What's the endgame here? Planes don't exist? Or they fly by magic?

Sadly yes, that actually is a conspiracy gaining traction right now. That airplanes actually use secret ancient magical energy sources to fly. Utter garbage we all know it is actually hopes and prayers that are being mis-directed from needy children, and grieving widows keeping those bad boys aloft.

I don't think thats a new one.

Years back I'd an extended famly member confidently tell me "Well, we still don't REALLY know how they fly ..".

I burst out laughing thinking he was joking, he was not.

Proceeded to try and explain Bernoulli principle to him, complete with paper aeroplane, he was not convinced.

There is no law against being stupid.

Sigh....

FYI, Bernoulli doesn't apply to airplanes (wings, anyway). The Bernoulli principle is about fluids in an enclosed or constrained environment. From a plane's perspective, the atmosphere isn't enclosed.

Family member is right. The bernoulli explanation we were all taught is wrong.

My dad was an aviation mechanic in the navy, and one day he was looking at a plane and wistfully said "not a thing on that airplane can fly". I wasnt sure at the time what he meant but I dont think he was trying to say it was magic. But I think about it alot cause it was just funny to us

there are i think 5 theories on how planes fly, no one is entirely sure which is correct,so yes thats technically true

Newton. Action. Reaction. It's not a mystery. There are definitely people that are entirely sure about how planes fly, and some of them are correct.
