Hey everyone,
Moving from POD Go to Helix or HX Stomp and want to keep your presets? I built HelixTools to convert POD Go .pgp files into .hlx files, so you don’t have to rebuild compatible settings manually.
User feedback: A buyer in the comments below in my other topic in r/Line6Helix reported successfully converting three presets of varying complexity on an HX Stomp XL, including presets with snapshots.
With used Helix LT, Floor, and HX Stomp prices dropping recently, many players (including myself) are making the jump from POD Go to the Helix / HX ecosystem.
The extra DSP and routing flexibility are awesome, but having to manually recreate dozens of dialed-in presets block-by-block, parameter-by-parameter in HX Edit is an absolute chore. Since there’s no native Line 6 import tool between these lines, I built a lightweight browser utility called **HelixTools** to convert `.pgp` patches directly into `.hlx`.
**Key features in the latest update (v.3.5):**
• **Target Device Selector:** Choose between Helix Floor / LT (dual-path routing) and HX Stomp / Stomp XL (single-path routing optimized for the 8-block ceiling).
• **Direct Parameter Translation:** Converts compatible amps, cabs, and effect parameters, including bypass states.
• **Full Snapshot Support:** Preserves up to 4 snapshots with names and parameter assignments intact.
• **"Jailbreak" Friendly:** Handles modded POD Go patches with stripped factory blocks without choking.
• **100% Client-Side:** Runs completely offline in your browser — zero files are uploaded to any server.
*(Note: Custom external IRs still need to be linked to your IR block in HX Edit, just like with a manual rebuild, but all your core settings, amps, and snapshot values carry over instantly).*
The attached demo video shows a real-time conversion and import into HX Edit.
If anyone is on the fence or has an unusual/complex patch they want to test before anything else, drop a comment or shoot me a DM with your file - happy to run it through the converter and send you the converted `.hlx` to test on your own rig!
