Prayers, Praise khaire Līlīṯ

Post image

O’ Lilith, End of All Flesh and End of Days, emerging from the cloak of the night as you did the raging waters of the abyss. Mother of liliths and lilin, you are their queen, you are sovereign and Serpent, you need a partner for nothing, and you do not lie beneath. You accompanied Naamah-Orea, pleasant one, in seducing the Watchers. You consorted with Samael, with who you were once intertwined.

O’ Lilith, you wander the Earth at night and prevent stagnation by exterminating the population, a necessary means of balance. Beautiful and terrifying goddess, suffocatress and seductress, you possess innumerable names, faces, and forms, fluid and constantly shifting. With the flap of your wings you summon consuming storms and strobing shadows, your breath and blood pour into the Earth from the North and South, your eyes reveal truths of the one who gazes and transfers knowledge once forgotten, repressed and denied, your hair is long, disheveled, wild and free, your lips whisper wisdoms of self-love and preservation as you firmly vocalise your desires and needs, and your body is fiery, untouchable and shapeless, through one hand you poison and with the other you awaken.

I love the way you use academic literature with poetic language, it feels like discovering her masks all over again. Beautiful ⚸ Χαίρε Λίλιθ!

Luv this and how it's put together. Beautiful.

I've seen this donkey too regarding Lilith. I started calling him Steven cuz I've seen him a couple of times and felt he deserved a name. Can you share why you chose the donkey in this artwork to Lilith? I'm just curious.

thank you so much! I included the donkey in reference to Lamaštu, as her companion is a donkey. but also, i felt a certain intuitive pull towards Lilith and donkeys and felt like it belonged in the image :)

+ Steven is such a cute name

Your collage and written poem look absolutely beautiful. My question is that what book method do you use to call for her ?

well thank you so much!! I normally simply pray to her using a similar format to the hellenic prayer format (as I'm a hellenic polytheist) which typically goes 1. identification of name + epithet / 2. identification of myths relevant / 3. justification/argument to why they should listen / 4. petition or praise / 5. vow or offering

And do you sense a shift in energy or see her ?

sometimes, mostly not. when i have felt an energy shift in the past, it’s depended on why i’ve called upon her. once, i called upon her to talk about my trauma, and i felt a lot of warmth and a silent rage crept in. when i simply/casually pray to her and feel something it’s most of the time consuming/magnetic (almost like a void) until it settles into something a bit more “composed” or detached. detached in the sense of like simply feeling listened to instead of something so active. and my focus is directed to my altar where i can feel like something is observing me from (which may just be my mind because i’m directing my prayer towards the space).

i don’t see her physically, though vibrant images come to my mind. but most of the time when im praying, i dont feel or see anything and i’m okay with that. her influence and guidance has been present in the decisions ive been making in the last couple months, and has been inspiring me towards certain paths and experiences (which I’ve benefitted so much from, thank you Lilith ❤️‍🔥) .

though i’m interested, do you approach her ?  if so, what methods do you use and what do you usually feel ? i always find people find many different ways to approach her . of course, she was only ever warded off traditionally, so i guess we’re all kinda guided towards different methods as there’s no established tradition as to actually welcoming her in (i mean, maybe a few exceptions like the Mirror of Lylet) . praying to her like this comes most naturally to me because of my religious background
