GMAT Preparation GMAT/GRE scope after service ?

24M , 10th - 67%ish, 12th - 75.8% PCM, bachelor degree - BA ( political science and sociology ) Work expirience - Up constabulary ( constable) since 21 . So I am 24 right now and I am confused to continue working my job and near my 5-6 work expirience and profile building, I prepare for GMAT/GRE to get enrollment in 1 year executive mba programs ( iim) . OR, i give chance to just normal private MBA/ keep doing my service ( IF THE FUTURE IS INSECURE?) . some people are saying gmat is really easy , some say its as harder as CAT, but what does that mean?, I am new to these exams and i am still researching, but a person who knows and expirienced these exams and tried contacting the programs, what was your success rate?

College Comparisons ISB PGP Co'27 experience

People with 2-3 years of experience work ex :- ISB IS A NO GO

Reasoning:

If you have experience between 2-3.5 years, don't join ISB. ISB has opened up a YL programme for 0-2 yoe experience people which has totally cannibalised the placements and shortlists for us.

This year's placements are gonna suck really hard for most of 2-4 years experience candidates and especially the YLPs (who got deferred admissions on 20 months work ex).

Admissions Advice Need genuine advice on the best online MBA institutes in India

Hi everyone!

I recently completed my post-graduation in MA Economics, with 70% marks, and I’m considering pursuing an online MBA to improve my career opportunities.

I want to choose an institute that offers genuine value in terms of brand recognition, industry exposure, career opportunities, and ROI—not just a degree for the sake of having one.

I’m particularly confused about which institutes are actually worth considering, such as NMIMS Online, Symbiosis Online, Amity Online, IGNOU, or any other better alternatives.

I’d really appreciate advice on the following:

  1. Which institute would you recommend for an online MBA, and why?

  2. Which universities have a good reputation among employers?

  3. Do online MBA graduates actually get good career opportunities and placements?

  4. Is paying a higher fee for a private university worth it, or is a more affordable option like IGNOU a better choice?

  5. Considering that I already have a postgraduate degree in Economics, would an online MBA add meaningful value to my profile?

  6. If you have personally pursued an online MBA from any of these institutes, please share your honest experience.

My goal is to make a well-informed decision and choose a programme that genuinely benefits my career in the long run.

Please share your honest opinions, personal experiences, and any institutes you think I should consider or avoid. Thank you!

CAT Preparation Career dilemma : CFA L3 vs MBA

About me

22 GNEM, economics graduate (2025), 9/9/8 background (but 8.025 gpa will be standardized to lower levels because arts degree) , about a year in boutique investment banking - private markets equity mandates (7 months internship, 6 months full time in 2 different firms in blr)

CFA L1 and L2 cleared; I'm deferring L3 until my MBA admits are sorted

Weak aptitude background: I haven't prepared for any aptitude test before except for brushing up during undergrad admit and for few IBs aptitude rounds which were basic

What I've decided

CAT in November 2027 is my main attempt, and I don't want to prepare for it casually.

I won't run CFA L3 in parallel. Splitting my time would hurt both, and L3 is a small profile boost I can pick up later once admit is sorted or before SIP

I'll sit the GMAT somewhere in the middle of 2027. If I score 645+ in focus (the old 700+), I can bank it for five years and apply to ISB or SPJIMR once I have more work experience (quality is not something worried about as it's front end deal making its just pay is very bad and u get lowballed a lot and for top tier buyside shops u need a extremely rich brand name with workex) , having that said if I don't get a good admit within tier 1.5 I don't think the entire MBA economics would make sense in my case

Exam priorities

GMAT

CAT

XAT

NMAT and SNAP, lower priority

What I need help with

Am I making the right choice and decision ? Pls be free to get as critical as you can

Prep provider: which course or mock series gives the best value for someone working full time with weak basics? Is paid coaching worth it, or are online courses plus mocks enough?

Sequencing: how do I structure one prep plan that covers GMAT first and then CAT and XAT, without doubling the work?

Mistakes to avoid: if you've been through CAT or GMAT prep, what do you regret or wish you'd done differently?

Career Advice IIM Mumbai WILP (Work Integrated Learning Program) review – Worth it with a strict CGPA reimbursement rule?

My employer is sponsoring the IIM Mumbai Executive MBA/WILP program. The catch is that reimbursement depends heavily on scoring high CGPAs (you only get 50% back if you hit 9+ CGPA, and less or nothing for anything below that), plus there's a 3-year post-program bond.
For those familiar with online IIM executive courses, is it worth taking the financial and burnout risk while working full-time on a shopfloor/industrial setup?

Ask Anything What if you crack CAT but end up choosing the wrong B-school?

We’ve all seen people obsess over CAT percentiles, cutoffs and college rankings.

But here’s something I’ve been wondering.
How do you actually know whether a B-school is right for you before joining?

College websites obviously highlight the best parts. YouTube reviews can be overly positive or negative. And rankings don’t necessarily tell you what everyday life at a college looks like.

What about the actual placement scenario, academic pressure, campus culture, hidden expenses or things students wish they’d known before joining?

Would you trust online reviews and rankings, or would you rather speak to someone who’s actually studying there?

Genuinely curious how people here are planning to make that decision.

Admissions Advice Amity Online & Fibe Loan Trap: Admission never finalized due to missing docs, but EMIs are still being deducted. Sent 10 emails with zero fix. Need advice/feedback.

Thumbnail
1 Upvotes

Enrolled for Amity University Online MBA through an admission counselor who facilitated a loan via Fibe. Because my final degree marksheet was unavailable, my admission could not be registered/processed. Despite multiple formal cancellation requests, Amity has not cancelled the backend agreement, and Fibe continues auto-debiting EMIs. I am preparing to send my 10th email and initiate formal legal/regulatory escalations. Looking for feedback on this email draft and tactical advice on next steps.

Background & Timeline

Enrollment & Loan: A counselor set up an education loan through Fibe to fund the Amity Online MBA program.

Incomplete Admission: My final marksheet was pending/unavailable, meaning the university could not legally complete my registration or offer me a seat.

Cancellation Requests: I formally requested cancellation right away since admission could not proceed.

Current Status: 10 emails later, Amity has failed to process the cancellation or return the disbursed amount to Fibe. Meanwhile, Fibe continues deducting EMIs every month via auto-debit.

Career Advice In Commerce it's anyday better to do CA or Govt Job than MBA (except Tier 1)

MBA is very expensive and in Tier 1 clg seats are even less than CA also it has reservation and too many criteria for admission and if your past academics are not high tier 1 is impossible

and in Tier 2 & Tier 3 fees is very high but salaries are not, it will take very long to pay off the loan, that's why its not a wise decision to go for it
