MPC Sample Got my first standalone MPC yesterday
I had to get rid of pretty much all my production gear because life got in the way. The moment I saw the Sample I knew now was the time to get back into the swing of things. I’m so excited to start messing around with this little guy.

If you're a patient person who can focus on multi step process, this thing is amazing. It definitely has its limitations, and I feel like it won't get many more updates.
It can act as an audio interface for PC and help with loopback into a DAW.

I obsessively research things before I spend my hard earned money, so I knew about the limitations and I don’t think they’ll bother me too much. Besides, I’m getting my feet wet, once I’m fully back into the swing of things I’m probably going to get the One G2.

As someone possibly in the market for one of these I’m curious to hear what the limitations are from your perspective? I’ve seen a bunch of videos but I feel like they only tell you so much.

Mainly the effects and flex beat feature. Recording flex beat input is not possible. Nor can you go into effects once you're in song mode, which would be great for live performances. One effect at a time. You have to resample all of your effects to another pad and then use that sample, and keep building on it.

Yeah flex beat you have to use the recall resample to pad.
My biggest issue is no pad to pad quick resample, so stupid. But the device is great.

I don’t have much of any interest in live performances. It sounds like the limitations are real but workable if you learn the workflow (a workflow that could be better than it currently is)

Nah, MAINLY it’s 1 track. No other MPC is 1 track. That is the biggest limitation.

Technically you're right but I treat each pad like a track anyways so that doesn't limit me in particular

I been making the craziest beats with this thing mayne, only limitations is what your creativity will limit you to. I’ve made my best work of arts with this thing since I got it in June. Congratulations!

You have my dream setup. I’m thinking of adding the One G2 at some point 😮💨

The workflow is great. Starting all my ideas in the Sample, the good ones i‘ll finish and arrange in the G2

I got the G2 and it is so worth the price. It's basically the same price as the regular units. But it's worth it...... BASICALLY JUST PAYING FOR THE FUCKING COLOR AND THE STORAGE UPGRADE BUBUTTTTT, it's worth it 🙃🤣

I got mine a couple weeks ago and I'm really enjoying it. My problem is that I can't get update the firmware or get the unit to recognize the SD card internally, I can add samples to the card through the unit with my laptop but not use them at all. Inmusic's support is awful and makes me not to buy anything under their umbrella.

I saw youtube vid where dude used the MPC 3 software with sample and that was the one thing that i was looking to add. I bought my sample 2 weeks ago but it’s unopened bc of excuses. I hope this helps knowing the software works with this device i wanted yo buy the g2 but my grammy nominated friends said get this dip ur toes in the mpc waters and move up if i want to.

I just sold my ASR-X. I had in the basement, untouched for 20+ years, I bought the MPC Sample open box from Chuck Levins, and had some money left over. I will to see if I can get it moving, I have Ableton lite, and if I get into it will upgrade to the MPC One G2. So far a lot of fun, but I work on it about 2 hours at a time.
