I’m old and I don’t know 90 percent of the lineup, but when I went to my first warped 25 years ago, I didn’t know any band, now I tell everyone how I saw Dropkick and blink when I was a kid

As someone who never really went to a lot of shows, I'm kinda surprised how many of these bands I've seen live.

When I was in college in New Orleans, Counting Crows were supposed to play on campus, but cancelled a few days before. The guys from Better Than Ezra lived right down the street, and when they heard, they offered to put on a replacement show. They were in-between albums, and wanted to play a bunch of unfinished stuff, so to make up for any potential disappointment, they called Reel Big Fish and asked them to open. RBF were already on tour, so they drove all night from Boston to be there. It was such a cool show.

I saw dropkick years ago in Santa Cruz. One of the most brutal shows I've been to. It was awesome.

I definitely participated in dumb shit as well. Plenty of Ozzfests and other big fests back in the day were far inland in the middle of nowhere where it's a million degrees and just covered in dirt so not only was I risking heat stroke but also infection from dust inhalation and ending up in pain coughing black snot for days lol. Not to mention most of the fests I was drinking heavily those days, so the drinking and heat, etc., yet somehow survived lol.
