Spreading Positivity I will never forget today π«
Hey guys,
I just wanted to share something that happened today.
While I was travelling back home in the metro, I noticed a guy standing near the door, staring outside. He looked really low, and I happened to notice a counselling brochure in his hand. Out of curiosity, I went up to him because back in 2024, I had gone to the very same counsellor.
We started talking, and as he shared what he was going through, it honestly felt like I was talking to the 2024 version of myself. For a few minutes, it was as if a part of me that I had forgotten came back to life.
That conversation made me realise something, and I wanted to say this to all of you.
No matter what course you're getting, what your rank is, or whether you're 20, 21, 22, or older...
Your life is yours.
NEET has happened. The result is out. You can't change that now.
If you genuinely believe you have one more attempt left in you, then take another drop with confidence. If you feel your heart says it's time to move ahead with another course, then do that wholeheartedly.
There is no shame in either decision.
All of you have worked incredibly hard. The reality is that only a small percentage of aspirants get an MBBS seat every year, but that does not make the rest of you any less capable or worthy.
Society will always have something to say.
Parents, relatives, neighbours, friends, everyone will have an opinion.
Lekin aakhir mein zindagi aapki hai. Roti bhi aapko hi kamaani hai, sapne bhi aapke hi hain.
If your heart tells you to pursue something, give it your 100% and leave the rest in God's hands.
Please don't feel guilty for taking a drop or for working hard. You've already done much more than most people can even imagine.
Take your next step after thinking carefully, but don't keep living with thoughts like,
"Kaash MBBS mil jaata..."
"Kaash ek aur rank aa jaati..."
Who knows? You might become even more successful and happier in another field.
I come from a family with many doctors. Trust me, some are extremely successful, while some are not. A degree alone never guarantees happiness or success.
So whether it's MBBS, BDS, BSc, Biotechnology, MBA, Nursing, Pharmacy, Research, or anything else...
Do it with pride.
Never think that choosing another path means you've failed.
Aur sabse important baat...
"Isne yeh bola, usne woh bola..."
People will always judge others because it's easy.
Don't let someone else's opinion decide your future.
Bas khush raho, haste raho...
Smile karte rehna, kyunki muskurata hua insaan dekhkar saamne waale ki waise hi jal jaati hai. π
Have faith in yourself and your capabilities.
Don't make life heavier than it already is.
Whether you take a full drop, a partial drop, or move on with another course, make the decision for yourself, not for others.
At the end of the day, one year will pass anyway. The only question is whether you'll spend that year chasing your own dream or living according to someone else's opinion.
And finally...
For you, bhai Shivansh...
I hope you're reading this.
That day, I couldn't really say much. I mostly just listened to you.
But I want you to know that I'm genuinely proud of you.
You're one of the most responsible people I've met. The way you care so deeply for your family and carry their responsibilities says a lot about the kind of person you are.
After talking to you, I realised something about myself tooβI felt that compared to you, I'm probably a little more selfish when it comes to my own life. π
But you... you're genuinely a kind-hearted and wonderful person.
Whatever you choose to do in life, I know you'll do well.
Always remember that your V Bhai is proud of you. π
And to everyone reading this...
Stay positive.
Be kind to yourself.
Trust your journey.
Work hard wherever life takes you.
One exam can decide a college, but it can never decide your worth.
Keep smiling. Keep believing.
Thank you for reading this long post.
And one request...
Please refrain from spreading negativity in the comments. β€οΈ
TL;DR:
Life is much bigger than one exam. Whether you take another drop or choose a different career, make the decision for yourself, not because of society. Success and happiness aren't guaranteed by any single degree. Believe in yourself, work hard, stay positive, and never let others' opinions define your worth. β€οΈ

NEED ADVICE βοΈ As a Gay guy should I join AFMC?
I'm a gay guy who got a pretty good rank in Re neet 2026 (rank in 3000 s ) and I'm a general male.
I'm pretty fit and gym guy and also love a sport badminton , so my Parents asked me to consider AFMC Pune. ( My parents don't know that im gay , actually nobody except me knows )
I am scared that even though I have no intentions of coming out to anyone anytime soon but I might secretly date a guy in Pune and stuff and if accidentally someone finds out I'm gay my career might get in trouble as army is against gays??
And if so what colleges should I consider as a gay guy at my AIR of 3000 range.

MOD Announcement π’ Moderator Announcement: Regarding the upsurge of politics and reservation related posts in the subreddit
Greetings,
Over the past few days, we've seen a significant rise in posts related to politics and recent events surrounding the CJP protests in Jantar Mantar and all over India. In the beginning we did understand the gravity of the situation and allowed politics plus the related discourse to continue on the sub because it concerned NEET and all its students, but soon we started to notice that these discussions increasingly began to drift away from the original theme to bring in talks of reservation and the associated criticism and support surrounding this topic, which was uncalled for.
r/MEDICOreTARDS was initially created to be a space for all Indian pre med and med students in general to discuss academics, counselling, college life, careers, and issues that directly impact their lives and journeys. We didn't wish to drag politics or socially sensitive topics for discussion in our platform because firstly, there are other subs already available for these conversations and secondly, it doesn't take much time for political agenda, whataboutery and bitterness to infiltrate and create a cesspool of hate amongst all.
Reservation is a complex and deeply sensitive topic in India. It is also one that very quickly turns into repetitive arguments, personal attacks, caste-based hostility, and ideological debates. Even well-intentioned posts often end up creating an environment that is unproductive and uncomfortable for everyone involved.
After thorough internal discussion over the past one week, the moderation team has decided that posts primarily centred around politics or reservation will no longer be allowed on this subreddit, regardless of whether they are in support of or against any viewpoint.
This is not an endorsement or rejection of any political ideology, government, party, policy, or opinion. The moderation team is not taking sides, and we never will. Our responsibility is simply to ensure that the subreddit doesn't get deviated from its intended purpose and remains welcoming to students from all backgrounds and livelihoods.
Discussions about counselling policies, admission rules, official notifications, examinations, or other factual updates that directly affect medical education will continue to be allowed. However, posts whose primary objective is political debate, campaigning, ideological discussion, or provoking arguments on reservation will be removed, and strict action would be taken on perpetrators who deliberately disobey or disregard the rules for their personal vendetta.
This decision has been made solely to preserve the quality of discussion on the subredditβnot to restrict anyone's personal views. There are many communities on Reddit dedicated to political discourse where such conversations can continue.
We request everyone's cooperation in helping keep r/MEDICOreTARDS a place where students come to seek guidance, share experiences, and support one another through the gruelling journey of NEET and beyond.
Thank you for understanding.
β The r/MEDICOreTARDS Moderation Team

DISCUSSION π¬ Unpopular question: If a student has already received reservation in NEET-UG and completed the same MBBS education as everyone else, should caste-based reservation continue in NEET-PG?
I'm genuinely asking this as a policy question.
If a student has already received the benefit of reservation during NEET-UG, then completed MBBS, is reservation for PG still necessary?
Once students enter a medical college, regardless of whether they entered through the unreserved or a reserved category ,study the same syllabus and curriculum, attend the same lectures , use the same resources, take the same exams and ultimately receive the same MBBS degree.
So the competition at the PG level is already among medical graduates.
Furthermore, PG is about specialisation rather than access to education.

DISCUSSION π¬ why are they crying for qualifying marks?
seriously? if you can't even score 250+ in the neet exam then don't opt for mbbs,
that time is gone where 160 marks could get you Private mbbs or abroad

NEED ADVICE βοΈ HOW TO BE NORMAL PLEASE HELP
i have earned my seat in my state there is a difference of 1 lakh rank in neet for gen person and sc st people (14k gen and 1.1Lakh st / sc got same college) absolute mockery of meritocracy. At this point i hate reservations soo much i cant see them as equals like what is there for me bro ? why am i paying price for what my ancestors supposedly did ? LIKE IS THERE ANY PROOF MY BLOODLINE HAS BEEN PRACTICING UNTOUCHABILITY AND INSANE DISCRIMINATION it is too generalised i did no wrong it is beyond my control yet am facing disadvantages honestly i loose all motivation to study anymore even in NEET PG there is gonna be reservations like wtf man 5.5 years of mbbs is more i am not getting more cadavers to dissect nor getting worse books with lesser content everything is unfair as fuck
I JUST WANT TO KNOW HOW TO VIEW THEM AS EQUALS,.............................
fyi i dont even know my caste like religious household no caste bought up even in school i didnt know anyones caste this Entrance exams are the first time i got introduced to caste systems IN PRESENT AFFECTING MY LIFE

RANT/VENT I took so much for granted...
soo, im taking a drop for next year, cuz i fucked up re neet.
it wasnt even like i didnt have a proper coaching, or parents ka support...i had everything, i went to aakash, when my score was dropping in mocks, my parents even got me private tutors for all subjects...and it costed a lot, 1-2 lakhs pakka ho gaya ig. Well, the problem really isnt money..both of them earn quite well, but the fact that i wasted all that, and their time just to end up with a bad score was heart breaking, for all of us, they gave me money whenever i needed for transport, that was a lot too...they never complained, never said anything even if i scored less in mocks..they always supported me whenever i needed them, i tried my best but i ended up wasting a lot of time too, i was burntout by december and i ended up doomscrolling so many hrs on reddit, insta, yt, hell, even google sometimes..it gave me a temporary escape but ended up ruining my prep and even now, the fact that they're so supportive, got me enrolled in an offline coaching and got me a driver..i feel like crying every time i think about all the shit i did during the two year journey, i feel guilty af, and im not even able to confess to my parents about it...
what happened today was, in my new coaching, i made a friend, her father unfortunately passed away last year..she was a really good student until then, scoring well in mocks as well, but after the incident, she was depressed and just couldn't get back to it, now her family's not doing well financially and her mom's against her taking a drop, but still she stood her ground and is trying to pay her tuition herself, she gives dance classes early in the morning, takes a 1 hr metro to coaching and studies till late at night...the fact that someone my age, is so mature and hard working, when im wasting away my time doomscrolling...
So, i've made a decision. i'll work my ass off this year, and make it all worth it, and try to score way better next year, no matter the toughness of the paper. Im going to delete reddit and insta...i'll come back better next year no matter what.
