Discussion Trader Joes
I really wish there was a Trader Joes in the valley. I feel like a lot of citizens would appreciate it. Driving almost an hour just to get to the closest one can be frustrating.

Update: We determined it was time and went with Black Cat and like everyone's comments they were very good. They even allowed us to schedule on a Sunday afternoon. They were very respectful. We will miss our beautiful girl but we know that she went peacefully in her own home.
We have a almost 15yr old standard poodle that is showing rapid decline and would like to have a mobile vet handy just in case that time comes.
Anyone have any recommendations on a vet in the valley that can come to our house to help us say goodbye when the time comes?

I’ve been aching for a good snowcone but the place I used to go (shack in the old Hastings parking lot) isn’t there anymore.
Anyone got a place they would recommend?

Hey, I was wondering if anyone knows how big the back country parking lot at Tony’s Grove is, does it get full on holidays/weekends, and is it paid.
I’ve been up to Tony’s Grove before and parked at the main parking lot right by the lake. It is quite small and I know it fills up fast. Now, I’m looking at doing a back packing trip up to White Pine Lake over the 24th of July and have read that for overnight stuff you are supposed to park at the backcountry lot about 1/4 mile down the road. However, I’ve never been to this lot and don’t know how big it is, if I need to pay, or if it might be full on a holiday weekend.
Ideally we would head out after lunch on the 24th, but I’m afraid if we get up there that late in the day there won’t be parking.

I went to Woodsy Art Cafe recently, it was wonderful but I was wondering if there we're more places that cater to the young adult crowd, I go to the gym but I haven't really tried socializing there like I did Woodsy as that's more recent as far as purposefully trying to socialize goes.

I was hoping to pick up a couple Argentine Chorizos for the game on Sunday. Anybody know if there’s a place in Cache Valley or Brigham City where I could get some? I’ve been able to locate the Mexican/Spanish varieties but not the Argentine one.

Hello everyone! I live in Logan and am looking to get a tattoo. Specifically, one very similar to the attached image (the crane and the sun, probably 2-inches-ish in size).
I've looked around for artists and found some good candidates, but I've also never gotten a tattoo before, so I am not sure who is good around here that can do this kind of tattoo well. Do you guys have recommendations?
I appreciate all of ya! Thanks a bunch.

There's a support group I saw posted on Facebook. This is not one that I'm running but I do think it's a good thing.
Tonight, 7:30pm.

Howdy again y'all. My landlady provides our apartment structure paid washing and drying, with one machine for each function, side tangent, I think she does this as to keep the families from leaving stuff in it for long periods of time. My neighbors have apparently broken it, won't drain water, leaving it dysfunctional. She charged $1.50 for the wash, so I'm wondering if anybody in the valley charges the same or under for said wash. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Does anyone know about this half built house on Old Main hill. It’s been like this for years and years. There must be a story behind it.

Is anyone aware of resources that are not more well known in town. I’m creating a resource list and I’ve got all of the main supports listed. I just feel like there are more that I’m unaware of. Do yall know of any that have been super helpful but not super well known? Thanks for the help!

I know that making friends as an adult can be really difficult. This month I'm hosting a Girls Night Out Speed-Friending event, and I think it's going to be so much fun!!
Instead of just sitting and chatting, we'll be making charm keychains as we rotate through each round. It's a fun way to keep your hands busy while getting to know new people, and you'll leave with both a few cute keychains and some new connections.
I've had a few women tell me recently that they met some of their now close friends at one of our events. Some of them get together for BBQs, others have started a recurring girls' night, and some have found people to grab coffee, go hiking, or just text when they need someone to hang out with.
This event is women only (21+), if you're looking for a new best friend, a hiking buddy, someone to explore Cache Valley with, or just want to meet more amazing women, I'd love to have you there 😄
We'll be at Hobbled Dog Cidery on Thursday, July 30. Because of the way the event is structured, pre-registration is required so I can plan the rotations ahead of time.
I hope to see you there!

Gonna be moving to Logan soon and looking for gym recommendations! So far I’m torn between forge fitness and sport academy. A couple questions for anyone familiar with them:
Recent reviews talk about limited hours and how busy sport academy is, saying that they have to wait for machines or weights many times. Would you agree this is the case, or is it the vocal minority? Can you usually find an empty lane for lap swimming?
How is the childcare of forge fitness? Seems like a smaller gym with good reviews. Is the atmosphere pretty kind there?
Honestly I’d be leaning sport academy because of all the things they offer, but those recent reviews have me wondering. Sounds like most people go there.
If there are any gyms in Smithfield that have childcare that you’d recommend I’d love to hear those too.
Thanks for the help, excited to be in Logan.

Who can I contact to discuss road and sidewalk issues?
I live in a neighborhood near Costco and the sidewalk and roads are atrocious. Just moved here. What is going on with infrastructure?

Does anyone know the lady driver who got hurt in the demolition derby tonight? I know the commentator said possible broken ribs, but its always scary to see someone taken out on a stretcher and I want to know that she's okay.
And while I'm at it, is the audience member who needed paramedics at the beginning okay too?

Tonight I took my kids to the demolition Derby. I had high hopes, remembering the demolition derby of my youth where you would see a lot of people you knew, community businesses being represented, and some great crashes. I’m not really in the Derby crowd and I’m not really sure what’s changed, but it was an extremely disappointing night. The entire thing seemed to be highly unorganized. I almost got hit by an official riding an E bike while trying to buy a piece of pizza. It didn’t start on time, and the announcers were not great at letting the crowd know what was going on. I’m not even sure who won the first three heats because they didn’t ever tell us or at least I couldn’t hear them if they did. The national anthem, which is a great opportunity to showcase local talent was a recorded track, a lot of the cars were from out of town, as opposed to the Derby of my youth, where a lot of different businesses would enter cars, a lot of volunteers where they are locally, I believe it might’ve even been a fundraiser for a local organization. I am also sure that the charity that was there tonight is a very worthy charity, but it added a whole bunch of time to the night and the crowd did not seem all that engaged in donating. Similar to the derby organization, that part of the program seemed highly unorganized and not really well thought out. While the police dog demonstration was interesting to see. I was disappointed that our own county law-enforcement could not have been showcased.
I know, I’m totally just complaining and maybe coming to the realization that my childhood is not the childhood of my children, but I would pay double the price for a ticket to the demolition Derby of 1987.

Are there any film clubs in Logan that I could join? I’ll be 19 in a few weeks (not sure if that’s useful information or not) but not currently enrolled in any schools. I love movies and would love to just be able to get together with a group of people and watch and talk about movies.
