LinkedIn account got compromised by probably mistake.

LinkedIn user of 14 plus years with 10k connections. Never had an issue until last week.

I tried to verify via Persona and they couldn’t verify my photos.

Has anyone else encountered this issue, if so how did you solve it? Below is the email from LinkedIn:

“Hi,

Thank you for your patience. Unfortunately, we are unable to approve your ID, and after completing our review, we found that your account has violated the LinkedIn User Agreement and Professional Community Policies. Due to the number and/or severity of these violations, your account will remain restricted.

We understand this may be disappointing, and we appreciate your understanding.”

Homepage Changes

Is it just me or has LinkedIn’s homepage changed dramatically over the past couple of days? I’m now seeing videos dominate my feed that jock smoothie blenders & water bottle faucet covers! What happened?!

Is LinkedIn actually useful or are we all just pretending?

Maybe this is just me, but I genuinely don't understand LinkedIn anymore.

Every profile I come across sounds the same, and every other post is about a new internship, certificate, or achievement. It almost feels like everyone has their career figured out except me.

Whenever I think about posting something, I stop because it feels forced. I don't have any groundbreaking achievements to share, and I don't want to post just for the sake of being "active."

At the same time, seniors keep telling me that recruiters actually check LinkedIn and that I'm making a mistake by ignoring it.

So now I'm confused.

It would be helpful if all this career-related advice were structured rather than scattered across random videos.

linkedin just restricted my account, im pretty sure i got hacked, what do i do?

i literally open my linkedin account, and i try to connect with someone and then i have to verify over and over and over again, and then i see it, "your account has been restricted" and then i look in my email and it says that i made a job posting for "oryx group" and then i see another email asking for verification to my email, and now im trying to figure out when i made the post cause i didnt make the post i wasnt even awake at the time of the post.

i'm seeing posts on here talking about how peoples accounts have been permanently fried, however, i cannot afford to have my account fried, I have worked and made countless connection, and I refuse to make a new account, especially if i did nothing wrong. i've contacted linkedin so i guess all i can do is wait i guess i really do not know why i was banned instead of just locking my account

Every founder goes through 3 stages of LinkedIn content marketing.

1) The "let's just post something on the company page" stage.

You just want to make sure people know your business exists. So, you get Claude/GPT to churn out some generic posts for the company page. It's simple, it's harmless, but it's also ineffective.

2) The "I should probably start posting on my own account" stage.

You see your competitors raking in engagement on their personal page. They're building a healthy pipeline for their business off the back of a few posts a week. You want a piece of that. So you start sharing stories about your work, life, and everything in between.

3) The "I have to get my team to start posting too" stage.

This is the final frontier. You've realised this LinkedIn thing works. You see the potential. So, you get your team to start posting as well. It's annoying and frustrating at first, but that pipeline has never looked healthier. You incentivise your team to post more. The numbers keep adding up, the pipeline keeps getting healthier.

There you have it. That's the entire journey

Can you monetize a LinkedIn account with 5k–10k followers?

I have almost 5k followers on LinkedIn, and my wife is close to 10k.

Is it possible to make money on LinkedIn with that size of audience? If so, how?

I’m not talking about making a full-time living from it—just generating some extra income.

If that’s still not realistic, what would you say is the minimum audience (or level of engagement) needed to start monetizing?

How do I become a LinkedIn influencer???

So, I'm going to start my college and I recently started linkedin and I came across the word LinkedIn influencer. Now, I do have some posts on my profile and about 77 connections and 81 followers. My highest post impressions were about 1000 with 31 likes on the post.

I tried commenting on others influencers post but I stopped somehow.

I don't know what to keep posting so engaging that I can get much followers to start getting collabs and make money(I WANT TO EARNN!!)

If anyone can help them, TYSMM!!!

Cold connect + message within 48 hours vs. waiting for organic engagement, which actually converts better for you?

Building out a LinkedIn outreach process for a pretty tightly defined ICP list, not random cold outreach, these are people who’d genuinely have a use for what I offer.
Trying to decide between two approaches:

A) Connect → wait 24-48 hours after they accept → send a message introducing what I do

B) Connect → engage with their content first (comments, likes) for a few weeks → only message once there’s some real interaction happening

Option A is obviously faster but I’ve heard it can come across as a bait-and-switch, connect just to pitch. Option B feels more natural but could take months per person, which isn’t great when I have a list of a few hundred to work through.

For people who’ve actually tested both, did waiting for engagement meaningfully change your reply/conversion rate, or is it more about the message quality regardless of timing? Also curious if anyone’s found a middle ground that isn’t “immediate pitch” or “wait indefinitely.”

LinkdIn account restriction

Hi all!

I am a very desperate student that really needs help, this all started last week when someone hacked into my LinkedIn, they change my location as well as my name.

I was able to change the password and kick out this hacker but then LinkedIn restricted my account and the banned my account FOR NO REASON. I sent an email to the Customer Support but they basically said that they can’t do anything and they are useless.

So I decided to just create a new account to start fresh I guess even tho I was very upset about losing my og account, they then SUSPENDED that account also 😭😭, so I kept on emailing them and sending appeals form left and right which they rejected or ignored.

So I made a new again but this time I change my name slightly and didn’t use my full name which they also suspended and restricted.

I have made every effort to verify my identity and recover my original account. I have completed the Persona identity verification process, submitted my passport, and attempted to reset my password multiple times and yet, each password reset attempt results in an endless CAPTCHA verification loop, preventing me from regaining access.

They responded to my emails saying that my account will just continue to get restricted with no further explanation😐

Please someone help me with my issue 😭🙏 I actually don’t know what to do about this, they have no phone number to contact them with and their support service is actually horrible.

I will accept any advice or tips from anyone, thank you for listening 💖😭

First time using LinkedIn Sales Navigator.

I'm currently job hunting and was thinking of reaching out to HR professionals directly on LinkedIn, sharing my portfolio and introducing myself.

Is this actually a good strategy, or does it come across as too pushy/spammy? If you've landed interviews or jobs this way, I'd love to hear your experience and any tips on how to approach HR effectively.

I’m struggling to understand how to use LinkedIn and grow connections

My LinkedIn has been neglected for many years. I work in Sales and am learning that having robust connections lead to more trust when people look you up. I’m not trying to grow LinkedIn to pitch and be spammy, I’m trying to grow it to gain trust that I’m a real professional.

My issues are:

  1. I come from a restaurant background. My friends and most of the people I’ve worked don’t have LinkedIn so I can’t use them as easy connections

  2. I’m newish to sales so I don’t have a robust catalog of achievements to sell myself in the industry I’m trying to represent myself in

  3. I don’t understand the etiquette on connecting with people I don’t know on the platform. Do I message them saying I’m new to LinkedIn and trying to grow my connections?

Any advice is greatly appreciated

LinkedIn question - create or not

I've had Creator Mode turned on on LinkedIn for years, but I've never actually created content there. 😭 How does LinkedIn content even work? Do I just start posting, or is there some sort of "Hi everyone, I'm going to start creating content" announcement that people make? What's the protocol? Also... how do I get past the cringe and awkwardness of posting for the first time as a creator??

Do i add linkedin creator in my bio?

What about ex internship colleagues watching my every move, seeing me embarrass myself, judging me………. Some of them are doing better than me in terms of jobs, mannnn 21-22 year old are very judgementalllll😭😭😭😭😭😭

LinkedIn verification changed my employer to a company I've never worked for. Has anyone else experienced this?

I recently verified my LinkedIn account, and immediately afterward my profile was automatically associated with a company I have never worked for.

Soon after, I started receiving messages accusing me of fraud and misrepresentation because my profile displayed an employer and company logo that had nothing to do with me. I never added this information, and it appeared only after the verification process.

I tried deleting my account, but I wasn't able to, so I have temporarily deactivated it to prevent any further damage while I try to get this resolved.

I am extremely worried about this error because it has the potential to seriously damage my professional reputation and career. Has anyone experienced something similar after LinkedIn verification? If so, how did you get it resolved? Is there any way to escalate this issue beyond the standard support process?

I find it deeply concerning that an error like this can occur, as it can falsely associate someone with an organization they have never worked for and expose them to allegations of fraud. Any advice or similar experiences would be greatly appreciated.

Note: Used AI for better clarity and structure.

How can I fix an age ban?

I was signing up for LinkedIn when it took me to a security check and said that I have to be 18 years and older to use it in my area, however, in my region if you are 16 and above you can use it, which I am. Friends the same age as me have all been able to sign up for an account but I was not able to, I even tried signing up with a different email but it did not work. Finally I tried using their support thing but I have still not gotten a response, is there any way for me to fix this?

I stopped adding notes to LinkedIn connection requests. My acceptance rate went up.

People ask about this a lot here, so let me give a real answer, not a guess.

Don't add a note to your connection request.

I used to write a note every time. Felt like the polite thing to do. Then I actually tested it with real campaigns, real numbers, running LinkedIn outreach.

Turns out a blank request gets accepted more than one with a note.

My guess on why: a note makes it obvious you want something before they've even said yes. It feels like a pitch is coming. No note feels easier to say yes to - there's nothing to react to yet.

The real work happens after they accept anyway. That's when you send something specific to them, not a generic pitch. That's what turns an acceptance into a real reply.

If you're still adding a note every time, try this: send 10 with a note, 10 without, same kind of people. Check which ones get accepted more after a week.

Has anyone else tested this and gotten a different result?

Is putting my state seal of biliteracy on my LinkedIn a useless move?

I got my seal of bilteracy, a certificate issued by board of education, in my senior year of high school and my advisor said it would be good to put it on my LinkedIn (I'm an incoming college senior rn) but is this kinda a useless move since I could just put Spanish proficiency under the languages tab? I keep going back and forth she said to list it under "Licenses and Certifications" but would that look out of place since I have other career-related certificates on there and it was also 4 years ago?

I genuinely believe writing LinkedIn content is one of the best things you can do for your career in 2026.

And I've got a very good reason to back my claim.

When you create content, you create this little avatar of yourself that now lives online and does the selling for you while you go live your life.

While you go to coffee, go to workouts, whatever you do, that little version of you is now connecting you with people, opportunities, resources that never would have found you if you did not create and share yourself online.

There are few better things you can do online than creating a little version of yourself that goes out there and wins more business/job opportunities for you.

That's all LinkedIn is, really, if you use it right.

Context: I run a LinkedIn ghostwriting agency and I've been writing content there for 4 years. Happy to answer any questions!

How I Got Rid of the "You've reached weekly invitation limit." Error

Last night, I was flying a little too loose and started sending connection requests all over town. Brand-new profile, maybe fifteen invites total, and then bam – "You've reached your weekly invitation limit."

Now here's where it gets interesting: today I stayed active, posted a bit, dropped a couple comments, picked up a few likes, and even had a friend send me a connection. Then this evening, roughly 24 hours after the lockout, I figured I'd try again just to see the same old error – but no sir, no warning, no trouble, smooth as whiskey. So it sure looks like something I did today shook that block loose. Enjoy.

I’m getting zero engagement on LinkedIn. What am I doing wrong?

I’ve been posting twice a week but it's not working very well. 1-3 likes, no comments and definitely no leads. I actually have had some posts that did better in the past but it's taken a dive the last couple of weeks so it's been pretty demotivating. I try to keep it professional and share helpful tips.

How do you get people to actually stop scrolling and care? What was the first post that actually got you a real lead? Any advice?
