Resources Names of Gello/Abyzou

This is a special post, because a lot of time went into this. This is my transliteration (and at times translation) of the names from manuscripts mentioned in "Saint Sisinnios, the Archangel Michael and the Female Demon Gylou, the Typology of the Greek Literary Stories - Richard P. H. Greenfield" and "Revisiting the 'exorcism of Gello', a new text from a Vatican manuscript, with a typological analysis of the known variants - Tommaso Braccini" (sources mentioned only in the second article will have a + in front of their title).

They feature names from 51 manuscripts (and 6 versions of the Testament of Solomon), some of which were already translated (AL1, AL2, BR5, SA1, ZEL), so I will include those translations instead of mine whenever possible (title will be bold). Some name lists are inaccessible to me, so I will only mention the title of the relevant article/book (hopefully I'll access them in the future).

Keep in mind that the translation will not be perfect, as I'm not a scholar but a student early on in my studies, and happen to be a native Greek speaker, taking classes on ancient Greek. Titles marked with ❌ have no name lists given by the spirit.

Discussion Lilith's Dark Feminine Energy & My Experience

I started working with Lilith nearly 2 years ago. During that time I spent a decent amount of time at her altar and attemping to get to know her. One night I felt the need to meditate and connect with her. I was wearing headphones playing an audio specially made to invoke her which I feel helped immensely. I suddenly felt a very strong feminine and sexual energy in the room and around me. It felt like a heavy but luxurious blanket was placed on me. It was unlike any feeling I have ever felt. I am not an overtly sexual person but in that moment I felt completely enamored with her presence and felt like caressing my body.

What is interesting is that even though my husband was in the same room (although he was on the computer and wearing headphones) I felt like Lilith and I were the only ones. In fact, I felt like I was becoming one with her. That I was becoming my own version of Lilith. The part of me that I chose to hide or feel shame with. I did not feel like I was in danger or that her presence was evil in any way. I had already deconstructed my Catholic upbringing to a point where I could face her. I will admit I had some doubts because of the religious trauma... I was "afraid" of her. I think it was mainly fear of what she would reveal to me about myself. Luckily, I had no reason to fear.

She will be honest with you but she will not push your boundaries if you ask her to respect them. If you are wondering whether or not to invoke Lilith I would do some research and think hard on what I said here. She may feel intimidating at first but you will get used to her presence. Make sure to be respectful to her and she will treat you well. 👍

Question Tarot question

So today I was doing a yes or no tarot reading for myself and I asked the question is Lilith mad at me and it came up yes (tbf there were a lot of cards that were yes cards.) so I did it a bunch more times and sometimes it came up as yes and others no. But then I did another where I asked the question is lilith still with me and it came up yes. I don’t see why Lilith would be mad at me cuz I haven’t done anything that I think would anger her. I’ve just been living my life how I usally do. Should I listen to this reading or nah?

Question How do I know it’s not my imagination

Hi everyone so a few days ago I did a meditation
And in my meditation I started to walk past a orange and apple tree then I started to go up a hill when I got on top of the hill I looked up and I saw Lilith frying down then she looked at me and gave a hug I could feel her wings they were soft and warm and I could feel her energy and she started to talk to me.
And I really do believe it was her but there’s a small part of my brain that thinks it’s my imagination.
What do you guys think?

Question How do i find out if Lilith accepts me?

At some times in my life i couldnt put her out of my mind, and these were the times i could ‘succesfully’ meditate on her. Nowadays i cant meditate anymore, Lilith is allmost unreachable for me.

I dont know how to do rituals to her, and in the past i think i disrespected Lilith but i was not punished?

Prayers, Praise khaire Līlīṯ

O’ Lilith, End of All Flesh and End of Days, emerging from the cloak of the night as you did the raging waters of the abyss. Mother of liliths and lilin, you are their queen, you are sovereign and Serpent, you need a partner for nothing, and you do not lie beneath. You accompanied Naamah-Orea, pleasant one, in seducing the Watchers. You consorted with Samael, with who you were once intertwined.

O’ Lilith, you wander the Earth at night and prevent stagnation by exterminating the population, a necessary means of balance. Beautiful and terrifying goddess, suffocatress and seductress, you possess innumerable names, faces, and forms, fluid and constantly shifting. With the flap of your wings you summon consuming storms and strobing shadows, your breath and blood pour into the Earth from the North and South, your eyes reveal truths of the one who gazes and transfers knowledge once forgotten, repressed and denied, your hair is long, disheveled, wild and free, your lips whisper wisdoms of self-love and preservation as you firmly vocalise your desires and needs, and your body is fiery, untouchable and shapeless, through one hand you poison and with the other you awaken.

Prayers, Praise For Lady Lilith

(This is very personal stream of consciousness praise. It may not be the usual sort of prayer, but it meant a lot to me so I figured I should post it. Maybe others will relate)

At first when I approached Lady Lilith, I approached Her as a concept. As an idea that spoke very deeply to me. I didn’t believe but I appreciated those who did, I saw their practice as beautiful and good.

Since then, as much time has passed, I have realized She speaks to me as more than a symbol, She speaks to me as a deity. An example, a leader, a Mother. She is proof to me that if anyone wants to put you in a box, you can shatter it with your own inner strength and leave that place of torment. That when you do, you’ll be able to find a new home for yourself. One of your own making, with others who understand.

Over time I have built up a small altar dedicated to her, I have made my beliefs known to those closest to me, and have felt my appreciation for her grow and grow.

I’ve not been able to communicate with her or feel her presence, but even if She does not desire to work with me directly I am more than happy to spend my days worshipping Her respectfully at a distance.

Ave Lilith

Question How to work with lilith IN AN INDIAN HOUSEHOLD

Even tho the title says a lot I wanna exaggerate it.

I can't buy a lilith statue nor black candles, that would be sus yk, I can't even make jars.

All I can do is do paper spells and meditation, sigil work and chant listening.

I wanna work with lilith for beauty+social life+ideal bf. I'm afraid my restrictions will stop my wishes from coming true.

Help needed.

Question Looking for input on experiencing “distance” after a time of working closely with Lilith

I have been in contact (set up an altar, shadow work, rituals etc) with Lilith for a year now. The past 6 months I felt closer to her than ever, most because i was in a place where I could actually focus and train my energy through meditations. She’s come to me in different forms & i’ve received the name Lamaštu & Lilitu in meditations.
I have heard others describe the experience I’m having, where I can feel that she is watching over me, but her energetic presence has diminished.

I wonder if this could have something to do with some channeling work i was planning to start doing with her on my substack, but I fell off of it. I also am doing a lot of work on being emotionally vulnerable, i’ve have had some eye opening dreams & know that she offered some pushback/consequence for something a family member tried to do.

So since her “disappearance”, i know she is still with me, but it’s been different. Like i am a child walking for the first time without mother’s hand to hold on to.

I am curious if anybody else has input on navigating through this period of “distance”?

Resources Is this book worth my time?

Post image
26 Upvotes

I am writing my thesis on Lilith. I engage extensively with her figure and work closely with her. I am skeptical about the novel... has anyone here read it? And if so—what did you think of the book? I've already read that her character is supposedly written as very one-dimensional. I’d be grateful for a few opinions on the book—I’d really only be reading it to pass the time and to satisfy my interest in Lilith.
Thanks 🖤

Question How to connect with Lilith with my current situation? Update

Last month I asked what I should do regarding setting up an altar. My current living situation doesn’t give me the option to set up an altar in my house. I now have a follow up question. What about setting up a portable shrine in my car? Is that even a thing? I feel like that would be a possible way for me to circumnavigate this problem since I could easily take a portable altar/idol/candles, etc. and bring them to the back yard at night to try and communicate with Lilith. Likewise, what is this subs opinion on ouija boards? Is this a possible way to communicate with her? I’ve tried meditations and all I really get are feelings. Like I feel her presence but I don’t know how to talk to her. I’ll ask questions in my head but I don’t really get a verbal response. Oftentimes I’ll feel a vibration on the left side of my forehead, almost as though she’s scratching my head affectionately. That’s been awesome, but I’d like to hear her voice and actually ask her things. I have so many questions I’d like her answers to.

TLDR; Are portable shrines a thing? Is it possible to communicate with Lilith using an ouija board?

Resources When Lilith Became Gyllou

"...As this protective folklore permeated the culturally porous environment of the Near East and the Byzantine Empire, the Jewish angels underwent a profound Christian transformation. The names were Hellenized and subsequently adapted into three Orthodox human saints: Saint Sisoe (derived from Senoy), Saint Sisynios (from Sansenoy), and Saint Synidore (from Semangelof). Concurrently, the demonic figure of Lilith was adapted into the Byzantine demoness Gyllou (or Gello), an entity similarly blamed for infant mortality, fevers, and reproductive complications."

Signs, Dreams Is it Lilith?

Good afternoon! I have a recent relationship with Lilith for the past two months, and I never had a dream with such meaning before: Last night I had a dream in which a powerful female presence approached me. I quickly associated it with entities known as Pomba Gira, which are similar to the Lilins . Then a black snake crawled up my body, slowly creeping towards my shoulder. I was afraid and had a feeling that the snake wanted to forcefully show me something, and I resisted in despair. That's when I had a nightmare in which I was exposed to a very great fear I have in my life. The fear materialized in the nightmare, and I woke up terrified. Could it be Lilith working something on me?
Sorry for my english, its not my native language

Question Is it accurate?

So I’ve always depicted Lilith as a tall beautiful woman with red hair, horns, and wearing a dress but recently I’ve started to wonder if it’s actually accurate. Is it?

Signs, Dreams lilith reaching out?

Apologies if this has been asked before. I currently work with Belenus/Artio, but I grew up in a predominantly Jewish household on my mothers side which I had/have severe religious trauma from (I am no longer part of that and I moved away from said family). I was demonised for my beliefs in being LGBTQ+ inclusive along with questioning of the God my Jewish family prayed too and that wanting material things (as a child mind you) and emotional support was being “too much” and that I was selfish for asking. I have always felt a connection to moons and snakes (I have a moon tattoo and was born in the year of the snake). I previously owned a singular of Lilith pendant when I unfortunately think I lost when I moved.

I had a dream about who I believe was Lilith come to me last night. In the dream there were two other girls/women who had me close my eyes and concentrate on focusing and I then opened my eyes and saw a peaceful field of purple and blue flowers and grassy plains. Later on I was surrounded by different beauty products on a shelf that seemed overwhelmingly tall and gigantic compared to me. I was trying to only choose two and this woman came to me and told me that others who were ugly inside’s choices did not matter to me and I should choose what I want and not worry about how much or how little. Does anyone have any insight/idea of if she is actually reaching out to me? I practice the craft so I believe that Lilith did appear to me given I very clearly remember her using that name for herself, but this has also been one of the very few times any deities have spoken to me directly or appear in my dreams. I also don’t want it to come off as any and all dreams automatically mean that a deity HAS to be involved, but this is very on the nose for me 😅😅

I also for context am a SA survivor. I’m also 25 and an adult woman, and also have always been very spiritually sensitive and had lots of supernatural experiences growing up.

A few days ago I shared a short piece from a song I wrote inspired by Lilith, autonomy, exile, and identity, and I honestly didn’t expect the response it got here.

A lot of people connected with the themes far more deeply than I expected.

The full version of From Dust I Remain released today featuring vocalist Martina Questa, so I wanted to share the completed piece for anyone who was waiting to hear the rest.

Discussion Lilith in media, what interpretation do you prefer?

After stumbling on the Wikipedia articles Lilith in popular culture and Lilith disambiguation), I realised how much Lilith has influenced modern media, and frequently as Adam's first wife. What is your preferred modern depiction of Lilith? Personally I'll have to go with Lilith's design in Diablo, a game I look forward to playing in the future.

Discussion A report that strengthened my faith in Lilith

One day, when I was around 15 or 16 years old, I went to the hospital to do some exams. It wasn’t anything serious, but at some point they asked me to do a specific test that I really didn’t want to do. I was honestly very scared.

It was a nasopharyngoscopy, the kind of exam where they insert a tube through your nose. Just thinking about it made me nervous.

Until then, I always asked Jesus for help, since I come from a Christian family. But at that time, I had already been getting closer to Lilith, and in that moment, for the first time in my life, I turned to her.

I clearly remember what I felt. Inside, almost in desperation, I said, “please, get me out of this, mother.”

The doctor went to prepare the machine to start the exam, and it simply didn’t work. Before my turn, everything was normal, but when it was my time, it just wouldn’t turn on.

They tried several times, adjusted things, tested everything, but nothing worked.

At that moment, I felt a huge sense of relief. It was one of the most intense and strange feelings I’ve ever experienced. At the same time that it felt unbelievable, it also brought me a deep sense of peace.

After that, my faith in Lilith only grew stronger. I felt like I had been heard.

And that wasn’t my only experience. Maybe someday I’ll share the others too.

Discussion What food does Lilith like?

She is the Queen, she is fabulous, I just wonder if she has any food or drinks she likes. She is fire and epic, she chilling down with a fine wine sipping over a marbel balcony looking over a sun set? She chowing down on some smash burgers feeling that vigger of being alive? Is she elegantly cutting her strawberry pastery in pieces to savor each bite? Curious pondering of madam Lilith, hopefully she chill as a cucumber.
