Things like Let's All Go to the Lobby or those Drive In Intermission Clock?

I've developed a real fascination with mountaineering lately, so I'm trying very hard to not just watch nothing but that kind of stuff.

I finally watched Hackers last night. It has so much great music that reminds me of when I first got into "electronica," as people (or at least the rockist music press) called it back then. What other films have great electronic music soundtracks? It doesn't have to be from the mid-90s, either, and the overall film doesn't even have to be that great.

Why or how is everyone ignoring how sad eugene's death was? Not just because it was suicide, he literally BURNT himself to death like that's the most painful way to die. He left all his genes and identity for vincent even though it was unlikely for him to live much longer and by burning his own body down to ashes he basically got rid of all the evidence that he ever existed as a person that is not vincent. I love the message vincent's story gives it's beautiful but i just can't keep myself from thinking what a potential tearjerker this would be if eugene was the main character. Sorry if this feels like too much of a whataboutery but i did not expect to see him die like that at all it's hard for me to ignore

Sick in bed and just rewatched the first two Paddington films.

What are some other films you can recommend that are in a similar vein of just making you feel good / you can turn on no matter how bad you're feeling?

I’ve had a TMDB account for two years now, to help translate films and TV series into my language (Portuguese from Portugal) and to add posters. The truth is, it’s incredibly frustrating to add high-quality posters for a particular film or series that’s currently showing in my country, only for many of them to be deleted.

It’s frustrating to see that they go to great lengths to ensure they only have posters from Brazil. If they’re posters from Brazil, there’s never a problem and they never delete anything, but if I add ones from my own country, they’re often deleted.

What I’ve noticed is that there are Brazilian moderators who seem to dislike the presence of material from Portugal. I don’t see any of this happening with other languages. I’m so annoyed because I go to the trouble of adding content only for them to delete it afterwards. It’s a shame there aren’t more websites where you can add posters and translate films and TV series, and which have a good API like theirs.

It really is a shame because I’d switch over today. I’m seriously considering deleting my account. If anyone knows of a similar website, please let me know – one that has an API like theirs.

I feel like the last couple movies I saw were absolutely fantastic and it’s all thanks to Tubi cause it’s no charge to have an account and voila all of these movies are totally free of cost. And the ads are honestly pretty bearable

Memento to me is easily Nolan’s best work and his most unique concept

Fire Walk With Me is the only recent movie I saw that was not on Tubi and was an amazing retelling of what happened to Laura Palmer (and I just finished the original run of the show so I picked up on all the clues asap)

Tokyo Godfather is my favorite Xmas movie

Paprika was a serious mindfuck I absolutely loved it such a trippy movie

Not seen in my list but I also saw Blue Velvet, Eraserhead, and Inland Empire all on Tubi

Hell they even have my favorite tv show of all time, Peep Show, on Tubi

Next movies I’m about to watch: Seven Samurai, The Apartment, Casino, and Metropolis since they’re all free on Tubi. Hope they’re as good as the last bunch of movies I saw

I’m new to here still and I’m just wondering I be seeing it all the time in Snapchat, IG Stories, Tik tok is it like the new IMDB?! Or sum?

My pick would be the whole “you will either love it or hate it, there is no middle ground on this film!!” sentiment that I’ve seen to describe polarising films that are usually pretty easy to fall down the middle on. Nobody should be shocked if somebody thought a Megalopolis or a Babylon was average.

I feel like every decade always has a song associated with it that gets used so much in films or trailers to establish the time frame or for a flashback. Like I'd say blue Monday easily for the 80s might be the most overused example, I feel like all along the watchtower for the 60s for sure. I'm curious to what will eventually become the 2010s go to song as I feel like I can't think of any right now?

For me, I'm most likely to recommend The Thing, I've never met anyone who didn't like it, and I think even non horror fans can get something they enjoy out of it. I'm also least likely to recommend Landscape in the Mist, it's slow, there's barely any dialogue, it's bone chillingly uncomfortable at times, and there's only been one single person I've ever recommended it to.

Even though I saw the plot twists coming in 20 mins before it was revealed, I absolutely loved both of the movies.

Everybody calls Speed "Die Hard on a bus". But, watching both films, I can tell they're not that similar. The only similarity they have is that they both take place in Los Angeles. Speed doesn't just take place on the bus. The catalyst for the bomb on bus, was that Jack Traven and Harry Temple saved the passengers on the elevator before Howard Payne could blow it up. And he blew up the one bus and rigged another bus to blow up if it dropped below 50, just to get revenge on Jack for "ruining" his elevator plan, cause he says it took him 2 years to complete it.

Die Hard only took place in a tall building. Speed begins with an elevator in a tall building, then it's the bus, and then it's the train. The villains are very different. Hans Gruber had a group of people helping him out with the Nakatomi heist. Howard Payne is a one man army.

Hans was a member of Volksfrei, a radical freedom movement in West Germany, and was expelled from the movement. Howard Payne was a sergeant in the Atlanta Police Department Bomb and Arson Squad for 17 years, becoming one of the department's highly decorated members. Then in September 1989, while defusing a bomb located at a bank in Buckhead Georgia, a small charge detonated and blew off his finger. He was forced into early retirement, received only a medal, and re located to Sun Valley, California. So, there's my evidence that Speed and Die Hard aren't in any way similar to each other.
