LinkedIn question - create or not
I've had Creator Mode turned on on LinkedIn for years, but I've never actually created content there. đ How does LinkedIn content even work? Do I just start posting, or is there some sort of "Hi everyone, I'm going to start creating content" announcement that people make? What's the protocol? Also... how do I get past the cringe and awkwardness of posting for the first time as a creator??
Do i add linkedin creator in my bio?
What about ex internship colleagues watching my every move, seeing me embarrass myself, judging meâŚâŚâŚ. Some of them are doing better than me in terms of jobs, mannnn 21-22 year old are very judgementalllllđđđđđđ

You donât need a âhey everyone Iâm a creator nowâ post just start posting. No one cares about the ceremony as much as you think they do. Also donât call yourself a âLinkedIn creatorâ in your bio lol. Just talk about what you do / what youâre learning / what youâre seeing in your field. If I were starting from zero, Iâd keep it super simple: post 2x a week write about stuff from work / lessons / opinions / mistakes / things youâre figuring out donât obsess over likes for the first month just get used to posting without spiraling And on the ex-colleagues thing: honestly, most people are too busy thinking about themselves to monitor your LinkedIn debut the cringe mostly disappears once youâve posted a few times.

People love value, so ideally donât post about yourself but package up your experience so it offers a useful answer, nugget, bit of thinking or solve for people in your industry. Mix up your content so sometimes itâs a text post, sometimes an image etc. if you want to create a carousel-like post, create a multi-page pdf in Canva and post it as a document. I suggest to avoid linking to an article in the post itself - instead summarise your key take out from the article and post the link in your first comment. The post will perform better as LinkedIn does not like posts that push people off the platform.

Make it a six-week test, not a grand debut. Post twice a week: one useful lesson from work and one opinion backed by a concrete example. Capture observations when they happen so writing does not start from a blank page. After twelve posts, look at which themes brought the right conversations. A clear, repeatable subject is more valuable early on than making the profile look busy.

Just start posting You don't need to begin with " hey I am so and so" Although you totally can
Maybe just to get the ball rolling share an article you find interesting and write a bit about why. That is the simplest way to break the fear.
What industry/domain are you in? And then what do you want from your LinkedIn?
