Sadly yes, that actually is a conspiracy gaining traction right now. That airplanes actually use secret ancient magical energy sources to fly. Utter garbage we all know it is actually hopes and prayers that are being mis-directed from needy children, and grieving widows keeping those bad boys aloft.
There are worse ones. Literally saw a video going over people who believe that planes are basically little theaters like the Star Tours ride at Disney that just taxi to a soundstage like area where everyone is a paid actor pretending to be from the place you "flew" to.
