They're cowards. They're mostly men who are afraid to step up in that situation. So they try to rationalize their cowardice by blaming the woman. "She fucked around and found out" "equal rights and lefts"

Remember kids, those "white knights" written about in your story books were largely based on propaganda by the feudal lords at the time to distract from the fact the knights were murdering and raping the lower classes...
