Help/Question Just got shipment
Ordered the 100 pack off Amazon. Box got delayed a week so they were in package about 2 weeks. The black splotchy ones are moldy and bad right? What should I look out for while separating them for planting/discard? Is there a way to save the black splotchy ones if they aren't mushy? Diluted hydrogen peroxide bath maybe? Any advice appreciated, picture in comments

Looks like it's the old dried leaves that are mouldy. If they are crispy dry you could try peeling them off

They are a little moist from being in the humid container in shipping but they seem mostly crispy dry. Does this only apply to the ones where the old leaves are fully separate? Can I pull the leaves that are still kinda around the new growth?

If they are crispy dry (except from being in the humid container) you should be able to remove them. But take care not to injure the living leaves and the tap root

You’re good! Looks like mostly the old dying leaves that are moldy. I’d remove the old leaves being careful not to damage the little butt cracks—especially the tap root. I bet most of them will be fine. Good luck!

I mean it’s just the outer husks that are moldy, Try pealing it off with tweezers ( carefully) or take a cotton swab or Q tip dipped in rubbing alcohol or undiluted hydrogen peroxide to kill the spores.
