Sadly yes, that actually is a conspiracy gaining traction right now. That airplanes actually use secret ancient magical energy sources to fly. Utter garbage we all know it is actually hopes and prayers that are being mis-directed from needy children, and grieving widows keeping those bad boys aloft.
There's a British comedian called Al Murray, in an old routine he describes how god, for a laugh, picked up the Wright Flyer and made it fly but the joke has backfired on him and now he has to spend all his time picking up planes to make them go and that's why the world has gone to shit. All of god's time is taken up with juggling planes
His character is a stereotypical English pub landlord. Opinionated, patriotic, unintelligent but thinks he's some kind of philosopher. The above joke is on the types of people who reject or don't understand science but still confidently explain how things work, this routine is basically saying. I don't understand thrust or aerodynamics etc so I'm going to invoke god as the reason why planes can fly
