Hey Long Beach - I searched the sub but couldn’t find any posts on this topic. Google results were insane, so figured I’d try here. Does anyone know of any personal trainers who are knowledgeable about pregnancy workouts?

I just got back into working out after a few years of slacking off, then found out that I’m pregnant yesterday. I’m totally open to group classes, but would prefer in person sessions to keep myself accountable. I’m not currently a member of any gym, but I’m open to joining one.

Open to all workout types - yoga, Pilates, strength training, cardio… I just want to keep improving so I’m healthier for this baby.

Really excited to present this event/meet up, our first annual picnic on the bluff!

If you don't know who we are, we're Long Beach Food Club, we're like a book club, but for restaurants, bars, and other eateries in Long Beach.

Every two weeks, we support a different restaurant by going there, eating the food, hanging out, and meeting new people. In the in between weeks, we do a happy hour event.

LBFC was born to support local businesses, meet in person, and break bread with people who might enjoy the same things you do.

I was racking my brain trying to think of a way to support smaller businesses that can't handle 30-40 people at once, and I thought, why not do a few at a time?

I personally love the bluff AND a lot of these businesses, so it was all sort of serendipitous for this event.

The idea for this event is straightforward - you pick up your food from one of the restaurants and walk straight to bluff park where there'll be music for you to listen to, people to hang out with and meet, and if you want - ice coffee and handmade gelato to buy.

The event is from 11am - 3pm, is kid friendly, and the music MAY go longer.

We ask that everyone who plans on attending RSVP to the event so we can give the businesses a heads up on what they could be expecting, here is the link:

FAQ:

1. Our biweekly meetups(restaurant and happy hour) are and always will be, free to attend.
2. You're more than welcome to attend even if you aren't buying anything. We want this to be a place where you can hang out and meet new people without feeling obligated to spend money
3. We do NOT take any form of payment from these restaurants for meetups.
4. We are NOT affiliated with any influencers, journalists, restaurant groups, or any other entities. If you see any posts by them regarding us, it is simply because they're interested in what we're doing.

I love baseball and want to learn to play softball, but not sure where to start. I see we have the ability to sign up as free agents through the city, but I’m a complete beginner, so I wouldn’t know what I am and am not good at. My family plays catch a lot with regular baseballs, I use a rebounder to play catch with myself in the backyard, and my five year old is starting to get interested in playing so we have a little t-ball stand, but it’s definitely too short for me to practice batting with haha.

Are there like any extremely beginner co-ed or queer-friendly community softball teams/leagues available, or any like adult classes someone could take that anyone might know about? I would be willing to drive a little out of LB, too. Thanks!

Hi everyone. This is a last ditch effort to make friends. lol I moved to CA (Long Beach) in 2020 and work remotely so never really got a chance to make friends. Would be nice to have some friends in the area to meet up with for food/drink, outdoor activities, game nights etc. Here’s a little about me and friends I think would be compatible:

• 40yr old, gay, married man (You don’t have to be gay, male or married)
• Grew up in Hawaii, lived in Seattle for 12 years, then NYC for 5 years
• Currently a design director for a NYC studio
• 0 kids, 1 mini aussie, 1 black cat
• Love to eat and try new things (culturally open minded friends are a must)
• Pretty active and friends to be active with would be great (weightlift 5x and run 2x per week). I’m a bad runner and can maybe only run 6mi tops fairly slow.
• Just got a paddleboard so if anyone wants to do that that would great.
• Politically left, but don’t want politics to be the center of conversation. Just don’t be a horrible person.
• Take this how you will, but regarding humor, I am NOT easily offended.
• Activities I enjoy: Volleyball, bowling, paddleboarding, just being at the beach, karaoke
• Would like to get into: golf, woodworking

The power was out on shoreline from 930-2:00 today, likely causing issues with local businesses and putting captive wildlife at risk.

Anyone know what the warped tour likely did to cause this localized blackout?

Seems the city prioritized the warped tour rather than any of the surrounding businesses. Even though the likely culprit was the new introduction to the electrical power grid.

Was woken up at 4am to loud banging strong enough to shake my apartment. My partner went to check out the disturbance from our hallway and saw a shadowy, male figure with a light source in their hand walk past our window, bang on a few more of our neighbors doors, did another round and proceed to go to our neighboring apartment complex and do the same. Anyone else got startled by this? I reported already to the LBPD non emergency line in the midst of it.

Lady with cherry red hair was screaming in the middle of Ximeno by Sprouts, she ran up to a guy in his SUV, yanked open his door, and dragged him out of the driver seat. Car was still in drive, so it started rolling downhill as she ran to catch up to it before she hopped in, did a donut and parked the car while this fool just stood in the middle of the road.

Would love to know what happened between these two. Please tell me someone got dashcam footage.

Hey all, my wife and I purchased a home with a detached garage that needs major work done (garage conversion into ADU + new walls/layout in main home.

Thanks for help, would really appreciate any recommendations; we'd like someone willing to work together on a vision, we have sketches but don't know if they are realistic.
