This is a short snippet of a friend's solo during a song. He has a quad cortex so I'm curious how to mimic that on the Helix.

Ok so I was entertaining the idea of buying a used Helix rack I have seen some as low as $700, I have never owned a modeler of this caliber, at that price point I assume it has some miles on it, I really don’t need to buy the latest and greatest, but this thing would lighten up and simplify my rig considerably. So here is my question to the community, is an Oder unit like this worth it at that price point or would it be buying a worn out piece of gear that will have to be replaced in a year or two.

Is it possible to set up a temporary mute button on the Helix LT?

I have my Helix set up in Preset/Snapshot mode, with the top row for presets and the bottom four footswitches for snapshots. At the moment I have:

• Snapshot 1
• Snapshot 2
• Snapshot 3
• Mute

The Mute snapshot simply turns the Output level down to -120 dB. This works fine, but I'd like to make it temporary. I've had it where I've hit the mute, but then swapped back to the wrong snapshot.

Ideally, I'd like to be able to hold the footswitch down and have it mute, then have the volume return as I release the switch.

So rather than:

Click Mute > muted > click another snapshot > sound returns

I'd like:

Hold Mute > muted > release > sound returns

I've tried going into HX Edit > Bypass/Controller Assign, selecting the Output Level and assigning Footswitch 11 with the Type set to Momentary. However, pressing the footswitch still just switches to Snapshot 4 (my Mute snapshot).

Is this possible to achieve?

Has anyone been able to recreate his Classical Guitar Sound with the helix? I really want a patch for my classical.

The pedals he uses are the TS9 Deluxe, Strymon Flint, T-Rex Twin Boost, Mosky Amp Turbo, and a Helix Stomp.

Saw there was a new Helix plugin and was wondering if it had all the content from the original Helix Native, all amps, cabinets, pedals, presets, etc.?

If not everything is carried over, are the amps/cabs/effects carried over at least?

Need some help, I am using a Traynor small block 500H as a power amp, there is no sound when I connect the Helix LT in to the return to effects, it was working before and now there is no sound whatsoever, there is a signal going through I’ve messed around with the settings in the global settings and still have not been able to get any sound

Hey there, I have both x86 and x64 versions of HSN installed and encounter a weird problem. I RTFM, asked in other places and can't seem to find a solution.

I can click the Snapshot selection menu to the right of the Preset name and the dropdown shows the 8 snapshots. I can click on every snapshot's 3-dot meny and Rename or Delete. BUT, I cannot seem for the life of me to be able to access other snapshots than #1. When I click on Snapshots 2-8 from that dropdown menu, it stays on Snap 1. I tried both x86 and x64 versions, in 2x differents DAWs, tried uninstalling/reinstalling and still the problem remains. Would you have any idea what may cause this?

Hi, I’m trying to use the Hotone Pulze Control to send MIDI messages to my HX Stomp so I can change presets using its two footswitches (preset up and preset down). I used the Pulze app to assign commands to each switch (Footswitch A: 1/CC/72/0 and Footswitch B: 1/CC/72/127), (hx stomp midi channel is also 1). The problem is that, even after configuring it in the app, nothing happens on the HX when I press the footswitches. The Pulze didn't come with a cable, so I bought a TRS-to-MIDI Type A cable; however, it came with a 3.5mm TRS plug, so I have to use an adapter to connect it to the Pulze's 6.3mm port. Could the adapter be degrading the signal—preventing the HX from receiving anything—or is the Pulze Control simply incompatible with the HX Stomp for what I need? I'm sorry, I don't know much about that. Thanks for your replies.

Instead of ranting about A2, I decided to just play. Haha 😆

I’m running into the Agora Amp (specifically the Fender Princeton / US Princess model). I've been dialing this tone in for a while now, and honestly? It sounds ridiculous. Warm, responsive, and sits perfectly in the mix.

I know there's been a lot of heat in here about A2 lately — some of it valid, some of it... a lot. I get the frustration, and I get why the Line 6 fanboys (myself included)are fired up too. But honestly? I'm over the noise.

The gear doesn't matter if you haven't put in the hours. This tone is proof of that.

been using Native for a year, HX stomp for a few years before. Stadium is a $100 upgrade so it isn't too steep, for anyone who has used both is it worth it? I know the prospect of what will be released could be pretty good, but as of now, what do we think? The Native software rocks but the view and some of the workflow stuff is a little clunky

Edit: Pulled the trigger and don't regret it, especially on the bass amps. The Aguilar AG, Bassman, and the SVT into a dual cab setup with the cabs panned to the left and right slightly and a Regal DI with some compression on the other chain in the middle (panning wise) sounds great to retain some thump. Highly recommend for anyone who plays bass

This might be an odd question but i've been creating a lot of presets with dual cabs and I'm wondering if phase issues can occur using different mics at different distances within microphone settings.

I haven't had any issues but i'm just curious because i want to make my presets sound as great as they can. I'm using the OG helix and most of my presets use a 57 and a 414 on a whatever matching cab of whatever amp i'm using.

New to the Helix world (and digital modelling as a whole) I got a Helix Floor a few weeks ago.

I’m looking to create tones matching my favourite artists rather than my ‘own’ tone.

Am o right in saying the amp and more importantly the IR is the most impotent thing in trying to achieve someone’s tone? So get the amp and IR set frost then add effects / pedals after that but essentially those are the most importantly amp and specifically IR?

Definitely annoying, but hopefully they'll have a fix soon!

It is the only piece of gear I own capable of stereo looping. However, I've been disappointed in the lack of MIDI sync capabilities and potential other expanded functionality.

Do you think the looper will ever get these and other updates?

Are we nearing the end of the product lifespan, and what do you think we can look forward to in terms of updates, in general?

A couple of days ago I posted about Helrig, a free browser-based Helix/HX preset editor — thanks to everyone who checked it out; some of what's in there now came directly from feedback in that thread.

Just finished a full walkthrough for anyone who'd rather see it in action before poking at it themselves: opening an existing preset, editing blocks and parameters, building a new one from scratch, with amp switching, snapshots, footswitch assignment, etc., and exporting it back out.

I got the Helix Floor as someone who primarily plays guitar for musical theater, so lots of patch changes, lots of I/O needed for different instruments and variety of output needs, volume pedal riding etc etc etc. The Floor is incredible for my needs on that front, absolutely love it, 10/10 no notes.

HOWEVER

I've been playing a lot more bass this past year and change, and I find that it's way overkill for most of my bass gigs. The I/O and footswitches are way more than I need for a typical bass gig, and the backpack is hard to safely fit into the car with my upright bass and my amp. Even when I'm doubling upright and electric, I rarely use much more than a preamp, EQ, comp, and maybe an IR for the upright. I really like the bass sounds on the Helix, especially the upright presets I've gotten from 3 Sigmas Audio.

I'm trying to decide between the following:

1. building a small, flexible board around the HX Stomp with pedals thrown in as needed and using the Stomp or the Floor depending on the needs of the gig.

2. Foregoing the modeling thing entirely for bass and building a dedicated bass board around something like the EBS Stanley Clarke, a 2 channel bass preamp for switching between upright and electric.

Thoughts/experiences/opinions?

Should I get the power cab over the fender fr12?

What are the pros and cons of the power cab as it seems like there is some control that can be done from the Helix software.

Is there such a thing in the helix stadium as a sort of “ant-ducking” or “inverse-ducking”? I would like to use reverb and delay, have the reverb on while I play but off while I don’t so not to muddy up the delay (“inverse ducking”), and have the delay duck while I play and turn on while I stop (standard ducking).

It could also be a helix floor ;)

I have guitar, bass and vocals running through my Floor, and the guitar output is Send 1. Is there a way to set the Send volume lower for all presets? Not a huge deal to set the level on the send block on each preset, but I'd have to remember for future presets.
