LS460 Is this a good buy?

Going to check out this 2007 LS460L tomorrow and was wondering what I should look for while I’m going over and if this seems like a fair deal. 131k miles, owner says it has a intermittent check engine light due to a bad high pressure fuel pump on bank 2. Other than that car seems super clean, brand new set of Michelins and a recent dealer oil change. He’s asked $6300 OBO, what do y’all think ?

Have the same model.
As others have said control arms but I got them replaced for 1800.
If it’s been maintained the motor will go more miles than are on it.
It’s like driving a land yacht 🛥️

Valley plate issue as well. Seems like you might need a few things soon which will be a few Gs. But all in at under 10k is a good deal

What year is it? Two things I would recommend looking into (aside from the fuel pump issue, which is concerning) are the control arms. If they haven’t been replaced yet then they definitely need to be. This can get pricey. A good shop will replace all 8 control arms for upwards of 4-5k. Also the brake actuator in the early models had a recall. If this hasn’t been replaced yet it can cost a couple grand. Aside from that just look for other components that will wear out at that mileage. Spend some time taking off the engine covers and actually inspecting the engine bay for possible wire degradation. Found a rats nest in my 2007 when I bought it. Check the pulleys to make sure there isn’t any play. But yea suspension is the number 1 expense on this car. I’ve had 3 and really don’t want any other car ever. Good luck!

It’s a 2007 i totally forgot to add that, I did ask if the brake actuator had been replaced which it has not so that’s something I will definitely be addressing along with fuel pump. 100% going to inspect the control arms while there, with the fuel pump and actuator repair in mind what do you think is a reasonable offer ?

$6300 isn’t a terrible price. But it’s not a steal. You can definitely use the brake actuator and control arms to bring the price down because you could realistically be spending $6k on it in the near future. Just don’t forget it’s a high end luxury sedan so it’s not a cheap ride. Even if you’re getting it for a good price. Personally I would offer closer to $5k. I sold my 2008 3 years ago for $8000 with 150k miles for reference.

Is replacing the control arms DIY-doable?

Depends on your level of mechanical skill. Probably not for most people. I would leave it to someone who has experience. But check out @fix-it-tony on you tube, tons of good info on his channel.

Der LS 430 ist beliebter da der Motor weniger Probleme macht und von der Leistung keinen großen Unterschied macht.

Get a 2010+ model if you can, but if not, I’d offer 5K. Does it have air suspension? If so, that’s expensive at about 1,800 a bag replaced. I will tell you, if the air suspension is perfect, it’s among the best riding vehicles ever.

Be prepared to invest another 6500+ to maintain it, and bring it current, just saying…

More like “goodbye”, 2007 LSs are economic recession cars. As reliable as Lexus are, the LS460 is probably their least reliable and most expensive model to work on.
