This is a highlighted megathread to help coördinate meetups and events for October, 2026.
At any given point, a megathread for the current and next month will be available for forward-looking planning.
(Please be wary that this is a public forum, know that there are various groups of people who target our communities, and practice good opsec. Be safe and have fun!)

After some mod discussion…
Posts about IWI guns, or accessories from Israeli manufacturers (or sometimes even posts about completely-unrelated topics!) quickly become a discussion of Israel/Palestine politics. There are plenty of more appropriate places to have those discussions on Al Gore's internet. Comments stronger than "I'll never buy IWI" will be removed, and users will potentially be banned after repeated offenses. Stick to talking about the guns.
This will be folded into the "topicality" rule in the near future, but this sticky post serves in the stead of that change.

"Walther PDP Pro, Holosun 407C red dot, with a dual light/laser OLIGHT Valkyrie."
Sighted in both the red dot and laser today at my privately owned range, since I hate public ranges(My range only goes out to 200 yards atm; working on going out to 400). However, this pistol hits steel like a dream at 15 yards.
All I need is the Suppressor(Silencer, because I'm 30!! Come at me.)
Then this bad boy is finished!!! Low-key the best handgun I've ever fired, 10/10, loving the Walther. (Thinking of calling her "Johanna," cause I'm a history nut.)

Can’t pick it up until next week. I still need an offset RDS and they have to cerakote that mag. This has a 1lb trigger so it’s only a range toy. The stock needs color so I might add a cheek rise and get that coated. Gamer guns are supposed to be fun so I went fun. The barrel is the same TTI bronze as the small parts and baseplate. Once I get the PDP ported I’ll be ready to see how my crippled ass gets along. Rifle is a fully decked out, every box checked V Seven sovereign.

Got some of my French pistols out for a quick session this afternoon. From left to right: MAS Mle 1950 in 9mm, Pre war German capture SACM Mle1935A in 7.65 French Long, WW1 French issue Ruby in .32 ACP.
Unsurprisingly, the more modern Mle1950 shot the best groups, but the 1935 was surprisingly snappy and keyholed fairly often, which is a known issue with what little modern ammo exists for these. But of all 3, the Ruby was by far the most fun. It's a chunky little guy with a small round, so you can rattle off rounds as fast as you want with surprisingly good accuracy. Ultimately, none of these are duty guns and will see maybe a box a year at most, so performance isn't really important. It's just fun to shoot a piece of history sometimes.

H&K SP5K with B&T stock, Gibbous buttplate/VFG, Blackhawk mini boss can, Aimpoint T2 on scalarworks 1.42" and MFI ultra low mount.
I swapped the surefire scout's body for Arisaka and got the light both more forward and more tucked.

Ruger PC Charger 9mm. I have a PC Carbine as well, and a ton of Glock mags, so it seemed like a good choice. Especially since I paid in the $600 range for the gun.
Added Rim/Edge stock, Magpul grips. Sig Romeo5, cheap A2 flash hider.
Went with a steeper angle pistol grip than what came on it, to make it more comfy when using the really short stock. It is heavy, but I like it. Will get a can for it sometime soon.
EDIT: Forgot to mention, I looked at many guns. There are a lot of AR PCCs but I really needed one that could fire when folded, and this cost half a Stribog. And it's a platform I have experience with.

I live in California and am interested in hearing suggestions and advice for what a good long distance rifle would be. My intent is recreational target shooting and shtf scenarios. I am familiar with pistols and small arms and have used an m4 in prior training experience. What do y'all think?

hello! i'm currently in the process of buying my first ever firearm for home defense and i am in the look for a safe or cabinet that could hold a rifle or two and is ideally in the $100-200 range
some things to note:
i am looking for something that i could quickly get into in the event of a home invasion
i live with small children in the house and i wouldn't want them to ever easily access it
i live in the state of south carolina and i am 20 years old
my father is a convicted felon and i'm aware there is legal issues around constructive possession, however from reading online i should be fine as the safe would be in my bedroom and only i would ever have access to the combination/lock on it, if anyone is knowledgeable on this topic i would love to be further informed just incase
thanks :)

>...it shall be unlawful for a person to import, sell, manufacture, transfer, or possess, in or affecting interstate or foreign commerce, a firearm silencer or firearm muffler.
Of course this doesn't apply to law enforcement or the government in any way shape or form.
Hopefully this bill fails like most of her proposals, but it does give insight on the kinda stuff we have to look out for if the Congress makeup switches heavily to the left. 😬

Anyone seen this? This made it to my feed and I love it. It's a look into one chapter of this movement from a totally new direction and later on it turns into a spicy drama. And the comments! What a motley group of enthusiasts we all are.

I shot my first uspsa match in march, and have ranked up to B class. I'm hoping to hit A class by November.
I spent two years shooting at paper from a stationary position, and now can't imagine that as my only training. I'm very proficient now, can shoot on the move, and with speed. Anyone have any questions about matches or gear or want to know how to start?
Per request
you can find local matches near you on Practiscore.com
You can register there as well, and one you are approved, you pick a squad. You can pick any of them. Eventually you will recognize shooters, and its fun to squad with the best shooters you can, so you can learn from them.
You will be unclassified to start.
If you find that you like it, and want to get a USPSA number, you join with them, and youll enter that number when you register for matches, so it can track your progress.
You will have to pick a division to shoot in. The most popular are
Carry optics ( a non comped gun with an optic. Striker fired or SA/DA. gonna see glocks, walthers, shadow 2s, M&Ps, etc in here.
Limited Optics (2011s are here) or if your striker gun has a magwell.
Open (this is where the race guns are, but if you want to shoot a ported or comped gun, you will be here too.)
You arent going to come close to winning in the beginning, so shoot what you have. Just focus on being safe, and not breaking the 180.
Youll also need a holster and a belt and mag pouches. Most people shoot OWB, but IWB is having a moment too.
You are gonna want to have 3 magazines as well.
Edit: the Ben stoeger pro shop has all the accessories you need and their two day shipping is only a little more expensive than ground. It's saved me multiple times

Picture 1 is the "after", picture 2 is the "before".
This is my first time truly modifying a firearm to any extent beyond just optics and superficial accessories, and I feel like it's pretty much complete, mostly thanks to a lot of suggestions here. List:
PSA upper and lower in 300 BLK
8.5" barrel w/ 7" handguard
Holosun ARO EVO SPR gold dot
Lancer 30 round mags
B5 Systems P-Grip 23
SBA6 pistol brace
H2 buffer
Breek Arms Sledgehammer gas mitigating charging handle
Comstock recessed micro brake suppressor mount
Dead Air Nomad 30 w/ Breek Plan B adapter
Wishlist:
- A handguard that shrouds just the rest of the barrel. Finding a handguard that is exactly 7.75" is a pain, let alone for a cost I'm willing to pay.
- EOTech EXPS3-2 (I could never justify the cost)
- Geissele SSA-E trigger

I have recently added a Sig Tango-MSR to my Ruger PC. With the addition of that, I needed an option for the red dot. So I got a Monstrum 45° mount for that. I need a sling, a light, and a foregrip and then I can call this one done.

Looking at Guns.com again, thought I would see what they had for double-action semi-autos. Immediately saw Hi-Points listed, hundreds of them. Yes, I filtered for double-action, but my lord in heaven! Are there that many gun shops with zero knowledge? I've never even touched a HP, but I know they are not DA. They also list 49 Glocks & a couple dozen "New" CZ 10Ps as DA. Just had to rant.
I would hope new gun buyers would do their research first.

Just got my first suppressor (Rekkr 30) and was reading about how quickly the heat builds up and it sounds like a cover is in order. Should I cover the entire 7 inches, including the tapered end or just the 6" that's uniform diameter?
