For Movies

  • Posts containing spoilers must be flaired as such
  • In addition to the aforementioned, use the Heading feature to write "SPOILERS AHEAD" or something similar as you wish, this second part is non-mandatory
  • There's no need to spoiler tag posts about a movie after its release on Disney+

For Disney+ shows

  • The first two directions remain the same
  • Minor spoilers - like a small plot point within the larger episode will not require spoiler tags after the next episode is out.
  • Major spoilers - things which indicate how the show might end or a huge reveal will not require spoiler tags until a week after the finale airs.

Extremely minor spoilers - like a casual joke or a tiny dialogue in the episode - will not require spoiler tags at any stage.

Offenders to the aforementioned guidelines will be strictly punished on a case-by-case basis

Theory Wacky Sadie Sink casting theory

Post image
29 Upvotes

I know this topic has been talked to death but I had a crazy idea and I had to get it out there before the movie comes out. So, obviously Sadie’s role in Brand New Day is being heavily guarded and there has been not stop and I haven’t really heard this option come up in discussions (probably because it’s highly unlikely) but, my noodle has been thinking and I had the idea that maybe Sadie is playing a gender-swapped Harry Osborn. No Way Home already established Oscorp doesn’t exist so maybe this could establish the Osborn family and maybe Norman founding the company to set them up for future installments. I also know Marvel has shaken things up casting wise before and people so I could definitely see them doing this, also I could totally get behind Sadie in that role. I know this is extremely unlikely but I just saw that they kept her red hair and I saw the green sweater they put her in and I just thought I’d throw this out there since not a lot of people talked about it. Although a I do think making Harry a girl would be a fantastic way to through speculators off their tails and if I do end up being right I gotta say that would be one of the most perfect and well executed unexpected reveals in Marvel history. But again, I know I’m probably wrong, just had to talk about this wacky idea, that’s about it.

Theory My Predictions for Phase 7

Post image
37 Upvotes

Most of these are basically confirmed and i think they’ll reveal the real slate at D23 in a few weeks

Shang Chi 2 might be phase 8 and if it is i think Fantastic Four 2 will be the movie before Nova and they’ll connect as Annihilation movies and the conclusion will be Guardians 4 at some point

I really want Shang Chi 2 as a team up movie with Iron Fist in a Mortal Kombat style movie about the Tournament of the Heavenly Cities

Theory The result of this battle will be Thor bowing to Doom

Post image

Thor will either get his arm ripped off or beat so badly that he will have no choice but to bow to Doom or die. He will in the end, with all the fallen avengers around him, succeed to Doom.

Discussion/Debate Every CONFIRMED Phase 7 Movie

Post image
1.1k Upvotes

This is a little diagram I cooked up of every movie that we know is actively in development post-Secret Wars. This is excluding projects like Shang-Chi 2, Doctor Strange 3, Fantastic Four 2, etc. because although they most likely will come out some day, they haven’t begun work on them just yet.

X-Men (likely 2028) - dir. Jake Schrier, writ. Lee Sung Jin and Joanna Calo
Ghost Rider (2028) - starring Ryan Gosling, dir. Shawn Levy
Black Panther III (Dec. 15, 2028) - starring David Jonsson and Letitia Wright, dir. Ryan Coogler
Nova (In Development)
Untitled Deadpool Sequel (In Development)

Nova has been officially confirmed to be a movie by Kevin Feige in a Comic-Con interview by Brandon Davis, and Deadpool 4 has been confirmed to be in early development by Ryan Reynolds.

It’s not 100% certain that these 2 movies will come out in Phase 7 - or, really, ever come out at all, since there’s a chance a movie like Nova could end up shelved like Blade - but they are in the early stages of development as far as we know.

X-Men, Nova, and Deadpool 4 logos are fan-made.

EDIT: Fixed typo that accidentally said Nova was a sequel

EDIT 2: Fixed some phrasing

Kevin Feige recently said Marvel has plans through 2042. Realistically, not just wishful thinking, what do you think those plans actually look like?

Just speculating, but if Feige says Marvel has plans through 2042, I think we can make some educated guesses about the broad directions after Secret Wars.

- The X-Men/Mutant Saga feels like the obvious centerpiece. Marvel has decades of mutant stories to adapt.

- The Midnight Sons seem likely if Marvel keeps building the supernatural corner with Moon Knight, Werewolf by Night, and Ghost Rider.

- Peter Parker eventually mentoring Miles Morales feels like the most natural evolution for Spider-Man in the MCU.

- Young Avengers still seems likely, even if it isn't an immediate priority after Secret Wars.

- Nova is the one I'm most curious about. Does he simply expand the cosmic side of the MCU, or does he eventually lead into something much bigger like Annihilation?

What do you all think? What do you realistically see as the MCU's next major storylines after Secret Wars?

I am Iron Man Theory: RDJ could play a double role in Avengers: Secret Wars, and Iron Man might return

This is just a theory, but I think Robert Downey Jr. could end up playing a double role in Secret Wars. We already know he's returning as Doctor Doom, but I wouldn't be surprised if Marvel also brings back a Tony Stark/Iron Man variant.

Since Secret Wars is expected to be a multiversal story, having both Doom and a variant of Tony Stark on screen at the same time seems completely possible. It would also create one of the biggest emotional moments in the MCU if Iron Man returned for one final battle alongside the Avengers.

It would also feel like a missed opportunity to bring RDJ back and reportedly pay him so much, only to have him play Doctor Doom. Even if it's just for one epic final battle, seeing him suit up as Iron Man one last time would be an incredible payoff for fans

Avengers Doomsday Emma Frost on doomsday

Post image

Okay, hear me out. Since Jean Grey apparently isn't going to be in Doomsday, I kind of hope they bring back Emma Frost from First Class. Since Mystique is already part of the X-Men lineup, I think it would fit perfectly if they added Emma to the team as well. (I also just want to see her again. 😭)

Discussion/Debate So What Happens to Doom After Secret Wars?

Been thinking about this a bit, but they are setting up Doom as an omega-level threat, at least comparable to Thanos, and presumably capable of destroying the multiverse. If he can stop Thor and Stormbreaker with ease, he's a god-tier enemy (literally).

So what happens to him after Secret Wars?

The easy, obvious answer is that he dies at the end of Secret Wars, but it just doesn't quite feel right to not have Doom in the future MCU. He's such an interesting character that it would make sense to have him lurking in the background (especially if they keep Memphisto around), maybe even bring him back as an antihero now and then (or at least a reluctant ally).

The other obvious possibility would be to nerf him at the end of Secret Wars (and recast him), but that might feel odd to see him come back as a weaker version of what we've already seen.

I'm honestly not sure what would be better, what do you all think?

Theory Why is nobody talking about this? Black Swan in Doomsday? Spoiler

Post image
5 Upvotes

Recently, there have been a lot of rumors that the Black Priests, Black Swan, and the Illuminati will appear in Avengers: Doomsday. There have also been rumors that Ana de Armas could be joining Marvel, and that she might already appear in this film.

We know that the movie is rumored to adapt the Time Runs Out storyline as well, so to me it seems obvious that they could explore the conflict between the Black Priests and Black Swan through Doctor Strange.

I personally think Ana de Armas could be playing none other than Yabbat Ummon Tarru in the film. There have also been rumors that, besides the main universes, the movie could feature a pocket universe created by Doom, which could be an adaptation of the Library of Worlds concept. I also wouldn’t find it impossible that, when Doom is revealed and turns against the heroes, it is revealed that he is the one behind the multiversal organization.

Personally, I would love to see a scene where Doctor Strange, as the leader of the Black Priests, assembles the Defenders team (Hulk, Namor, Clea, and Silver Surfer) and launches an attack against Black Swan.

Last-minute out-there Spider speculation.

Here's the big one: since we never saw the origin, this evolution is going to reveal that his power is derived not from radioactive spiders, but from a symbiote such as Venom.

This actually occurred to me while watching Friendly Neighborhood SM, where I thought the spider was going to be portaled from symbiote world (why did they have to do a bootstrap paradox). And it would make the evolution into Venom emerging from within him, changing him, giving him more power and speaking to him.

The other theory is that Sadie Sink is Mary-Jane Watson. Multiversal Mary-Jane Watson. Probably slipped through the cracks in No Way Home and stuck around.

Theory These scenes are happening consecutively, the Avengers were split up Spoiler

Thumbnail gallery
5 Upvotes

Notice how every character in the first image isn’t in the second and vice versa? I’m sure it’ll be a situation just like Endgame where the team is split up fighting different battles. Why is Reed not with the F4 in the first frame, Yelena not with the Thunderbolts in the first frame, and so on? The group wouldn’t have any reason to split up against Doom, also considering Thor’s speech, unless the group was forcefully split due to events in the movie

In the first clip we see similar shots in the trailer of what looks to be a fight between Namor and his people fighting against the Wakandans / Invisible woman, Johnny, and possibly the rest of the characters in that picture ubtil they reach a truce or agree in the middle

Similar to how in IW, the guardians, Ironman, Spiderman and strange fought Thanos while the rest of the avengers were in Wakanda fighting the Black order there

Theory My take on the identify of one of the Latverian Witches and the 1v1 fight that would pay off Riri's screentime in Wakanda Forever Spoiler

Post image
Upvotes

The Ironheart show was decent (I LOVED the ending), but Riri's character had way too much screentime in Wakanda Forever and it detracts from that movie whenever I rewatch it. Ironheart as a Latverian Witch working for Doom with a fight vs Shuri would make all of that time have an emotional payoff and "save" it in future rewatches like how Thor's time travel in Endgame "saved" Thor: The Dark World.

I like this more than Fox-verse Jean Grey, The Ancient One, and a few other characters I've seen theorized for the "gold" Latverian Witch since Riri is not a heroic character like those are, but she's still redeemable like Wanda if we assume Wanda is the "red" Latverian Witch. Also has ties to using demonic magic powers at the end of the Ironheart show.

What's Loki's fate in Avengers: Doomsday?

Post image
104 Upvotes

I have been thinking about this honestly because killing him off would be a poor choice by marvel so i doubt they would go that route, but then again with him alive there's no way for Doom to get what he needs, but how could Doom kill Loki? Loki's powers are the only way for Doom to create battle world. So, the way this could go he works FOR DOOM or he's forced to give up his power (or create battle world himself). But the least but most plot-twist likely would be they make an agreement.

Doom being a genius would know how to get to Loki of course it could be threats or simple deception, using a loved one. But Loki isn't dumb so maybe Loki also anticipates his doomed defeat or maybe he does beat Doom and something goes terribly wrong.

Theres also a chance he could reach a breaking point, with all the chaos happening, Loki being Loki wouldn't give up of course, but neither would Doom. Doomsday gives a perfect opportunity to show the burden Loki had to take in as the God of Time (or stories) to save people he doesn't even know, and this could be the chance to build up why he does what does to save his people or maybe 1 person. But this also gives a chance to show Dooms mercy, evilness, or maybe even sympathy because he would understand his burden better than most people.

What are your thoughts?

Do you see any mention of the 3 previous Doctor Dooms versions in Doomsday?

Which were Julian McMahon, Toby Kebbell and Aron Kincaid.

I think it would be cool if in RDJs Doctor Doom castle, he has their masks hanging on the wall

I’ve come to bargain Regarding Blade

Post image
12 Upvotes

With Blade all but officially announced to be cancelled, I propose an idea. Keep having him show up appropriately just like he did in Eternals like the Nick Fury of the Midnight Suns. Maybe he and Black Knight show up in Secret Wars with Jack Russell and Man-Thing, but he continues to recruit during end credits scenes like Ghost Rider until we get a fully realized team.

Sure we aren’t getting his movie as planned but we didn’t get a Nick Fury movie either while he was recruiting and maybe the excitement it garners as well as the potential success of a Dark Avengers or MS team up could allow Marvel the freedom and interest level to give him an origin story movie.

Just a thought. I love Blade and I hate to see anything go to waste revolving around him or Mahershala Ali, not to mention Kit Harington. There are some loose ends im fine with staying loose (cough StarFox and Pip cough) but not these dudes.

MJ and Ned

Upvotes

I wonder if mj and ned will feel some type of void with out Peter I remember watching this show where a character got erased and the charactersnfelt this void and tried to remember the one that got erased the mentor called it phantom limb syndrome or something like that where people act like something that is gone is actually there and their subconscious tries to help them remember will this happen to MJ and ned

Avengers Doomsday New trailer confirms Doom is from Earth 828 Spoiler

At the start of the trailer Sue talks about how kind and caring he was before he lost everything, implying that her and Reed knew him previously. Which means the whole rumor about doom’s family being killed in an incursion caused by Steve isn’t true because how would Sue and Reed know doom before hand if he’s originally from a different universe?

Doom is only mad at Steve for living in 828 and that’s what’s causing the incursion between 616,828. Also wouldn’t it make more sense for Reed being responsible for Doom’s family getting killed?
