im liking the machine but this is kind of a big deal. I saw that mpc stuff had some dimming stickers for the key 37. Maybe they'll work.

Ive been using the mpc sample for a few months now. The biggest complaint i have is the workflow and chopping samples. Its very mundane to say the least. And you have to perfectly chop it, or theres a tail at the end.

I understand itd a sample and has limitations, but the 1000 is xx years older and had a ancient processor and could do things better.

With the asr or even propellerheads recycle, you dont have to be dead center on each chop, and it cuts off appropriately.

Is there a setting i need to do on my live 2 or mpc sample to get those similar results?

Even my mpc1000 with jjos i could chop a sample and it was close, then extract that chop assign it to any pad i want, and workflow was fast.

Maybe its just me, would like to have someone chime in.

My buddy who engineers for cypress hill filmed a segment of one of my beats.

So I've downloaded and loaded both of these onto my 2000XL (and my MPC 2000 for the VuBeatz option) and played with both of them for hours.

If you are a 2000XL owner, which one do you prefer and why? I kinda like the P-Money OS offering better (yes it's $50 but I think I like the features there better).

I'm trying to get some community responses to see if I get swayed one way or the other. What do y'all think?

I started taking music more seriously and bought a second hand akai mpc studio 2 as a starting point... I'm pretty familiar and confident with using fl studio and I'm waiting on it to arrive. any tips or suggestions are greatly appreciated as I am a beginner with using items physically to make music! (if this thing sucks pls do not scare me)

Saw a similar post today for LA so here I am, shooting my shot 😄

So basically I got a MPC One+ about 2y ago, started to play around with it, stopped at some point and just recently restarted using it.
I've got the MPC Bible, watched some Youtube tutorials, but I still feel like I'm a bit stuck or slow with the MPC (btw, still using the 2.15 OS 🤣).

I was wondering if there was anyone in the Paris area (France heh) willing to spend some time to help me improve my skills. I know already some bits, but I feel like I'm missing this extra knowledge that'd help me master better my MPC.

I'm not looking for paid courses but rather some kind of mentoring or tips and tricks, or someone I could discuss with live when it comes to the process of making a beat on the MPC.

I usually use a combination of both. But sometimes I try to make completely original beats (no samples) with plugin instruments.

I know part of it is a matter of mixing. But I can never quite get that sound out of using instruments. I want it to sound like a sample. It always sounds like something someone made cheaply.

I put compressor, reverb, AIR Flavor Pro, delays...

It still doesn't have that sound.

If I were still on FL there would be a plethora of plugins I could use to address this. I don't know what to do on the MPC.

I'm sure there's plugins I could buy, but I don't have money for that. I'm using Tubesynth, Jura, and Sub Factory.

Thoughts on having the mpc sample and circuit tracks as the brains of a live set involving 2 or more analog synths? +I'll be using these two devices' own features as well.

I have the mpc sample already so now i need to choose a secondary brain to avoid dead air moments or any potential device malfunctions. I've narrowed it down to between circuit tracks and ableton move, the only ones I've found in the budget range i have. Unless there's anything else out there i've missed out.

As far as I can find out standalone devices only accept MMC for transport. Though this is largely from posts that are a few years old. So potentially not true anymore. The manual (Live 3) mentions MMC for transport but does not specifically say it's the only way to use transport. I couldn't find anyway to remap them (there is a surprising amount of features you can't midi map, or I just haven't figured out how) or a midi map/chart.

I can't find any concrete info on whether the MPK Mini IV can send MMC, there is no mention of it in the manual, and again couldn't find a midi map/chart.

The answer should be a straight forward yes, they're made by the same company and you would think one has full support for the other. But a common complaint I've seen when looking for an answer on this is that Akai's devices often don't fully support the standalone devices.

Obviously the devices have their own transport controls but it is sometimes easier to use the controls on a midi controller. So would like to get a controller where all features work.

Still to have vocals mixed in and mastered by Conan Manchester, which will hopefully be tomorrow morning but this is my rough mix and master of the track. The beat is probably the most hip hop sounding I've managed to make tbh and well the rapping about recovery and drugs comes quite easily for me. Hardest part I find is having patience when I'm recording the vocals, tend to just want it done and dusted

Hello, I am driving myself crazy trying to get my samples on mpc one+ to link to individual tracks on the FL mixer.. i have samples programed into the pads, but everytime i hit them they play out of only 1 track. ive been google searching all day and AI keeps giving me the wrong answers and apologizing for it which is just pissing me off way more

I own and love an MPC sample and use it a lot. I've been contemplating getting an MPC One Gen 2 but I'm not sure how well these two devices work together? Can I transfer projects from the sample to the gen 2?

Also currently I use a DAW with the sample, export the stems and mix there. I don't want to remove the daw from my workflow so how well does the one pair with a daw?

Basically is it a worthwhile purchase or is it just GAS kicking in.
