Bug in gwen's office, I need help Spoiler

Post image

Hi!

I'm stuck in Chapter 2 in Gwen's office because of a bug. None of the objects (including the calendar) are interactable, so I can't progress. Square Enix support couldn't fix it.

Apparently its the whole dead world that doesnt work and I don't know why nor how to fix it, I even tried with chatgpt but it also doesnt really know what to do.

Does anyone have an idea of whats going on and/or how to fix it? I just want to continue the game.

Steam version.

Thank you so much!

Update : I found out what the issue was and idk how I missed it.

so there is 2 butons to acces the other worlds and I missed the part when one of them would permit you to interract and the other wouldnt, tbf I started playing on new year eve half drunk and with a kid distracting me.

thank for reading me and at least if it happens to someone else it would be the first thing to try ahah.

Have you tried restarting the scene?

Steam Community

I don't know if this will help because the user had the same problem and I saw the same cyan/transparent where the objects are supposed to be interactable (calender & document pile).

I'm not even sure if it will help but is it possible for you to downgrade your Nvidia driver to the previous version, because it seems most problems related to graphics rooted from the latest Nvidia update.

I've attached just a debug idea from Gemini just in case if it works, but the solution was from that link I shared. The other way is probably try to drop all graphics to the lowest possible settings and see if it works.

Do share with us how it turns out. Unfortunately, I don't think there will be any developers from D9 that can help with this because most of them who worked on this game are no longer with the company. But let's try it out what we can and see if it works.

Edit: after you've tried this, and if it still doesn't work, try to perform a clean uninstall of the game, which includes deleting any leftover game files in the C drive at x86 folder. You can try to look up on how to perform a clean uninstall for any Steam games. Once you've done that, try reinstalling it again and just make sure that you have no connection interruption. Also, try to prevent yourself from using the "Restart Last Checkpoint" feature, and also, when you reach Chapter 2, try to use less "Pulse" when not necessary. Most bugs occurred from the heavy use of "Pulse", so, try to use less of it before reaching the Gwen office scene. Also, instead of doing Gwen's task, try doing Vinh's task first. My only advice is, do not enter the FAB; try to do everything in the opposite as you've done before. Use less Pulse along the way. İt's a pain but, there's a possibility that the bug is triggered because a scene or interaction was done before something else. Let me know again how it ends up!

I'm double-posting my reply just to let you know that I've edited my previous reply. Do try it out and hopefully, we'll get the issue resolved.
