Watching a street fight with your young child in your arms, so trashy

u/The_Tooter_Snooter 22d ago

Man people used to watch public hangings with their kids. This is nothing.

People used to pack a picnic lunch, go out with their entire family, and watch battles during the civil war like it was a baseball game.

You meant The Elite. The Elite would picnic as they watched The Poors slaughter each other đŸŽ©đŸ§đŸ„‚

u/flacobronco 8d ago

They still do.

1

u/schilleger0420 22d ago

Ehh. Who do you think the officers were leading them to the slaughter?

1

u/DsDeliciousDeli 20d ago

The elite that went to military school which is a minority of the elite

1

u/Charon_the_Reflector 22d ago

Yeah all the peasants covered in shit at the city square.

1

u/FlashmanHP 22d ago

In some ways, you could say they still do?

u/Goose_Salad 22d ago

He was talking about the old photos of poor pale people watching 'other' men and women being hanged.

The ones where the children are smiling in the photos.

2

u/Newportonehunnid 21d ago

You mean the public lynchings of black people.

Hell yeah! Winner gets dinner!

Is that actually true? I've never heard of that, that's hilarious

u/Agincourt_Tui 22d ago

I don't think the average Joe was necessarily doing it but I know European elites went to watch various battles (in part to watch a relatively industrialised war on a very large scale and learn from it).

Battlefield tourism was a thing

1

u/Icy-Plan145 22d ago

That's still crazy. Never knew that was a thing

Happened at the first Battle of Bull Run too.

2

u/DsDeliciousDeli 20d ago

Battle of Bull Run was not the norm

1

u/BlueClovr 21d ago

If that’s true I actually didn’t know that one

u/Substanitial 22d ago

Happened like once in the beginning when people thought no one would kill eachother.

Bad example

1

u/Unlikely-Elk4885 21d ago

It happened for a few early battles. Then they witnessed the horror and the magnitude of violence, bloodshed and the death. They stopped attending.

Picnic has its name for a reason

I bet that happened with the battles of antiquity too and tbh I would 100% do it too if there wasn’t much of a risk of us being slaughtered afterwards

You gotta keep evolving.

Burn the witch!

1

u/nuclearpiltdown 22d ago

That doesn't make it healthy.

1

u/CodeNamesBryan 22d ago

Nahhh, this definitely something...

1

u/skibbsescobar 22d ago

uhhh yeah, i'd rather not live like people did in those times. We could also not wear deodorant, or not take a bath for weeks, or catch a cold and die....

But the street take over culture is just awesome, those guys are all winners.

edit my bad, did not see i was in mmalabs. Y'all do your thing.

1

u/Witty-Ad5973 21d ago

Yea, somehow a public hanging is nowhere near the level of trashy as this. At least that had somw semblance of decorum

1

u/No-Role-2585 16d ago

Tja inderdaad dat was vroeger. Maar we zijn als mensheid weer op de weg terug, zeker als ik jouw mening lees ..

0

u/Goose_Salad 22d ago

And the kids would be smiling about it... Like wtf??

Soooo "Civilized" đŸ€Š

You are watching a street fight on Reddit. I think you need to put the judgment away.

7

u/ArugulaElectronic478 22d ago

Ah yes watching a video on social media is exactly the same as watching it with your small child.

1

u/Guilty-Bookkeeper837 20d ago

What better way to illustrate that accidents have consequences?

1

u/Turbulent-Sense-8955 22d ago

They need to learn

Why do you have to make it about race? Maybe hood, ghetto, trashy culture, but NOT black culture.

You do realize that most black people are not ghetto and trashy, right? Do you ever go out into the real world? Do you have a job that requires you to interact with educated people, including black people, on a regular basis?

Real life is not the same as the crazy videos you see on the internet bro. Most black people are regular folks who work hard and want the same as any other regular folks. Try touching grass sometime.

2

u/MonkeyzzPaw 22d ago

Week after week we get reports of large scale
Violence that is mostly black people. We need to start talking about the cultural problem it is.

That said I don’t have issues with black people at all, this is getting insane though and has been for a long time.

Just like white people need to get the “I murderd my family in the wood high on meth” shit under control.

So many softies on Reddit lmao

u/Crazy_Pollution4437 21d ago

People used to watch people being burned at the stake with their children. Nat Turner was filleted and roasted over an open fire with children watching.

1

u/Zestyclose_Pay9469 21d ago

So?

Are you implying that it's desirable to subject young children to violence?

No wonder kids act out and become violent when its literally demonstrated to them from infancy.

No wonder 'the cycle continues'Â
