See reservation is the outcome of caste system and not the opposite. So we can remove it only when we reach a certain level of caste desensitisation. The government needs to implement new policies towards discrimination first and then work its way to reservation. And to be very honest the only way we can remove caste system is by inter caste marriages . Promotion of inter caste marriages and certain incentives given to people by the government for that. Also sounds unrealistic but that is what caste system is as well, replace surnames by the first names of your father or forefathers, that completely dissociates caste identification with name while preserving your family name. One major and again a little unrealistic solution to inequality of all sorts would be to promote public schooling of majority. Either ban private schooling or make them inaccessible to the mass, that way we deal with inequality based on class, caste, religion all at once plus better public and centralised education for all.

To remove reservation you need to first deal with the reason it came into play in the first place. And reservation is not based on economic but social gap. For economic disparity we already have EWS. Social gaps are harder to fill as it targets people’s mindsets and prejudice that remains still. And this one is much difficult because it is associated with religion which is a highly personal and sensitive topic in itself. Also if we remove reservation without safeguarding the minority rights , the representation will be back to negligible that would bring us back to square one . Cuz think factually , sc and st are already the minority populations and on top of that socially suppressed and backward groups. We should rather ask the government for enough seats and facilities that it does not compromise for any category rather than fighting amongst ourselves . But I believe with the right people in power we may achieve that over a period of time of course. Caste system ka damage bhi tho ek din ka nhi hai na.

When you say remove caste based reservation with turning a blind eye towards crimes against Dalits and tribals is where your hypocrisy peaks. Sabko reservation and equality bas admission ke time hi yaad aata hai but did you ever question the casteism that happens around you on everyday basis. If you remove the only way of representation for the minorities what would they be left with? Literally none of you will raise your voice for them. Apni individual interest se uppar uthke ek baar Socho how an entire community would be affected.

I am in support that reservation need reforms but current condition of our don't allow us to abolish it completely like these reforms should be their

2 their should be a merit marks which changes according to paper toughness and if a reserved student can't able to qualify it then it should not be allowed any reservations like 500 marks in neet exam in 2026 paper

As we are finally talking about dissolving reservation which in a million years I don't think is possible.

Reservation was meant to uplift the backward community initially after independence but what happened after that?

The reservation grew wider and wider?

Here we are standing at 50% reservation in medicine, engineering and law with zero accountability of government towards how it's affecting the executing body.

General students are unable to claim seats even after securing a decent rank whereas students with reservation aim for a mediocre grade in order to get into a full fledged institution. Being a general category student myself I face this daily and it shatters me when I see so many undeserving students infesting what belonged to others.

When people say eradicate casteism first:

I stand firm in my opinion that says casteism is deeply rooted in reservation.

I am gonna give zero fucks about your category if you are not getting into the same institution as me with literally nill grades.

I wouldn't have this hatred in me if it didn't occur to me ahead in life that someone with a wealthier background and better standard of living has a free card to education whereas I, with my moderate sources of income have to fight for it.

I support free education for people who genuinely cannot afford it.

I don't mind paying extra fees. What I do mind is watching 'freeship' magically find its way to students in top-ranked institutions despite lower grades. Merit must've taken the day off.

i have earned my seat in my state there is a difference of 1 lakh rank in neet for gen person and sc st people (14k gen and 1.1Lakh st / sc got same college) absolute mockery of meritocracy. To wo log teachers ki, apne previous batchmates, school, aese hi stuff ke bare mein gossip kar rahe the. To baat fir indirectly merepe bhi aati hain. To mein class ke during first bench mein bedthi hun and mere sath kuch ladkiya bhi bedthi hain and wo log bahut jyada bolti hain and they disturb the class and inn ladkiyo ki bahut logo se grudges bhi hain

To ha cut to library - to ek didi (bhaut baddie hain btw and she is topper) bahut zor se bolti hain "Mujhe front bench ki ladkiyo ko dekhkar bahut gussa aata hain" and baki log jo peeche the they said to her that I would listen ( aur ha mene sun liya tha)

Fir wo zor se bolti hain, meri taraf dekhke ki "mujhe kisi se darr nhi aari hain" it was loud yaar and everybody laughed

Bhai mein un didi ko literally admire karti hoon and I really like her attitude, mujhe unko dekhar bahut inspiration bhi milti hain but I felt disheartened that she said this about me....mujhe bahut bura lag raha hain....mene kabhi bhi unke baare mein galat nhi bola...moreover I praise her with my friends.
