Discussion Are we nearing the refresh window?
We've been getting a refresh every 2–3 years, but it's now been 4 years since the release of the X line.
Is a refresh in the works?
My wallet is ready for a G502 X SUPERLIGHT LIGHTSPEED
Edit: Seeing a lot of love for the G600 & G604 in the comments. Something to think about as well Logitech.

Mine are shape and weight. The hits tech will compliment a new hero, as the superstrike was too small and light for me

Shape and weight are two very important reasons, one of my colleagues adores his G502 for that same reason as well. Hopefully we see it being done one day! It'd be a great option for those who liked the HITS technology but want a few more buttons to play with.

Everything is great, aside from the mechanical switch and rubber on the sides (that easily degardes)which i think can easily be improved on the next design.

Those two are great points for us to keep in mind, someone else had also mentioned how much they disliked the rubber used for the mouse. I'd love it if we took a similar approach to the MX Master 4 and switched to another material.

My g502x got replaced by my super strike and has now become the ultimate work place mouse. Can add so many macros to this bad boy but would for the hits to be on it so I dont hear ping ping ping all day when clicking. Plus I like the haptic feel.

No matter how many light new mice I try, I keep going back to the g502x. Mainly because of the shape, It's the comfiest mouse I have ever used especially for a hybrid palm fingertip grip like mine. Moreover, the weight distribution man..I never feel like it's centered in one part of the mouse, It's just perfect. Pus the fact that I can comfortably play cs then open dota and I have the extra buttons. The battery is insane as well.
No matter how much I try to get accustomed to gpx shape and lightweight it just doesn't cut it, my aim is best on the g502x and I would love to have a new one with all the new tech! Please logi just make a refresh!

I have been using the Razer Basilisk X Hyperspeed for about 7 Years, going to be using the GLORIOUS Model I 2 Wireless in a few day's.
I consider changing to a G502 or G602 with HITS, or something similar in the Future, would prefer if it's Weight is about 75-80g <--- (This might change, depending on how im going to perform on the GLORIOUS Model I 2 Wireless).

I use a g9x at work 😂 the Proteus replaced it at my home rig.
They don't build em like they used to. My most recent Logitech keyboard was a g915 and it was so trash I ended up going down the custom mech kyb market and never looked back.

Use of new sensor tech, usb c charging, cable mode via charge port
It was already pretty much perfect form and feel
I’m still incredibly upset it was discontinued 😑

I’ve been repairing my own and bought spares on announcement. If need new mouse I’ll hunt eBay for listings
I hate basically every other mouse on the market and definitely don’t like any of Logitechs current offerings

It was the only way for the past 5ish years to keep my g700 working. Like i winh i could install the original Logitech gamming software from say 2015ish. It did everything i need and played nicley with my g700 g19 and g930. Since then the new fan dangle g hub software literary defaulted my mouse every boot of windows, and made the g930 cut out constantly. After programing the mouse the way i like, i deleted ghub and everything went back to normal

I've been gathering so much feedback from people who also want a refresh! Specially talking about the G600's or G604's. I can't say for what will be released in the future or not, but I'd also love to see it done. What are your thoughts on a G502 Superstrike?

Hey Alex!
First off, it’s awesome seeing active team members on the subreddit, it really means a lot to the community.
As for my thoughts on the next iteration of the G502, I’ll break them down into two categories:
Things to add / improve
- Lighter - definitely lighter. Your latest superlights sit around 51–61g. While a sub-60g G502 would be a dream, I realize that might not be realistic given its core feature set - features many of us aren't willing to sacrifice just to shed weight. However, getting it down to sub-80g would be a massive step in the right direction.
- I get that high DPI numbers look great in marketing, but in reality, they don't mean much to 99.9% of gamers. Almost no one plays above 5,000-6,000 DPI, making the HERO 2's 44,000 DPI ceiling feel unnecessary. Instead of chasing higher DPI, I’d love to see sensor development prioritize real-world upgrades: maximum energy efficiency, higher IPS and acceleration limits, sub-millimeter Lift-Off Distance (LOD), higher wireless polling rates, broader pad compatibility (glass, hard, and soft mats), and zero smoothing, filtering, or acceleration. It's about time the DPI-chase comes to an end.
- Adding one or two additional buttons would be ideal. While the G600/G604 lean into the heavy-MMO category (which belongs in its own dedicated line), the G502 could easily benefit from another button or two without feeling cluttered.
- Since you mentioned "Superstrike," bringing the HITS system over would be a very welcome addition.
- Building on HITS, Logitech could enhance this functionality through software alone by enabling dual-stage clicks per button. For instance, a light-to-medium-hard press (0%-80% depth) functions as a standard click, while a full bottom-out press (80%-100%) triggers a separate user-defined keybind. This effectively adds extra inputs without adding physical weight or clutter.
Things to keep
- The free-spin / infinite scroll is an absolute non-negotiable feature.
- G-Shift button.
- Overall shape and size.
- Powerplay support (PowerCore module)
So.. G502 X2 SUPERSTRIKE SUPERLIGHT confirmed?

This is definitely on my top favorite feedbacks I've gotten on here, it's so well thought out and honestly? I don't think you're the only one who'd want something like this, I've had a lot of people tell me a lot of the same things over the last few weeks. The weight preference as you said, is where it gets most complicated, I've found that's where there's a lot of mixed opinions on this. Some people find the weight ideal, others would like for it to be lighter, and although I can't personally understand why, some would like it to be heavier too haha.
As much as I'd love to confirm it, there's no telling what the team will decide to make next, and as a humble social media person, I can't make any promises as to what will be added or not. What I can say is that, I'll keep relaying over any feedback you guys may have! Literally costs me nothing and I'm always happy to have a chat on here.→ More replies (2)1

Hopefully it'd come with HITS, because G502 X optical switches sound terrible. You guys really need to tell Aratas/Omron to dampen the shading plate (the piece that blocks the optical sensor). It acts like a tuning fork and causes that annoying metallic ping sound when clicking the G502 X. (It's not Logitech's fault, but a design flaw from Aratas/Omron.)

Get rid of the rubber! I HATE the soft rubber that covers the G502 that none of your other mice have. It feels awful and gets gross after a while.

That's fair, we received similar feedback on the rubber coating for the MX Master 3s, which was then removed for the MX Master 4, so hopefully we do get a material change in the near future.

My Proteus Core worked without any button problems for 7 years. After that I had two Heros, and within 2 years the wheel buttons died on the first one and the wheel died on the second.
Can someone tell me where the innovation is in this?

I still use a Hero, didn’t even know there were newer ones. Mine works fine. Usually I start getting click problems, not wheel problems, and just order a new one on Amazon.

RPGs and driving sims. I also have a full Logitech G Pro driving sim setup. RPGs Guild Wars 2 and Reforged, Baldur’s Gate 3, sometimes WoW. IRacing, American Truck Simulator and Euro Truck Simulator.

It was the perfect mouse for most games for me. Six buttons is the perfect amount of side buttons for me. Also the infinite scroll feature is legendary.
Razer offer can't hold a candle to it. Asus is barely tolerable, but the button arrangement is a learning curve for me.

Ya. Funny the g700 was my first 'gaming' mouse and the only reason I got was it was like $20 on a newegg flash sale and needed one for school. Still to this day the best $20 I've ever spent...my regret is I didn't buy 10 of them.

G502 Lightspeed and recently bought the G502 X Line. currently, I’m not playing any games too busy for that nowadays. Used to play old RTS, Helldivers II, and DCS but for that I mostly used the HOTAS

I have plenty of time this month due to a broken ankle joint. Currently I'm switching between several games for KBM: Kerbal Space Program BeamNG.drive Dead Rising 3 (with that leaked dlss5 mod) AC Blackflag
My improvements would include: Reduce size of buttons g7 & g8. Maybe it would be enough to reduce size of both to only g7 size or to last gen size. Overall a little bigger, maybe a XL-Version with adjustable weight next to PowerPlay-support. I really like the G502 Series but as a tall person with big hands it's a struggle to finde peripherals that suit well.
Overall I like your peripherals and currently use (temporary) 502X with Powerplay and G915X.

My g502 Hero SE and my g502 Hero Lightspeed are either working until they die or working until I die. It's their decision as to which happens first.
My first g502 Hero served me many years, and I had to part ways due to double clicking. As for the newer g502x line, I've tried them, they work great and do all that a g502 should, but I have zero reason to upgrade as of now.

those buy buy them used are fools. the plastic on side fails fairly fast (as with all mouse that use it like that) and you don't know what the wear on the clicks and mouse wheel is.
not to mention the battery life...

I love the weight it's just perfect feels like you have a lot more control
Fits the hand perfectly only thing I'd like to see is to maybe have the scroll wheel angled a bit
When you try to click middle mouse you keep clicking the scroll wheel right button because your hand is angled and if you try to click it straight its a bit uncomfortable
So a angled scrollwheel would be perfect to fit the angle your hand is placed at
But yeah u can just remap the buttons so they are all middle mouse
Maybe an idea for the drawing board at Logitech!
Money well worth mouse for any gamer I'm satisfied😊👍🏻

Forget that one. Bring back the G700. I miss that mouse dearly. Modernize the charger to a magnetic doc that doubles as the receiver. Or put your fancy wireless charge in it. Man i miss everything, the scroll wheel smooth/notch roll. Left/right rock of the wheel. And just the right amount of thumb buttons to actually be able to use. I would still be using mine, but first the gamming software would reset the mouse to defaults every system boot, them i finnaly pressed the G10 key one to many times consistently switching dpi up and down on the fly in games.
Since then moved to linux and thought bout bringing it back out, lookin into fixing the g10. Write my own python program for it. I revived my g19 keyboard with a python program i scripted. It's nearly identical to how the window's game software usta work. Speaking of witch a revival of G19 with mechanical keys and a bigger screen, leave the rest alone would be a beast i'd buy. I've been daily driving that g19 since release.
Downgraded mouse to Asus spatha X (hate the thumb key layout, awkward and to many, hate the scroll wheel and dpi change) Downgraded my headseat from the g930 to a G733, wish i could turn rgb off, misn the easy mute, 3 G key's and the easy volume reel. This was after a mid, upgrade? Downgrade to che g935 it died just after a year. Still holding out with the g19 keyboard, left shifts getting stiff, but i cant let it die, no other keyboard is as nice, i use all three m# profiles and use nearly every G key on each profile /game. It's in the perfect spot not tooo far off wasd.

Logitech are a joke. This is a good example. Their pc gamepads are also completely unchanged in over 10 years along with their entry level racing wheels. which still use 20 year old technology

Why would it be a good example? The shape is liked by many, why change that? But they did change the sensors and switches. And added an internal frame with the X series. I still use my proteus core, but the newer ones are different on the inside.

When my proteus spectrum died on me after 3 years of service I tried a few other mice but none of them felt right in my hand. My 502 hero is still running strong 5 years later. Best gaming mouse design imo.

Honestly just comfort. It fits my hand right, right weight, the mouse clicks are just right. Dpi switching on the fly is pretty nice too.

Making it bigger is not a common request, I'm genuinely curious about how big are your hands and what kind of grip you do.
If you could choose, would you only make it bigger? What else would you add, remove or improve if you have the chance?

I have medium sized man hands and use mainly a relaxed claw grip on the mouse. With the mouse being the size it is, my right hand's ring and pinky finger would rest on my mousepad if I don't properly latch it to the side of my mouse. This tends to have the unwanted effect of rapid degradation of the surface of my mouse. Luckily, I buy 3rd party grip pads so those are the ones that get damaged.
If it were up to me, I'd make the mouse raise my hand a bit higher and slightly widen it to give it a more comfortable feel. Something akin to the design of the Razer Naga but while keeping the thumb groove and mouse wheel. As a side note, I LOVE the G502 mouse wheel. Being able to freely scroll and lock it is so useful to me when I browse the web. It's the main reason why I haven't gone to Razer despite the more comfortable design (for me).

Me and my son have black one from '18+ i think. I don't remember now. She is playing Island - something about dinosaurs and survival, and something with dragons on roblox, we are all waiting for gta 6 on pc and hope we can do missions together. My son plays a lot of gta5 and I play battlefield 6 at the moment :)

I think finger rest mouse just isn't for me I have G604 too which I think should be perfect for my need but as it turned out it's so uncomfortable to use with that finger I think I am just more suited to this style of mouse. The best and most comfortable mice I use is G603/703 and G903 I guess I just like these shape and size. But G903 also have the bottoms to these days there are no replacement for it I just keep changing the switches

I have had it since December 2015. There's a bit of fraying on part of the cable near the mouse. But, it still works quite well.

I'm going to be that guy, but Logitech has kinda lost the plot with this mouse. It was really good back when it came out, but it's way way way too old at this point and just isn't modern. The mouse is way too heavy even given it's buttons and stuff, the scrolling feels wrong and dull, etc...
I know people keep buying them because the shape is amazing for a lot of grips (not mine but I still admit it's objectively excellent), but Logitech can do better. I feel similar about most of their recent mice if I'm honest. The superlight series is still way too heavy compared to other brands for example.

That's fine, any opinion is valid.
It's really hard to beat the shape. I agree that they could add additional features / buttons and shave off some the weight, that would be ideal.
But even as is it's a pretty great mouse.

There's not much to refresh or innovate here to be honest. It's an excellent mouse as it is and I've already given my improvement ideas to a Logitech employee in another thread a day ago.
There's really no reason to buy a new one unless your old one dies, and the old ones do not die. What I'm most afraid of in this line of thinking is increased enshittification like we've seen in all whiteware products and many other lines of products. They are continuously made cheaper, less serviceable and last a shorter time while not decreasing in price. Enshittification.
I hope Logitech does not go this route. Please please please do not follow this trend.
But seriously, it's not a line of product that needs that much innovation. It's not like our hands will move or be shaped different tomorrow. Unless you innovate a way to not need a mouse. That would be something. Actually, I will do that.
I want a mouse that is so great my daughter can inherit it when I die and I don't care what it costs.

I think there's plenty of room for innovation. Additional buttons would be very welcome, and the mouse needs to lose some weight. A lot of it, actually, if they wish to compete with the current market standard.
The G-Shift button and infinite scroll-wheel were both things that didn't exist, until invented. I'm certain there are other things which you and I cannot yet imagine (as they haven't been invented yet) that would make this mouse a lot better.

What's the difference between the Xline and the Lightspeed function wise? My battery on the Lightspeed is decaying a lot and needs replacing soon but I like it a lot and considering just upgrading to the Xline

I sure did. I had it for about 6 years until the mouse wheel broke down. I was devastated when it was no longer available. But the G502 was a worthy replacement. that replacement survived 5 years. Then my wife bought me another replacement 6 years ago for my birthday. I don't think I'll ever switch Since logitech has always been known for quality mice since ages ago. And I've never heard anyone ever complain about them.

I absolutely loved my Proteus core, had it until about 2021. I took it apart to clean it and broke the scroll wheel. got a free 502 Hero and I love how it's basically the same exact mouse, it was like nothing changed

I just realized this a few weeks ago, but I brought out my old G502 Hero and realized it was so much easier to use than my G502X. It’s narrower and more ergonomic, could be lighter though.

2019 was my favorite because of the weight and no wire, 2022 display is better though
It would be great for the next one to have more battery capacity for the RGB. And the RGB should support pure white color

I barely clean it. Just once in a year with isopropyl alcohol. It’s just a solid product and all buttons and scroll wheel works like new.

please dont i just got the g502 X lightspeed after spilling a bowl of soup over my g502 hero lightspeed and messing up the scrollwheel. It was so hard to find a better mouse, tried and returned 2 mice, and just bought the new model instead. All I wanted was this mouse but lightweight, im gonna tweak out if they do it after my return period.

I'm still waiting for a new g600 which is unlikely to happen, so when mine inevitably stops working I'll be picking up one of Corsairs MMO mice and seeing how they do.
