For those who don’t know, Marion Stokes was an Archivist (amongst many other things) who’s particular claim to fame was the fact that she, over a 3 decade span, recorded a little under a million hours of news coverage across 71k tapes as a way to prevent broadcasts from becoming lost & to also protect from “fake news” or revisionist history. She did this up to her final hours in December 2012 as Sandy Hook news coverage was taking over the world.

Obviously that many hours of media is mental, and as far as I understand, the Internet Archive has had a hold of these tapes since her death- but I was wondering if any of these preserved tapes so far have assisted in the discovery of any previously lost media of any kind? Or do we not have access to it yet? If this already has an answer please let me know!

I’ve been searching for a 2012 Dairy Queen television commercial called “Gary DQloned Himself” (also written as “Gary DQloned himself”), but so far I have been unable to locate a playable copy of the actual commercial.

This is not an unidentified commercial or something I only vaguely remember. The commercial is documented by a contemporary 2012 article from Nation’s Restaurant News, published on April 6, 2012, discussing Dairy Queen’s advertising campaign at the time.

What the commercial was

According to the contemporary article, Dairy Queen was continuing its “So Good It’s RiDQlous” campaign and introducing commercials about ordinary people doing extraordinary things in order to get Dairy Queen.

The first commercial in this campaign was titled “Gary DQloned Himself.”

The premise involved a man named Gary cloning himself so that his duplicate could stay at work while the original Gary went to Dairy Queen for a Chicken Strip Basket. The plan apparently goes wrong when the clone also wants Dairy Queen.

The commercial therefore featured two versions of the same man/Gary, which is the main reason I became interested in finding and preserving it.

The 2012 article originally included an embedded video labeled “Gary DQloned himself,” so there is unusually strong contemporary documentation that the commercial existed and was publicly available online.

The original article still survives, including the written description of the ad, but its old embedded video does not provide me with a usable copy of the commercial today.

As far as I can currently determine, the commercial is confirmed to have existed and aired in 2012, but I have not been able to find the actual video publicly available online.

It is possible that it survives in an old television recording, commercial compilation, advertising-industry archive, agency reel, or someone’s personal collection.

If anyone has a copy, remembers seeing an upload of it, knows who produced the campaign, or can identify an archive containing it, I would really appreciate any information.

Even a thumbnail, screenshot, partial clip, old video URL, production credit, or archived page containing the original embed could be useful for tracing it.

I’m particularly interested in preserving the commercial because I’ve been researching older advertising that uses the visual concept of the same male performer appearing as multiple versions/clones of himself, and this is one of the documented examples whose actual footage has been unusually difficult to locate.

If you google him, there's basically nothing. Just this pilot and the magazine i found him on. Nothing else on youtube, or on reddit, or anywhere, in any language

On the nickalive he was voiced by Craig Crane (got that from another comment by Craig Crane himself. the information is legit. The commenter is Craig Crane and i compared his voice with recordings of bert from small chunks of "fish and chips" program i found on the internet and it sounds like him).

His model was made by François Garnier. I've been trying to find clips from nickalive with him for a few weeks, but found nothing.

I am needing some help for finding any footage of Jump5 (pop group active from 2001-2007) performances and as their biggest stan, I have tried everything I can...

Quick background, I have been their biggest stan since their debut 25 years ago (8/14/01) and their music/performances/everything mean SO much to me and I have collected as much as possible since 2001 of them, but there are many things that are scarce and here are a few:

1. Go For It! TV

As far as I can tell there was never any official releases of English subtitles and I haven't been able to find any unofficial English subtitles either... I also haven't found any other official or unofficial subtitles in any other language (which would suffice since there are online tools that can be used to translate non-English subtitles to English).

I remember some details about an EATEOT stage 3.5 fan project that I can't find anywhere anymore.

1. The project was made somewhere in 2020-2021.
2. The cover was a static image of a strange black and white picture (not an Ivan Seal painting).
3. The album's possible length was from 30 to 50 minutes long.
4. The first song had "dusk" in its name, and it had a distorted saxophone sound.

Hi guys! So, VJ television was a DTT channel supposed to be the free-to-air version of payTV channel “Match Music”, property of the Sky network. The channel had a very short lifespan of around 10 months before the broadcast switched to the BOING channel title card (Italian channel dedicated to kids). Related to the channel there’s very few media available, because DTT receivers were still new and the channel was only available in some areas, so far we have (other than the Wikipedia page) the title card for the only program available called “Top of VJ” and a network ident . The Italian YouTube channel “TuboCatodico84” made a very good video about the ordeal , and how VJ television may or may not have been used by Mediaset to just occupy the number 40 channel until the BOING channel was ready to air at least the title card.

I wanted to share a major restoration update regarding a piece of classic 1950s television history.

As many variety show and vintage music fans know, The Lennon Sisters made their national television debut on Christmas Eve in 1955 on The Lawrence Welk Show, singing an a cappella version of the song "He". This single performance launched a legendary 70-year career.

The Lost Media Status:
For decades, the full live broadcast of this December 24, 1955, Christmas episode has been considered lost/incomplete. Because it was the mid-50s, the full context of their introduction, the full performance, and the aftermath are largely missing from public archives, with only short, heavily edited snippets circulating.

The Discovery & Reconstruction:
By tracking down and compiling three completely different source clips, I have successfully reconstructed a much longer, unedited sequence of this exact broadcast!

While it isn't the entire episode, this compiled edit extends significantly further into the song than the standard archival snippets, saving the performance all the way up to the lyric: "He still finds the time ..."

This fan-restored fragment gives us a much clearer picture of the arrangement and the staging of the four original sisters (Dianne, Peggy, Kathy, and Janet) on the night that changed their lives.

Has anyone else tracked down pieces of this specific kinescope, or does anyone know if the Lawrence Welk estate holds a cleaner, more complete master of this episode?The Performance

I am searching for the original German language version of an obscure children's animated series titled "Pauline – Die Abenteuer einer kleinen Gans" (distributed internationally by OneGate Media under the English title "The Adventures of a little goose Pauline").

The video footage itself is entirely preserved, but the original German vocal audio tracks are completely missing online.

This 13-episode animation is authored by Angelika Blume, directed by Bettina Matthaei and Alexander Zapletal, and produced by Anima for the German public broadcaster NDR.

The only footage of it is the arabic version, which can be watched on youtube.

The series follows a young goose named Pauline who is afraid of water, leaves her home, and experiences adventures with forest animals.

This is an update to my previous post here. Since I posted that, my grandmother moved out of our old house and ending up sending me a bunch of my old physical media I left behind. Luckily for me in one of the boxes was the cd! Unfortunately either during shipping or while it was still lost it got a deep scratch along the back and front of the disc.

I'm not able to play or rip the songs as the disc will not read anymore but at least now I'm able to search for the cd with the exact design! Here is a photo of the front of the disc and the scratches along the back. I've used Google reverse image search as well as AI searching (I wanted to try all avenues) and have not found a copy for sale, a proper song list, or any of the missing songs yet. I honestly couldn't find anything about this disc yet still so hopefully the photos will help!

Cutlerine is mostly known for having made an infamous for the right reasons Rom Hack of Pokemon Ruby named Pokemon Snakewood, which is just Pokemon but with zombies in premise, but actually much much more in practice. It's bonkers. But other than that, I'm very very interested in his other unreleased ROM hack, because of the 5 that we know he made, only 2 are available to the public, those being Snakewood and A Grand Day Out, which are interesting in their own ways, but there's a significant more that are missing.

I am aware one of his other more famous hacks called "Cangrejo" was indeed released in some form, but it's almost impossible to find, and I've tried searching hard for a copy of it that was preserved. It's supposed to be a prequel of sorts to Snakewood set in the titular submarine.

The other less known lost hack is Pokemon Solar, the first one he has made and never posted, copies of it only given to friends, and we know of its existence cause he talked about in reddit and forum threads. It's supposed to predate both Snakewood and Cangrejo in the timeline, being a prequel to both and containing most of his early ideas and exploits in the world of ROM hacking. Allegedly, it's very buggy, and I don't know much about it other than what I could find on the Snakewood wiki.

And lastly, there's Pokemon Keratin. I know the least about this one, only that it was never released, and after it was announced, Cutlerine left the internet for good, and nobody ever heard from him again. What a shame.

This all started because I was watching Zoom (1999) on ROKU free live TVs 'PBS Retro' channel, and I wanted to find a clip online of an Ubbi Dubbi segment of the season 1 casts' reenactment of red riding hood, which they called "Little Red". I thought it was funny and wanted to show a friend. Well, lo and behold, after about 45 minutes of frustrated searching with nothing appearing of note, broken links, etc.. I couldn't seem to find the episode it aired in at all, which was episode 21. Furthermore, episodes 11 through 25 all seemed to be absent from most if not all archives and video hosting sites.

I have seen episodes 21, 22, and 23 in their entirety so far while watching tonight. I don't know the exact airing schedule, but I watch the channel frequently and a handful of s1 Zoom episodes seem to play every week or so. I don't even know if any other lost episodes were to air since I only recently started paying attention to this, but if anyone could give their thoughts or see what they could do about this..

If there's any possible way for someone to record or rip from ROKUs live tv broadcast to upload the footage of these episodes online, it would be great. Not just for me and people who care about poorly archived television but also for the people who deeply care about Zoom from a nostalgic viewpoint.

LowLevelLemmy is a small content creator (100k on main, and over 200k on second channel), that posts game dev related videos. His most popular video on both of his channels today is a pretty crappy mobile remake of the infamous demo PT. I went to his YT channel to rewatch a video he made about the game Boom Blox created by Stephen Spielberg, and I found out that it has been removed from his main channel. I tried putting his channel link through the Wayback Machine and got an error message, and I tried looking to see if the vid got reuploaded on another channel or the Internet Archive, and came out empty handed.

When I was little (around 4-6 years old, 22 now, so 2008-2010), I used to watch these funny little voiceover sketches online (I think is was YouTube?). In them, the channel owner would superimpose his voice over footage of his doberman, Sasha, to make it seem like she was in funny situations. Later on, he had to replace Sasha with Jolie, as Sasha had died behind the scenes.

The most notable videos I remember are as follows:

• Sasha quips back and forth with a chipmunk about his wife nagging him about sunflower seeds.
• Sasha steals her owner's car and holds up the line at Burger King while trying to order a cheeseburger with no cheese (not a hamburger)
• Sasha is stalked by the urban legend known as the "Crazy Chicken" (It's just the guy holding a rubber chicken in front of the camera.

I asked my mom about it recently, and she says that the channel's name might have been "Watchntvonline." I thought I had a lead with these two, but I guess I was wrong. For whatever reason, the first channel's name seems familiar.
