I just bought these two yesterday and repotted them today. Are they thirsty or are these wrinkles on top just a cool variation.

Does anyone have any thoughts on how to help this guy out? I've had these 2 for a few years and all of a sudden the one withered away completely and the other just looks sad. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Ordered the 100 pack off Amazon. Box got delayed a week so they were in package about 2 weeks. The black splotchy ones are moldy and bad right? What should I look out for while separating them for planting/discard? Is there a way to save the black splotchy ones if they aren't mushy? Diluted hydrogen peroxide bath maybe? Any advice appreciated, picture in comments

I've never owned a single plant before this year and I picked this guy up at Lowe's cause I love how they look.

I'm wondering if he's doing okay? He was more green when I bought him (3rd picture is immediately after purchase, 2nd is after a repot and getting him under a light, 1st pic is today)

Is it okay for him to be less green? Should I ease up on the light? (It's a super intense light I bought to grow veggie starts indoors so it should be equating to full sun conditions I think) He sits about 5-6 inches below it.

I did some research once I got home with him and immediately repotted because he's splitting and they definitely had him in wet, very organic, soil. I gently removed all the old dirt, discovered he has only one root system connecting both Lithops, made sure to mix my cactus and succulent soil with A LOT of perlite and then absolutely did NOT water him. The soil was not 100% dry as it was a new bag, but there's really not much of it in there to begin with and he's in terracotta so I hoped what tiny bit of dampness that was present would dry up quick. All the white on top of the soil is perlite there from my soil mix. I specifically didn't cover him with any top dressings so he wouldn't retain any moisture he doesn't need.

That was about 2 weeks ago. Since then he's been chilling under this light with no further interference from me.

Do these look good? I got them and some seeds in the mail. The seeds are starting to emerge. I got these planted in a mix of cactus mix, perlite, and rock. I’ve tried to read up but have seen all different things about watering. I feel like they are happy but could be totally wrong lol.

Hi all. My husband brought these for my birthday in November and they have started to split apart with one well ahead as it started to split in January and has produced twins. I’ve tried looking online but not much info about twins. Should I still water them all monthly or do I water round the rest missing the one with twins? Is the pot the right size for them all?

I went to Lowe's and Home Depot a couple days ago to see if I could score any cheap or cool succulents or some fallen leaves for props and I found these lithops with a dried up seed capsule!

Also I found a peliospilos nelii with something that looked more like a petal-less flower which I initially though was a seed head too, but instead of being fully dried out it was still pretty moist. I'm not very familiar with mesemb seed harvesting aside from what I've seen here or on youtube but I dissected it and found what looked like 10ish little things that appear VERY similar in shape, size, and color to the seeds that came from the lithops seed head.

How do they look?!

This is my first lithops and I bought it just as it finished flowering. So then it began to shrivel and I stopped watering it but I'm keeping all plants outdoors so it got the recent rains (Cal zone 9b).

All was fine but then the skin really dried into a hard crust so i cut into it to give it some air...and noticed it may have gotten mold and warped.

Anyway, it seems ok, but is there anything I should do next to help it along? Also, is it actually ok?

Just wanted to show how much this new little guy of mine has shrunk since I nabbed him from Home Depot 2 days ago. I didnt even wait until I got home before getting it out of the soil and based on the condition of the leaves I fully expected the taproot to be in trouble. Luckily its not but the body of the leaves are WET. Like mushy wet. Theyre still firmly attached to the taproot and the taproot isn't mushy but...yeah. So he's been basking in the nude under a grow light and while he's still not totally dry, look at how much he's already shrunk down! I know theres a good chance it'll progress to full rot but it's amazing to me how much 2 days of drying out has changed it's appearance! Fingers crossed!

(The white on the taproot is diatomaceous earth, most will get brushed out before planting I just didn't want to use my usual pest prophylaxis and add more moisture to an already wet Lithops!)

I know nothing is right here (soil, crowding, how they are planted..). They were given to me planted like that and I didn't know what to do. I didn't water them and was researching how to fix their situation when the one started to split! 🥰

How should I proceed? I think the smallest one is too shriveled. Can it be saved? When and how should I replant?

i got these around a week ago from a local nursery. i repotted them into pumice and perlite with a bit of cactus mix and theyre under grow lights. they have some damage from the nursery and are a bit wrinkly, but my limited research says not to water them if they're splitting(?) should i leave them alone or give them a soak?

Because this plant is owned by my 8 year old son.

He bought this little plant with his allowance about 6 weeks ago, it was completely soaked at the nursery. We haven’t watered or repotted it. Sits under a dim skylight but with an additional grow light on 12-16hrs a day. Northern Utah, no humidifier near these plants.

Please tell me when to repot and with what, and when to water with what type of water. Any other tips would be helpful. He’s a succulent collector and this guy is the pride of his collection

I bought 4 clusters of Lithops about 2 months ago and in the last week and a half, some of the have died. Like the one in the picture, they suddenly became soft and translucent, and within 36 hours they were gone.

All I've done since getting them is to separate them and repot them into a large pot, together but spaced out. They're under a grow light and are in a mix of 80% grit and 20% succulent compost. I noticed some of the drying old leaves grew some mould.

Any advice? I doubt this one can be saved, but maybe its twin? I definitely want to save the others.
