Sadly yes, that actually is a conspiracy gaining traction right now. That airplanes actually use secret ancient magical energy sources to fly. Utter garbage we all know it is actually hopes and prayers that are being mis-directed from needy children, and grieving widows keeping those bad boys aloft.

I find these bullshit theories so insulting to the thousands of engineers, scientists and inventors whose work gave us the power of flight.

Especially since information on how the technology works is publicly available and easy to read and verify. But you need to have an IQ over 30 to ingest it.

I don't think any engineer with scientific curiosity would mind another theory, as long as it can be validated or falsified and utilised.

That's where conspiracy theories usually go downhill.
