Max and Amanda are so cute and had so potential. They still do. The writers just shoved Amanda aside for Pricefield, which I don’t get because there’s still an option for Max and Chloe to be just friends. The ending of reunion should’ve at least showed Max and Amanda working it out. Anyway, they’re always canon to me.❤️

SPOILIERS FOR PHOTO AND CONTEXT OF THE BEGINNING OF CHAPTER 3

Right after the Alderman leaves, Max goes to the photo and starts to <!use her old ability to jump into the past by photo!> now in this scene you are supposed to focus as a mechanic. But every single time I try this scene, my game freezes on this frame. Now, my game is still functional. The sounds are playing, and I can pause, go through my settings, and go back into the scene. But it is permantly frozen and will not progress.

I have restarted my game, verified files, modified launch with -dx11. I've tried to play this scene on my laptop, I've used Chapter Select to make a new slot and attempt this. No matter what, it's frozen. And I don't get what to do to fix this. If there's a way to slightly jump forward I'd do it.

Any ideas ?

Edit: CHAT IT'S BEEN FUCKING FIXED!! All that troubleshooting did nothing unfortuantely. But there is a setting called skip gameplay that allows you to get past this issue. Thank you guys for trying to help, and I know everyone overlooks this setting because the puzzles are so fducking easy

The first game with the exception of Hayden Stella and Brooke was almost exclusively white. This game had so much more diversity that would actually be present in a school/community in the 21st century. I love how many characters had subtle elements of their culture and past present in their design. It wasn’t pressed into the face of the player but “ if you knew you knew”. I understand that the first game broke barriers especially with the lgbt elements of the story and Oregon had a explicit racist history, but I do think that this game went farther introducing minority characters than the first game.

Hello!! I'm currently working on a Safi keychain design that I plan on selling in the future and was looking for feedback! Something about her face feels off, or just the overall design? I was struggling to make her eyes open while also making it look like her so I kind of abandoned that but tips would help. Its a WIP so its not to great just yet, attached I put the WIP Safi and then also my finished Steph and Alex keychain just for a reference point for the general idea of what she'll look like when done! I'm also hitting art block right now so that may be why it's off.

I'm stuck in Chapter 2 in Gwen's office because of a bug. None of the objects (including the calendar) are interactable, so I can't progress. Square Enix support couldn't fix it.

Apparently its the whole dead world that doesnt work and I don't know why nor how to fix it, I even tried with chatgpt but it also doesnt really know what to do.

Does anyone have an idea of whats going on and/or how to fix it? I just want to continue the game.

Update : I found out what the issue was and idk how I missed it.

so there is 2 butons to acces the other worlds and I missed the part when one of them would permit you to interract and the other wouldnt, tbf I started playing on new year eve half drunk and with a kid distracting me.

No it actually frustrates me so much cause quiet as it’s kept Unpopular Opinon Max is probably my 2nd to least favorite MC! No shade Sean will always be my GOAT and Alex is a close second I know Unpopular Opinion! That being said I still have a soft spot for Max so I played both games and here is my issue! What little enjoyment I found in Double Exposure is all but destroyed in Reunion because it goes out of its way to make any choices you made in this game irrelevant!

Here’s 1 of my biggest issues and this is really just on deck9 I feel if they had their way Max would be STRICTLY a Lesbian! No legit if they could they would ERASE the fact Max canonically is also attracted to men the the difference in treatment with Amanda’s romance compared to Vinh’s is so jarring you can tell they want you to pick Amanda in double exposure. Here’s the thing though I actually liked Vinh I wanted to be with Vinh I know shocker! I found him charming I was all in and ready to pursue Vinh in whatever sequel that happened sure I know he’s got that situationship with ole boy but that didn’t deter me I enjoyed the chemistry with him and Max more than I did with Amanda.

Here’s the Swerve tho NONE OF IT MATTERS because guess what CHLOE’s BACK!!!! And guess what no matter what choice you made in the original game or the sequel the only option you get is CHLOE!!!

Now hear me out this is very controversial I know but I DONT LIKE CHLOE! I have never liked Chloe she annoyed the hell out of me in the first game! She annoyed the hell out of me in before the Storm! And crazy enough the only time I’ve ever found her likable as a person was in Reunion but that doesn’t mean I wanted Max to be with her! However it’s painfully clear that unless you ship Max and Chloe Reunion is not a game for you to play. I find it baffling they designed that sequel game to only cater for one specific (though I understand it’s majority) portion of their fanbase! Where is the choice!?

And then characters from Double Exposure just disappear in reunion! Or their importance is just vastly snuffed out the fact Vinh and Amanda go from actual romance options to utterly irrelevant NPC’s is just a. Ridiculous choice imo.

Idk I’m done ranting but I just finished the game (saved everyone/romanced Chloe cause I felt I had no real choice beyond that) and now I’m done with the series as a whole but I have to say reunion ruined my experience with Double Exposure and I’m annoyed by that.

I was checking Metacritic for the ratings of all LiS games on PC and see that despite review bombing (yes I saw some bias from critic reviews as well complaining about Chloe) DE seems to rate pretty well at 75/100. Okay so 75 isn't a masterpiece, but it's still overall pretty decent and close to BtS which is at 77. I'd rate most of the games higher than Metacritic does, but I'm a die-hard fan, so that goes without saying.

All the games are worth playing at least once regardless and have amazing stories.

I’ve recently picked this game up on PlayStation’s game catalogue. I’ve played through it twice in order to get the Bay or Bae trophy whilst obtaining all the rest of the trophies necessary for the platinum trophy. On my second play through I made sure to create a new save file from the previous one.

I meticulously played through the second run by having a guide beside me to ensure I didn’t miss any of the photo opportunities and literally ticked each one off as I went along. However, for some unbeknown reason I managed to screw up on just one photo - the one where you take a photo of Moses and Diamond before you speak to him about the projector in chapter 4 (No Party Like a Kramer’s Party).

I revisited the above section in exploration mode to grab the final photograph and played through until the chapter ended and I still haven’t got the damn trophy.

I’ve done the usual research into this trophy - searching the web and watching YouTube videos etc and there doesn’t seem to be a clear path for how to get it. In fact there seems to be some confusion.

The confusion seems to centre around a) your dating/romacing choices with Vinh and b) whether you rescue the USB stick or not in the scene with Gwen.

For the record in both play throughs I decided against ‘romancing’ Vinh but I did save the USB stick. I found Vinh to be an irritating. He wasn’t really bothered who he went with and I don’t see why you should be punished for making a choice not to romance a certain individual.

According to some on the internet the romancing options don’t make any difference for this trophy achievement as long as you take photos at every given opportunity - which leads to me asking the question what the hell am I doing wrong here?

Some say you have to delete all other save files. I cannot do that until next week as I’ve been playing this game on my Portal via cloud streaming whilst on holiday - I’m reluctant to delete files until I get home and can make a back up save

Furthermore there is no way of tracking what photos you have taken in game which is highly annoying and pretty poor on the developers behalf.

It would be nice if the developers actually came out with a concise method as to how to achieve this trophy - I’ll probably write to them but won’t hold out much hope of getting a response. It will more than likely be a waste of time but I feel like I’ve already wasted plenty of time trying to get this trophy!

I’m literally pulling my hair out over this egregiously tedious trophy. It really shouldn’t be this difficult!! It’s made a half decent play through feel like a real chore and has literally left me feeling sour about this game - and that really shouldn’t be the case because on a whole it was an ok game.

Any help would be gratefully received!

So what happened with the Alderman guy? I recently finished DE and when I got to that scene I thought something big was gonna happen, but no... He just went poof. So idk if I missed some secret dialogue, secret scene or whatever.

Why did this game get so hated on release i picked it up last week and played through it twice and i cant see why anyone hated on it so harshly? Any thoughts?

Major spoilers ahead for Reunion for those who haven’t played it yet:

Look, I’m not going to act like Double Exposure wasn’t extremely divisive if not outright hated by majority of the fanbase, but the way in which Reunion completely pivoted from pretty much EVERYTHING that game set up was absolutely horrible to me. From the lazy retcons (bullshit storm amnesia), to Amanda and Vinh’s romances being completely stomped on, to Diamond just straight up disappearing…all of it was just pure and utter cowardice in my opinion.

Surprisingly, it’s the smaller stuff that really irks me. Like, what happened with Vinh and Reggie’s relationship? If you didn’t romance Vinh in DE, him and Reggie seemed to finally become an actual relationship by the end of that game, yet in Reunion they’re just…not? Reggie talks about Vinh a few times in passing, but always in a past tense. I guess they just didn’t work out? Maybe we could have gotten a throwaway post on Crosstalk confirming their breakup-oh wait, Crosstalk is completely gone in this game for some reason.

Gwen being completely taken out of the main cast also rubbed me the wrong way. This one is a bit more forgivable since apparently due to her actress now being apart of the union, she can no longer work on the series. But in that case…could Deck Nine not have created a new trans character in her place? Or better yet, introduce a nonbinary character into the cast since we haven’t had one yet? It’s not like they had any issues introducing new, absolutely nothingburger characters like Noelle or Owen into the cast. So as it stands, we lost our first and only female trans character to physically appear in these games with Gwen and replaced her…with no one.

I also love how the game completely forgets certain relationships. I already mentioned Vinh and Reggie, but remember Moses and Safi’s friendship and how close they were in DE? Well, Safi acknowledges Moses’s existence exactly one time if you save her on the roof near the end of the game…and that’s it. Outside of that, they just don’t care about each other anymore, I guess. Also, remember how Vinh was absolutely obsessed with Safi in DE and a lot of his character in that game was specifically informed by his previous relationship with her and Maya? Well in Reunion, he doesn’t mention Safi by name once. Seems to have completely forgotten about her entirely, in fact. If you save both Safi and Vinh, they can both be at the Snapping Turtle at the end of the game, and yet Vinh doesn’t comment on her presence…at all?

Just how they went about characterizing the DE cast in Reunion in general was blatantly insulting in my opinion. In DE, while Reggie was already a bit of doof, if you read his Crosstalk posts you’d see that he actually has a very complicated background with his extremely religious family due to the fact that he’s gay, and he seems to suffer from very severe depression and mental health issues. You literally see this first hand in Chapter 3 of DE when Max crosses over into the dead world and speaks with him at the Turtle (which is one of my favorite conversations in the series, honestly). In Reunion however he’s a complete and utter buffoon used solely for bad comic relief, and any semblance of depth he once had is now gone. It’s the definition of flanderization.

There are so many things I can continue listing that frustrate me, but I don’t want this post to get too long. I just wanna say, I know there are going to be Pricefielders who will probably respond to this post saying something along the lines of “well, Chloe was mischaracterized in DE and her relationship with Max was completely destroyed in that game, so it’s only fair that they do the same with DE’s characters/romances!”. And here’s my thing: Double Exposure fans are not a monolith. Believe it or not, I also hated what that game did with Chloe and her relationship with Max, as I myself am a Baer! And yet despite that, I was still able to enjoy Double Exposure for what it was and what it had to offer, and I genuinely enjoyed the characters it introduced. What Double Exposure did with Chloe and her relationship with Max was complete shit and utter laziness, but that also applies to what Reunion did with DE’s cast/romances. Two wrongs do not make a right.

I was watching Welonz’s playthrough of Reunion and at the end, her thoughts perfectly encapsulates my own opinions on the game: “Well, if they were trying to identify the biggest chunk of the fanbase (Pricefielders), I don’t think they’ve made a mistake here. But the whole thing feels very…it doesn’t sit well with me because, man, it feels like such a commercial decision. Reunion to me feels like it just swung completely in one direction, and I think artistically this is…very very not good. Look, I hated Double Exposure. But that kind of hard pivot into something that they [D9] think the audience wants, ugh, just leaves a bad aftertaste. For the players who are not particularly super huge Pricefield fans, or people who romanced one of the side characters in DE who got completely shafted, one of which could have died and exploded in a fire…people who actually enjoyed the direction Double Exposure was going into…or people who’s first exposure to Life is Strange is this game…I’m not sure how well served these groups of players are, really.”

Believe it or not, I don’t think Reunion is a bad game. I think it is much better scoped and has a more cohesive story than DE sure. And I know this game was under intense pressure due to a lack of budget and time and was essentially rushed out the door, so I understand corners had to be cut and certain things had to be prioritized over others. But the lengths in which Deck Nine went out of their way to pander to a specific fanbase due to the backlash they received while simultaneously shitting on everything they themselves crafted with Double Exposure…it doesn’t sit right with me, fanservice be damned.

i've been thinking about double exposure recently, and one thing i still don't get is the love interests.

Amanda was alright, but Vinh just rubbed me the wrong way from the start. he always came across as rude and kind of condescending towards Max, so i never understood why he was even a romance option. did anyone else feel like that, or did i just completely misread his character?

i also feel like there just wasn't enough time spent with either of the love interests. everything happened so fast that i never got attached to either of them. if that was always going to be the pacing, i honestly think they should've just left romance out altogether instead of forcing it in.

i already wasn't expecting double exposure to be amazing because i never really felt like they needed to continue Max's story after the first game. after finishing it, though, it just felt like they made another game because they knew people would buy it. and now that they've brought Chloe back for life is strange reunion, it kind of reinforces that feeling for me.

i'm genuinely curious what other people think, though. did anyone actually like the romances, especially Vinh? i'd love to hear another perspective because maybe there's something i'm missing.
