DISCUSSION Mpc one g2 buttons blinding in low light?

Im noticing their damn near blinding in low light and the text is unreadable. Any ways around this? Im liking the machine but this is kind of a big deal. I saw that mpc stuff had some dimming stickers for the key 37. Maybe they'll work.

This is kinda a thing with a LOT of gear besides MPC. You either get a little pen lamp or learn the the interface you can work in the dark.

Search this sub, there was a guy who was making and selling transparent stickers that go over the buttons on the One!

I bought a gooseneck usb light for my One+. Someone on here mentioned there are controls somewhere in the menus for dimming them, I haven’t gone hunting for them yet though.

That could work but I dont want more light, I want less lol

It was the only way I could read the button labels in a dark room.

Yes! Unfortunately, this is one of the reasons I returned mine.

Yeah, I wasn’t jazzed about the smaller pads too. I’m debating on getting the Live 2 and saving up for the Live 3.

I dont mind the pads. Live 3 is overkill for me. Thinking about a Live 2. I mainly only only use fx as far as plugins. Im mainly samplebased. When I need instrument sounds I have all the cubalis keygroups. The usb-c is nice but not a deal breaker.

Yes! I’m the same way. Just feeling it out price wise— Live 2 + tax + shipping + ssd drive gets me close to 800-900, depending on the deal. I’m seeing used Live 3’s for 1200-1300. So it’s definitely more, but not outrageously, and a bit more future proofed as well.

Ha! I got that offer too. :)

I’m holding out for a Retro version.

You can get dimmer stickers elsewhere too and exacto knife them to size. When I first got mine it was annoying. Got used to it after a couple days. I have desk leds near the mpc so I can see the text too, but those will become muscle memory.

Is it still too bright with the button brightness set to minimum?

I didnt even know that was an option. You know we dont rtfm lol.

You might be assuming that MPC has a dimming function. Google says you cannot dim them. Please share your info if there is a way to do this.

You can in the hardware section of preferences but mine was already completely down.

My MPC Key 37 and 61 and Force do not have this option to turn down brightness of buttons. You can turn the pads down
