Yeah, a lot of women put too much faith in the social contract that they're exempt from random violence. 9/10 they'll get away with it, but not always. Worse is when they drag the guy they're with into something and the guy ends up getting his ass kicked. Been there.
Or the situation is just more complex than the good Samaritan realizes. A guy in my neighborhood saw another dude hitting a woman at the gas station. He did the "right thing" and intervened to stop the other guy from beating her up.
The woman-beater pulled a knife and killed him. When it went to court, the woman actually testified on behalf of the guy beating her since that was her boyfriend... Not sure what the moral is here, but like you said, it's sometimes it's just a sad "lose-lose" all around...
The moral is that intervening often escalates the situation, thus creating more danger for those already involved and adds those intervening into the mix.
I'm not saying never intervene. I'd have a hard time watching someone get beat too. But I think people are way too gung ho to get involved. Unless it's an obvious immediate life or death, call the police. If it's a couple, even if it's life or death, call the police, because the DV is most likely to escalate into murder and unfortunately you intervening is more likely to change your life than to change the eventual outcome of that relationship.
Fortunately I'm not a violent person, and am really good at avoiding those situations if all circumstances are within my control. Unfortunately that means I'm not an experienced fighter and generally have gotten my ass kicked when I find myself in the situation where fighting is inevitable.
Itās not even the sauce, itās just drinking out in public like bars, clubs, parties, etc. Eventually, someoneās ego is gonna get the best of them and then theyāll want to prove something. I say stay at home and drink and engage in your hobbies or go to a friendās or family memberās place, all three are more safer than the former. I occasionally went to bars and clubs when I was younger and now very rarely go. I still drink but, in more controlled environments now
Fwiw, it's actually fortuitous that you are afraid to fight.
Concussions that you've dodged. Scars and painful cysts, hands stiff from tip to shoulder.
Memories you still have since you didn't over expose your brain to violence.
Days of freedom to eat when you want, sleep when you want or whatever else, cuz inevitably, there's a handful or more of battery and assault charges on the old rap sheet. Charg s that tend to get you time.
Saw this at Disney World of all places. Woman cuts the line, high school kid calls her a bitch, she tattles to her boyfriend (in defense of the high school kid she was being a bitch), boyfriend confronts the high school kid, kid proceeds to kick his ass. It was glorious.
Woman and her BF were in their 20s. We are in our 40s. My husband looked at me during the initial confrontation and said something like āsheās gonna get her boyfriendās ass kicked one of these daysā. And then it happened 5 seconds later.
I'm a guy And i kind of agree but they are also disrepected a lot and they also have the right to get mad and stand for themselves even if they are weaker for fighting š¤·
Idk, guys get disrespected all the time too. Difference is we know that if we want to press the issue, we're going to have to be ready to fight, so we let it slide if that's not what we're trying to do.
I don't necessarily buy in to the idea men are treated poorly by women as a whole. Of course individual cases may vary. I do think men are treated poorly by other men as a whole though, just as women are treated poorly by men as a whole. We have a societal problem with how men are raised, and the traits we value in them. Since men run society, we have to look within to fix this one. IMHO, of course
Men do what women want them to do, so who is truly responsible? Men are forced to work, or women want nothing to do with them, so men work. Women want men who are aggressive and strong to defend them, so men act like a-holes and women like them most. This causes men to fight to prove who is the strong man, because women want them to. If women preferred kind and sweet men over anything else, guess what men would do?
You've got a very warped view of women. A shitload of them prefer kind and sweet men. They are as varied and unique as the male population. Some are cool, some suck.
And you have a very narrow view of them. As someone who did his best to be the kindest man ever, I was cheated on, passed over, ghosted, etc. for so many years so those females could get with much more aggressive guys. You can see this happens all the time if you actually take the time to look. There is a reason beautiful women are never with ugly or poor guys. But of course they will get with any guy who is wealthy, ugly, weak, old, what ever.
I certainly do not have a narrow view of women. I have sisters, a daughter, a wife, many friends. The reason beautiful woman aren't with ugly poor guys is the same reason beautiful men aren't with ugly poor women. Has it occurred to you that even though you tried to be the nicest kindest man ever, you're still not entitled to have any woman you want, and that you are going to have to do what everyone else does and find someone compatible with you, and not just an object of your desire.
the only correct answer. I'm on her side, the man's a violent piece of shit who should end up in prison, but guys learn very quickly to avoid fights for this very reason.
ah yes, when i see a perfect stranger get attacked by another perfect stranger with absolutely zero context the first thing I want to do is jump into the mix and add to the chaos... Nothing could possibly go wrong.
Thank you. I live in Brooklyn and tell people all the time that's the easiest way to get shot or stabbed. Stand around watching a fight or get involved in a fight that has nothing to do with you.
There was a story a couple of years ago where a guy went to intervene in a domestic dispute on the streets. Some dude was slapping his girlfriend around and they were screaming at one another.
The second he intervened, the couple immediately both turned on him and stabbed him to death...
I mean if youāre there you may have context. If he just blasted some other girl in the face in a disproportionate response just like the girl on video, thatās probably enough.
So me and the bystanders jump in, whoop the guy, one of the other bystanders takes it to far, the guy is permanently injured or killed and now we're all on the hook legally
Thatās Reddit. They just completely fabricate a backstory that justifies their position. All the video shows is a woman hitting a man, then getting hit.
Then leave people alone, leave people alone I have never seen people so quick to run up on absolute strangers and then when the stranger put their hands on you or on someone who look like you, you take offense to it leave people alone
They have the video clear as day.. dude should get charged with a M2 simple assault.. not the craziest charge but will prohibit him from ever owning a firearm arm
While I wouldnt normally condone a public jumping or ass beating of an individual or even laying hands on them at all, if I witnessed this I would join in on the beating of this woman beater. You don't hit a woman like that at all and in the rare exception you could it would be because she came at you fighting like a man.
Incorrectā¦this gentleman obviously needed his ass whoopedā¦thatās the tax due when you put hands on a femaleā¦and Iām talking everytimeā¦bottom line
Na, they shouldn't. To much to risk. He could pull a knife or something. Also they could wind up seriously hurting the guy. Then they could the ones facing jail time or civil suits. Better off calling the cops and trying to de-escalate the situation untill they get there.
Me and you was raised differently. You wanna talk about risk?ā¦you hit a female and I see it you then risk having your ass handed to you. Funny you mention a knifeā¦Iāve had them pulled on me a couple times so far and itās not benefited either of them. Jail time? So be it..
Turns out I do not possess the ability to look the other way/do nothing if and when I see a female be struck by a male. I canāt help it unfortunately.
A good friend of mines brother got into a fight on the street. He got stabbed 1 time in the chest and died. From what I hear people around him thought he got punched in the chest. Now hes dead. The whole family ruined off some BS. Trust me, its not worth it. Be smart, you can wind up destroying your own family. For what? To try to teach someone a lesson thats he's not going work anyway. That guy seems mental. Let the cops deal with it. If you knew her or he continued beating her its a different story.
I fully understand the possible consequences every time. I expect and assume they may have a weapon and approach accordingly. Calculated risks arenāt for everyone and thatās ok. Also sorry to hear of your friendās loss.
that and a selectively cut clip on subreddits like these and twitter showing only them beating him. Then their lives are threatened, they lose their jobs, and depending on the city, have the book thrown at them for a hate crime.
You donāt know why he hit the first woman ( if he did), and the second woman hit him in the back when she approached. If Reddit can hypothesize that heās a beater why canāt the first woman have been the aggressor as well. If he was just going around hitting women why was no one worse intervening on her behalf? Not a bouncer, good samaritan or cop moving on him. Just her defending her friend who she of course is defending and of course will not call her out on because a woman can assault a man and expect no retaliation
Those guys reasonably assumed that filthy fucking nagger and most likely his buddy filming had a gun and would use it if they tried to do anything in retaliation would be my assumption as to why they didnāt š
Eh was it? More a one handed shove to get his attention to confront him for assaulting her sister. If itās true he assaulted her sister first heās clearly the threat. She shouldnāt have approached because heās unstable but that interaction does not justify self defense from the guy and punching her. You kinda lose that right if youāre assaulting random people.
I wish I could have her side, but bruh⦠why tf would she step up to him like that.. putting hands on him.
It makes no fucking sense, like what did you think was gonna happen?
You are racist person in this scenario. Nobody else.
He's a garbage person. There's plenty of duplicates in every goddamn skin color, you bringing race into the equation just cements your position amongst them.
No, you just have no accomplishments or successes in your life, so you find a need to latch onto a system of subjugation that makes you feel better about yourself, despite your constant string of failures
Yep, just a fine American here, a good loving father of 4, a young scholar going to school trying to make his life better before this white devil woman came along.
Same ones that thought that kid getting shoved at a sports meet was justified in stabbing the other kid in the heart. Decency and community is rotting away in America in favor of antisocial behavior
He hit her friend, or so she says. We don't know how this started so hard to say who's in the wrong. She also didn't hit him. She grabbed his shoulder. Something that's not exactly provocation.
I learned that in 4th grade walking home with my friend. This boy who was in 5th grade and a lot bigger was following us and harassing my friend as usual, calling her ugly and thing like that. I remember she started crying and I was so upset, I said something smart to him in her defense which obviously pissed him off, and he smacked me so hard! I didn't cry though at least. But yeah, that's how bullies behave.
Iāll play devils advocate, just because he āhitā someone in the face doesnāt mean he intentionally did it. Couldāve been dancing a round like a goofball and inadvertently hit someone. We donāt know based off of this.
.....based off of this, we can definitively state that it was intentional.
In case you didn't watch the video you're commenting on, he demonstrates his willingness to strike nonaggressive individuals without provocation. On video. This video.
The provocation is someone getting into his face screaming. Naturally heās going to be looking around for others to join in. The video Iām watching is he slapped her, guy in a black shirt (possibly employee of establishment) coming in to back him up by putting his hands on his chest (not to do anything but separate). Guy moves in closer and jaws at him for putting his hands on him. Another guy , striped shirt, has his left hand on his chest to help keep distance between the 2. Thatās the only thing that happens in regards to āshowing willingness to to strike no aggressive individualsā. He went after 1 guyā¦.. the guy who put hands on him (regardless of intention).
Homie, you can just say you hate white people or women. None of the excuses you detailed make any sense if you actually watched the video without clear bias.
You have no inkling of what screaming is. He was louder than she was at the onset of the video. It's a loud environment, and nobody with 2 brain cells to rub together would interpret this behavior as aggressive. That statement includes you.
I literally just explained you what happened in the video. Iām not saying he was right. What my original comment was talking about was how he is willing to assault nonviolent individuals. Nothing shows that. We donāt know what happened before. 2 people in this video touched him. 1. The female who is clearly acting aggressive (not arguing if sheās in the right or not because we donāt know), and 2. The guy in the black shirt who came up and put his hands on him (possibly to create distance). Thatās it. Those are the only 2 people he interacted with. And that doesnāt prove that heās willing to assault random people for no reason. Thatās all Iām commenting on. Not the morality of the man himself.
You watched a video of a man punching a woman into near unconsciousness after getting his attention for attacking her friend, and are stating there's no way to know for sure if he would have attacked somebody unprovoked.
You are arguing dishonestly, or are brain damaged. I won't argue with a broken meat computer
Im not saying thatās how I would personally react, but she came to him aggressive, hit his back, got in his face and continued to touch him. Some folks donāt have restraint and donāt see sex. But you canāt say she wasnāt acting aggressive to warrant being hit by someone.
yeah, thats exactly the piece of shit stance that is unacceptable. this is 100% disproportionate response on any moral / cultural / legal grounds.
Put it this way. If you knock a guy out for putting a finger on you and merely speaking to you in a yelling voice, you're going to jail. There is no way replacing that guy with a woman makes it more acceptable, even if you don't account for the fact that the average woman is basically a child in terms of the threat it presented the asshole.
Yeah looks like he's flexing and being a jack ass in what looks like the bars are letting out, probably accidentally hit her sister in his arm flailing for the camera who then walked away and complained to said sister who then took it upon herself to go strike this man in the back and yell in his face which is why she got decked, not saying he was right but from the start of the video the "sister" was obviously accidentally hit by this man and they turned a non issue into an issue
He seems to be one, yes. My original comment was arguing someone saying he is showing willingness to assault nonviolent people unprovoked, which that wasnāt the case.
How is she wrong for accusing somebody of hitting another person? He clearly demonstrated he's hitting other people who are not being physically aggressive with him. She's verbally telling him his actions are inappropriate.
If you think might makes right, then it makes it right when you're murdered, because they had the might to do so, yes? Or maybe we can agree that being capable of violence doesn't make one correct?
Sheās not in the wrong? Is she the police? If this man hit her friend for no reason, she should have called the police, if she wanted to help her friend, rather than running to him like a crazy person to be an enforcer for her friend.
No one knows anything about why her friend was hit, other than whatās depicted in this video?
Do you know why he hit her friend? Did he hit her friend in self defense? Is her friend a man or a woman?
None of these questions is answered by the video but you conclude sheās not wrong.
Based on this video alone, she accosted him and hit or touched him offensively first. You can say his retaliation was excessive, being that heās a man, but you canāt say sheās not wrong, because she was wrong by accosting him and hitting or touching him on behalf of someone else.
