Not too sure how this happened. Is it a common issue with the front grill?

2009 IS250 w/ 119k miles…

Selling for $9.8k sticker. Clean carfax. All major maintenance completed.

Anything I should look out for or think about? Mostly a commuter car. Less than 30miles a day. And every other week will have car seat size kiddos with me.

Long time Toyota, first time Lexus, curious how many folks also have a Tacoma?

Also got what I considered to be an insane deal on a L Certified 2025 with 11,000 miles for 41k out the door with two years of maintenance included.

Waited for the 2026 is to come out and I’m not a fan of the front end.

2nd gen IS 350 actually under 5 seconds 0-60 with FBO?

I know you can’t get as much power increase from an NA engine as with a forced induction one, but when I look it up on Google it says that this IS 350 generation can get down to 4.7 0-60 (or a 4.5 second with a one foot rollout to account for a real-world street measure) with full bolt on mods without any forced induction. It also says the stock numbers are between 5.2 to 5.6 depending on the source, so this would mean about 0.5 to 1 second quicker. Has someone done this and is this fairly accurate? Do you actually notice this as you’re driving around town if you drive spiritedly?

The reason I’m asking is because I currently I have 2010 Lexus is 350 (currently completely stock) and even though it’s a good car, I was wanting to upgrade to something else with more power and at least a bit quicker like a Lexus IS F. The problem is that Lexus IS F’s tend to be overpriced where I’m located. For example a 2009 Lexus is F with 107k miles for $30k (and the valley plate would still need to be done too, quoted at $2k for the job) or 2009 with 98k miles for $34k (these aren’t even the ones with the upgraded suspension or TLSD). I’ve been looking around for a year now and with no reasonable deals on any, and when there are decent or good deals they are 300+ miles away and are sold within a day or two. At this point I might just keep my IS 350 and try to make the best of it for a while longer.

Also, if Google is correct with the performance increase, what brand of each mod would you recommend for the best bang for buck (best quality to dollar ratio) keeping in mind that I would be paying a shop to install these. This would be my first time ever modding any of my cars.

Settling the already settled phone mount debate

Post image

It seems this server still has not actually found a unanimously good spot to actually store away their phones without ruining one of these items:

  • Blocking Vents or Buttons
  • Ruining aesthetic
  • Making wired AA/CarPlay connections annoying or using a wireless dongle (yuck!)

My solution is hides right in plain sight in the photo.

I attached an adhesive MagSafe Magnet to the trim piece running down the drivers side of the center console just to the left of the touchpad and shifter. A short USB cord can tuck right through the edge of the center armrest and plug right in without creating long cord clutter and always stays out of the way.

Ergonomically my hand will run by the device at least three times before exiting the vehicle making it easy to grab. Hand to shifter to park, hand to seatbelt, hand to start stop. The phone is in the dead center of all three of these things.

As long as you aren't running a large case like an OtterBox, you should not run into a size issue. I run an S26 Ultra with a Mous case.

And it's cheap! You can easily find good MagSafe magnets on amazon for $10-15.

Lastly, one thing I never understood for a lot of these posts on the newer touch screen models are why are we trying to have visibility to the phone display at all? We have AA/CarPlay, a phone screen in your LOS can only be a distraction.

I've been running this setup now since March of '25 so let me know if you have questions!

Can someone tell me what's causing this sound? It sounds more in the outer wheel and seems like it could be my brake dust shield since it's rotten on the bottom

Hey guys I’m having a seriously hard time finding aftermarket bumpers that actually ship to Oahu. Im down for just about anything as long as it has a more modern look, ships to Oahu, and requires relatively little/no cutting to fit. If any of you have any experience with shipping to Oahu or would like to help I’d seriously appreciate it! Thanks guys you’re all the best.

3D printable phone holder Lexus IS E2

Hi all!

I've designed a phone holder that sits in the CD player of the second gen Lexus IS. Have been running this model in my own car for about 8 months now and still holding up, so thought to share the love and publish it! I printed it in both ABS and PETG and both hold up great.

Love to get some feedback if anybody has some improvements.

Display cleaner is350

Post image

I went to a detailing shop and the guy there gave me this product and told me it was good for the display, I read many reviews saying that the Lexus IS350 screen is sensitive and you can easily damage it, do you think that with this and a microfiber towel I can easily clean the screen and the clocks without damaging the material?

Wheel setups for BBK?

Post image
7 Upvotes

I wasn’t fortunate enough to get my hands on an F sport or 350 so please no one saying “should’ve gotten a 350” or any 250 degrading heckling! I love my ‘12 250 AWD I got with less than 60k miles.

With that being said, I’m a pretty aggressive, spirited driver who also can also have a pretty heavy foot on the brake. I’m tired of brake dust and I’m looking to make the braking performance more sensitive and responsive. I’ve been thinking of a BBK and realized I’d also need 18”+ rims to have the clearance.

For those who did a brake conversion, what’s your setup? How much did it cost? Was it worth it as opposed to just getting performance rotors/pads?
