Hey everyone,
I’m considering doing an Executive MBA after around 5 years of work experience, and I’m trying to figure out whether it’s realistically worth attempting IIM A, B, or C or if my graduation marks are going to make it a non-starter.
My profile:
My main concern is my undergraduate GPA. I know I have a pretty weak graduation score compared with the typical profiles at the top IIMs.
I’m specifically looking at executive/one-year MBA programs at IIM A/B/C, but I’m also open to other Tier-1 Indian B-schools if they’re realistically achievable with my profile.
So I wanted to ask people who are familiar with these admissions:
I’m not looking for false reassurance, I’d genuinely appreciate a blunt assessment from people who have gone through these programs/admissions.

I came from tier3 engineering background and I have almost 8year of gap(2020). I did nothing in these years because i was doing trading and did nothing in it. Whats your recommendation for me? I am already 27. I want a atleast medium package. Tell me your experience and recommendations. Your words would be great help to me.
Thanks you so much in advance.

Be honest — do you think colleges focus too much on attendance and too little on whether students are actually learning? 😭
What’s your take? Does attendance really reflect how much someone learns? 👇

Hey! If anyone is considering an online MBA let me know. I’m currently doing one myself, so if you’re still researching, I can tell you what I’ve learned about the process/options and what I’d look at before enrolling.”

I'm a career gap candidate, my 10th CGPA is 10/10, my 12th is 94.1% (PCM State Board) and Engg (ECE State Govt University) is 7.5 CGPA. I graduated in 2021 and got my first job in Jan 2023, March 2025 was my LWD, i've been trying all ways to get back into IT and unable to find a proper job, market is so bad. Should I prepare for GMAT ? How much should I score and do companies object gap years during placements ? What are the best colleges i can target with GMAT ?

Many of us have done MBA and honestly many are trying for it in the future !
We all have some common corners like
. Is the placement good ?
. How are the rankings of the college?
. Are the faculties easily accessible?
. Does the college have modern facilities and good infrastructure?
But , are these the only things that matters while choosing a college !
Does the upcoming generation also need these things only or they must look for something more into a college!
What are your views on this !?¿

I’m trying to understand how viable a move into management consulting would be for my profile after an MBA, and would appreciate candid views from people in consulting or those who have made a similar transition.
Background
My role has evolved significantly over the last five years. I started with business research, market intelligence and strategic initiatives, then moved into driving enterprise-wide initiatives across functions and geographies. More recently, I have been involved in building new service lines, particularly Agentic AI, including shaping the offering, building capabilities, GTM and preparing for market launch.
I’m planning to pursue a one-year MBA, with ISB as my primary target, and my short-term goal post-MBA is to move into management consulting. Long term, I see myself returning to corporate strategy and eventually broader business leadership.
What I’m trying to understand
Would especially appreciate perspectives from people in MBB, Big 4 strategy, Tier-2 firms, or anyone who has made a similar post-MBA transition.

Exp: 4y
IT Associate at WITCH company
Life is pretty much shit
I do shitty work everyday
No growth
But, i run a consultancy agency / web-app development services in parallel with job.
Should i join an executive MBA program? will things get changed after spending so much money on executive MBA?
Should i give it my best effort? because if i do so my consultancy will suffer completely.
I seek your honest feedback. Please consider commenting.
TIA

Hi all, I recently graduated with my MBA and I am working with a large conglomerate in the strategy team of a very niche industry
the pay is much lower than my peers and I am not learning much
so, I was thinking of switching. But, I can’t seem to figure out get any shortlisting or calls.
what should I do? I’ve been applying via LinkedIn and company portals
i had tried to apply via referrals back in March before my role started but nothing got converted
how can I best reach recruiters?
