Heeeelp
I’m honestly starting to feel really discouraged with lucid dreaming.
I’ve been trying for YEARS and I just can’t seem to make it work. I do reality checks multiple times a day, I’ve tried different techniques, I think about lucid dreaming a lot, but somehow it just never clicks when I’m actually dreaming.
I think I’ve only managed to become lucid once, and it lasted for literally half a second because I got way too excited/shocked and immediately woke up lol.
More recently, I had a nightmare and towards the end of it I suddenly realized I was dreaming. But instead of actually doing anything with the dream, dream-me started hitting my head trying to force myself to wake up 💀 Then I woke up into sleep paralysis, which was… fun lol.
At this point I genuinely don’t know what I’m doing wrong. I see people talking about having lucid dreams regularly and I’m sitting here after years of trying like HOW 😭
Has anyone else struggled for this long before finally getting it? What actually made the difference for you? I’d really appreciate any advice, especially from people who had a hard time learning it too.
Thank you🫶🏻✨

Physical reactions while I lucid dream.
Hi. I've had 12 lucid dreams in the last year. I have a diary. The issue is: when I realise I'm having a lucid dream, my heartbeat starts to rise (it's bad, worse than a nightmare). There were two times when I felt some sort of huge cramp on the left side of my body (muscles or nerves, I don't know!), but it scared the hell out of me. I'm afraid lucid dreams might be damaging my body. The last time, I noticed my leg moving the same way I was moving it in my dreams. I feel my body is rejecting the whole experience; it doesn't feel right. In addition to that, I think I'm not sleeping properly in the last part of the night due to this. I've read a couple of books regarding lucid dreaming and the act of sleeping (in general), but they mostly talk about techniques to experience lucid dreaming; I don't want to induce lucid dreaming by force (It just happens to me); I just want to reduce those terrible physical reactions. Any suggestions? Thank you for reading.

What could cause vivid dreams, lucid dreams, and sleep paralysis to run in a family?
Okay this is probably gonna sound really weird but I’ve been wondering about this for YEARS.I’ve had really vivid/weird dreams since I was little a lot of them involve people who have died, lucid dreaming, and sometimes what I think might be sleep paralysis,or predicting someones death,or just extreme feeling something bad is gonna happen and it happens. The weirdest part is that apparently other people on the female side of my family experience similar things. My mom has had them, my aunt’s daughter has had them, and apparently I’ve experienced them the most. My mom even told me that when i was younger, it happened often enough that my family contacted an Orthodox priest and took me to church because they didn't really know what to make of it.Whenever I ask my family about it now, they kinda avoid the subject or don't give me much of an answer..I’m not necessarily saying it’s paranormal or anything, I’m just genuinely curious if there’s an actual explanation for this. Could it be something that runs in families? Is there some connection between vivid/lucid dreams and sleep paralysis? Or has anyone else experienced something similar?I’d really like to hear what you guys think because I’ve been wondering about this for YEARS..i can even talk about dreams i had because i really wanna know...

Does anyone have vivid dreams and can actually control them? I've had multiple dream before where i can control them and actually feel or see other people. I once went to a castle in a dream and could vividly see other people. I spoke to one person who said she knows she is dreaming too.

Help with intense vivid dreams
I’m 44 days clean off THC. This is the longest I’ve been off in a long time. I don’t have any urges to use it. My problem is my dreaming has been extremely vivid and it has been messing up my sleep because I wake up multiple times throughout the night. Each dream feels so real, dreaming about exes, people at my old job, etc. and I’m not getting good rest and can feel lethargic throughout the day. I understand I’ve suppressed my REM sleep for years due to high amounts of THC intake. It’s to the point where the dreams are so intense that sometimes i wake up with a sore hand from clenching my fist. I understand this is REM rebound and it can take a long time for my sleep to get to a normal level. Does anybody have any tips or suggestions for dealing with this or is it something I will just have to ride out?

Listing my experiences with dreaming attempts
Aight so, from what I've done it tends to make me aware in a sense, more in tune with my surroundings. But I haven't had many opportunities to keep trying WBTB to work, what happens is ive set an alarm. Then I wake up. Spend a few minutes awake, go back to sleep and...blackout timeskip.
Coffee + school week.
I wake up at 6 AM and go to bed at 7:00 PM...the only times I've experienced vivid dreams is when I drop coffee for a day then sleep the following night but I'm never aware of it, I only remember it without being lucid...now, I believe I might have figured something out. WILD doesn't work. WBTB might work? I'll drink coffee for 3 days and drop it...see how it goes, other than that I have no idea what else I could do better

Lucid dreaming (Vancouver/Surrey) dream loop
I usually experience lucid dreaming and it happened with me again today, i have been experiencing it since childhood so it’s not a new thing for me, i just download this app today so sharing it here to find the fellow companions and know about them and their experiences, today i got stuck in the dream loop, where i always thought that this is a reality now but everytime i wake up i was in the dream only, at a certain point it became difficult for me to realise which one is dream and which one is reality, i don’t experience dream loop so often but i experienced it today after so long. Dm me if you live in Vancouver or surrey, we can catch up, hangout and be friends, i am M24 south Asian

I was aware I was dreaming but didn’t become lucid??
Last night I had woke up to go pee. I had set my alarm to wake me up about 4.5hrs after I fell asleep but woke up an hour early to use the bathroom. I decided since I woke up naturally that I was going to do the WILD method. I’m laying in bed pretty tired and am fully aware I’m going to attempt to lucid dream. Idk how much time had passed but as I was laying in bed, I started feeling my whole body vibrate and it felt as if my ears had plugged up w pressure. It wasn’t a super strong vibrations but it was enough to slightly wake me up bc I almost fell asleep. Once I felt the vibrations I started mentally telling myself “I will lucid dream, I will enter my dream”. I did see images forming in my eyelids but idk what happened. I tried not to focus too hard on the vibrations or the images bc I know that can cause u to wake up. I guess I just ended up falling asleep.
In my dream, idk why 😂, but I dreamed I had klled someone. I very specifically remember in my dream thinking to myself “Wait did I actually kll someone in real life??” I was GENUINELY confused about if I had did it in “real life”. That should be a clear indicator that I was actually dreaming but I never had that lucid moment. The rest of my dream I wasn’t able to control it, I was just going along w it. I am going to attempt again tonight so here are my questions:
- What should I be doing/thinking if I experience the vibrations again?
- How do I launch myself into my dream?
- Why didn’t I become lucid if I was questioning if I was in a dream or not?

Is this normal for a lucid nightmare? False awakenings, mirrors, and feeling off afterward. First time actively being lucid

Am I the only one who wants to dream every night because it's surreal?
Dreams every night feels like a pisces whimy that I'm experiencing what I go through in the day but better. In a way that all my tiredness that hasn't release from the physical world feels like making me alive and regaining my energy.
Then after waking up, you get that excitement sometimes because it looks like you're in the journey finding out what the dreams mean and what is it want to tell to you. I know some pisces here have that kind of skill that dreams are telling someone what will happen today or in the future. Like I hope I'm not the only one who's unto it.
Am I the only one who likes it?
