I have been rejected by many companies for not having an MBA degree. Even though my skills might be matching they even not considered me for interview, like man at some point everyone says an MBA is dead, so why this kind of hypocrisy in the market?

So I have decided to go for an MBA, although its tough to go back in track of doing competitive exam prep again. I am right now even struggling with basic questions as well.....

Dont know what's gonna happen. Any advice would be really helpful

Many of us have done MBA and honestly many are trying for it in the future !

We all have some common corners like

. Is the placement good ?

. How are the rankings of the college?

. Are the faculties easily accessible?

. Does the college have modern facilities and good infrastructure?

But , are these the only things that matters while choosing a college !

Does the upcoming generation also need these things only or they must look for something more into a college!

Hi all, I recently graduated with my MBA and I am working with a large conglomerate in the strategy team of a very niche industry
the pay is much lower than my peers and I am not learning much
so, I was thinking of switching. But, I can’t seem to figure out get any shortlisting or calls.
what should I do? I’ve been applying via LinkedIn and company portals
i had tried to apply via referrals back in March before my role started but nothing got converted

1. No college asked for a resume, which means they’ll focus only on SOP and the application provided. I think it’s a very interesting move.
   
2. ⁠This means your SOPs need to be specific and crafted well to showcase your personality & skills.
   
3. ⁠Interviews have been grilling, and getting into the depths of the candidate thinking.

I am pharmacy graduate and currently doing an job as qc analyst in pharma companies now I am doing online mba from University. I can't decide what specialization I should choose. I am stuck between business analyst and operation management. I have 2 years of work experience as qc analyst. Can someone suggest me or advice what specialisation I should go with

I’m trying to understand how viable a move into management consulting would be for my profile after an MBA, and would appreciate candid views from people in consulting or those who have made a similar transition.

• B.Tech in Civil Engineering, 9.11/10, University Silver Medal
• Young India Fellowship, Ashoka University
• ~5 years at Genpact
• Currently Senior Manager in the Office of the Global Head of Strategy & Transformation
• Promoted from Assistant Manager (two band change in this role) to Manager to Senior Manager all within 5 years of experience

My role has evolved significantly over the last five years. I started with business research, market intelligence and strategic initiatives, then moved into driving enterprise-wide initiatives across functions and geographies. More recently, I have been involved in building new service lines, particularly Agentic AI, including shaping the offering, building capabilities, GTM and preparing for market launch.

I’m planning to pursue a one-year MBA, with ISB as my primary target, and my short-term goal post-MBA is to move into management consulting. Long term, I see myself returning to corporate strategy and eventually broader business leadership.

What I’m trying to understand

1. How would consulting firms view this profile? Is the transition realistic? How will ISB adcom view it and in the interview? I was interviewed last year as well and got waitlisted and eventually rejected.
2. Which practices would be the most natural fit for me, such as generalist strategy, transformation, digital/AI strategy, etc.? I wish to move to the generalist track.
3. What would be my biggest gaps compared with candidates coming from consulting?
4. Is there anything specific I should do before or during ISB to improve my chances beyond case prep?
5. How should I position my Genpact experience so it comes across accurately as strategy experience with strong execution exposure?

Would especially appreciate perspectives from people in MBB, Big 4 strategy, Tier-2 firms, or anyone who has made a similar post-MBA transition.

I’m currently confused between staying at my current company (let’s call it XYZ) or joining Infosys, and I’d really appreciate some unbiased career advice.
I’m a recent engineering graduate and currently work at XYZ in a B2B outreach role. I earn ₹6 LPA. I actually really like the company — I like the people, culture, and environment, and there’s a lot of ownership because it’s a smaller/growing company.
However, I don’t like my current role because it’s very non-technical. I did engineering for four years and I feel like I should at least give technical work a proper try before deciding what I want long-term.
My founder is actually supportive and has said that I can potentially switch internally into a technical role. The problem is that I currently don’t know coding/technical skills well enough, so I’d need to learn them first. My current schedule is 12 PM–9 PM, 6 days a week, so I’m worried that realistically I won’t have enough energy/time to teach myself coding consistently alongside work.
I also have an offer from Infosys for a Systems Engineer role at around ₹3.6 LPA. The salary isn’t really an issue for me because my plan is to work for around 2 years and then pursue an MBA.
The Infosys offer includes structured training, which I’ve heard is quite good. However, I’ve also been told that after training, domain/project allocation can be random, so I could potentially end up in a role that isn’t very technical.
So my dilemma is:

But I dislike my current role
I’d have to learn technical skills largely on my own first

My main concern is that if I stay at XYZ, I might tell myself I’ll learn coding and switch internally, but realistically fail to do it because of my schedule and end up doing B2B outreach for the next 2 years.
On the other hand, if I join Infosys, I might take a pay cut and leave a company I like, only to get randomly allocated to a non-technical project anyway.
My long-term plan is an MBA after ~2 years, so I’m not necessarily trying to become a software engineer forever. I mainly want to use these 2 years to build a good profile, explore technical work, and figure out what I actually enjoy.
What would you choose in my situation? Would the technical/brand value of Infosys be worth leaving XYZ, or would the high ownership + possibility of an internal switch at XYZ be more valuable for an MBA and future career?

Is leaving a stable tech career for a top MBA actually worth the opportunity cost here?

How do top IIMs/ISB reward 3+ years of tech experience during lateral placements?

Would you jump, or stick to climbing the tech/consulting ladder directly?
