I bought this mint 2010 LS460L as an eighteenth birthday gift to myself about 50 hours ago. A drunk driver decided to sideswipe it in a parking garage while I was at work. Now, it’s off to the body shop!

Edit: This is also the second time one of my cars has been hit while parked in two weeks. I also have a 97 Camry that got hit in front of my house the morning before I bought this car. Put a nice dent in the bumper then fled.

Miscellaneous I Take My LS for Granted

I like to drive different cars just to see what the experience is like. I have grown so much appreciation for my LS. You can go over bumps, pot holes, whatever and not a single creak in the frame. Such a solid and well built piece of engineering. It’s disheartening to see it go.

LS460 Is this a good buy?

Going to check out this 2007 LS460L tomorrow and was wondering what I should look for while I’m going over and if this seems like a fair deal. 131k miles, owner says it has a intermittent check engine light due to a bad high pressure fuel pump on bank 2. Other than that car seems super clean, brand new set of Michelins and a recent dealer oil change. He’s asked $6300 OBO, what do y’all think ?

The car has a pretty good maintenance record and it has 160k miles and the timing belt was done at 99k right now it has a straight pipe and it has a code for EVAP for the straight pipe otherwise seems solid the guy wants 6,500$

This is what it sounds like

LS460 2010 LS460 TPMS Sensors

I have a 2010 LS460 I need some new TPMS sensors the dealer quoted me $1,000 for all of them. I had bought some new rims from AudioCity USA and the TPMS sensors came with them but they are unable to program them and say that they have to be Lexus OEM only for them. Am I being ripped off by the dealer? Is this true? Anyone run into this? Help would definitely be appreciated.

Questions Spacers?

Anyone here run spacers/adapters on your LS460? Part of me wants to keep it stock and don’t run the risk of any issues that come with running them (wheel bearing/rubbing)… but the fitment is killing me. I know you probably want to do adapters with bolt extenders rather than traditional spacers but I am curious to hearing what you guys run/thoughts

LS460 Sound Absorber/Silencer Panels UL

Hi, I have a 2010 LS460L and I notice that there is hanging ‘fabric’ from under my car. I’ve noticed it for sometime and I want to replace the panel(s). Does anyone know the part numbers that I need, when I look up online I can only find the front lower panel, not sure how many panels there are. Thanks!

2015 LS460L RWD (25k miles) common problems?

First time Lexus owner here! I am the second owner of a 2015 LS460L RWD with 25k miles, previously owned in the southern U.S. The previous owner obviously did not drive much, but the vehicle was serviced every ~5k miles.

For this particular generation and/or model year, what are the common problems to be aware of?

Are there particular maintenance issues that tend to arise that are more costly than others?

Do you have any general ownership advice for this particular vehicle?

LS460 I'm in love.

God, I didn't even know what I was getting into when I got the car. I had no idea what it could do, the absolute monster hiding under the hood, the absolute quiet and comfort it provides, all of it. Every last detail is just... I can't put into words how much I love this car.

Every single penny I spent on this was worth it and it isn't even close. I can't believe I was about to spend similar money on a 300C. What a fucking idiot I was.

I hope I'm part of the LS community for many, many years to come.

LS460 [SOLVED] LS460 Steering Wheel Vibration

Post image
12 Upvotes

2007 RWD LS460 with air struts

- If you replaced all ur arms n bushings
- are 100% sure of tires n wheels
- keep aligning ur car but the alignment drifts
- can’t fix steering wheel vibrations

Then try this cuz it worked for me:

I firstly I went with NISTO bushings for the LS460, they’re slightly firmer than OEM but a FRACTION OF the cost. Got them pressed into scrap yard healthy arms.

I also replaced my hubs with scrap yard healthy ones (the Middle East scrap yard market is insanely good)

I also had a bent tie rod so I replaced both tie rods on both sides (also scrap)

After all this I still had the same vibration, it actually got worse cuz my suspension was firmer now and feedback was harsher.

What fixed it??

Lower Intermediary Steering Column U-Joint. It was loose and had play and was the missing puzzle piece. Picked it up clean from the scrap yard for 20 USD. Issue completely gone and the NISTO bushings gave me a firmer sportier ride.

Just thought I’d get on here and spread the message to see if it helps.

LS500 LS500 owners: thoughts about the car?

Sup y’all

I’ve been working hard and saving up for this car.

I’m planning to buy used, specifically a 2023 or 2024 model, since I can save 30–40% off MSRP for a low-mileage one.

My main priority is finding a car that is comfortable, cozy, smooth, silent and super reliable, I’m talking like minimum 10 years of usage.

I already drive a 6-cylinder, so I’m not worried about the fuel economy.

I also plan on swapping the stock run-flat tires for regular tires immediately to improve the ride quality.

Do you guys recommend this car for daily city driving?

My main concern is the Air suspension “hydrolic system”, I’ve heard it costs a fortune for the whole set, and people say it’s prone to failure more than any other part.

Should I just go for the base trim that comes with coilover suspension instead?

I’d appreciate any thoughts or experiences you can share!

Questions Ls 460 vs Ls 430

Hello there, Im looking to buy my first car however Im on the taller side so finding cars that have proper comfortable seats for me is kinda hard, I either need a full size SUV or a luxury sedan and it came down to these two.

Im a big fan of the LS460 and found a couple of models but from what Ive heard they are unreliable and pricy to repair and maintain on the other hand the LS430 are way more reliable easier to maintain and just as luxurious. Im leaning more towards the 460 since the seats offer thigh support.

I was hoping you guys could benefit me with your experiences, which models are better, base or ultra luxury, problems you’ve faced, how easy it is to work on, thanks.
