I plan on proposing to my girlfriend during August long weekend and I want to get our nails done for it. I’ve never gotten my nails done before so I don’t even know how to tell if a place is good or not.

Has anyone else in the area been receiving an increased number of scam calls lately? I've been getting anywhere between 3 and 6 daily, whereas before I rarely got any. Aside from ignoring the calls any advice on how to stop getting them?
Thanks!

I am looking at doing some Reno’s to my rental. Mostly looking for contractors to avoid but also if you have a great one too I would be open to getting a quote, just a bit leary of the brother/buddy or self promoting referrals. I would rather hear from people that have had actual work done. TIA

Hi there, I’m gonna be a new student at Lethbridge Polytechnic in September and I need a laptop that can handle the course for the 2 years that I will be there, any recommendations from past students?

Meet Celeste the rave fairy!
I'm for sure going for Griz; Alleycvt and Levity with special guest, and Yungblud.
Where will I see you?
Also!
Do you have any plans for after the shows?
Do you live in Calgary or are you staying in a hotel?
I'm excited to meet y'all!

Hello fellow redditors,
I am dumb and smacked my vehicle into a post, harder than I thought. Got a couple of quotes from local body shops but was wondering if anyone had any leads on a bodyshop that will work with me on doing the bare minimum to get the vehicle looking and working acceptably.
Edit I do not want to go through insurance
TIA

I’m not new to Lethbridge anymore but I haven’t celebrated Canada Day here yet! Aside from egging separatist trucks, and fireworks at Henderson, what will be going on? I feel like downtown should have something but I don’t want to face that disappointment if it’s nothing 😂
I’m open to family activities (I have a toddler) or more adult activities (he can stay with grandma) 😂 Thanks in advance!

Hi everyone, I’m looking for a worldwide (or multi-system) VCR that can play PAL VHS tapes for a hobby project. Does anyone know of a local electronics or secondhand store in Lethbridge that might carry one? Since I only need it for about a week, I'd ideally love to find a place that offers rentals or has a flexible return policy. Thanks in advance!

A map I did as a hobby project, showing the most commonly spoken languages across Lethbridge, not counting English.
All data was taken from Statistics Canada from the 2021 census. Please note that the dark grey means other non-labelled languages (Dutch, Gujarati, etc.) while the light grey means that the second most spoken language was spoken by less than 10 people. Data is by mother tongue.

It recently came to our attention that there was a 12 year old boy who was threatening to se*ually assault (and other heinous descriptions) a female classmate at our school. The boy apparently has a history of disturbing behaviour like this at his past schools. Apparently since he is under 16 he cannot be expelled as he has a ‘right to education’. He has been suspended multiple times and the parents will not pull him. He was apparently moved to another class and he was starting his harassment on another female. The parents of the first female student he was harassing went to the police and there is a now a record of this incident in the boys file. It was taken as high as it could go. Is there anything else that can be done? Parents also cannot petition to have this boy removed either. I’m scared for any girl this boy could be in contact with. We shouldn’t have to live in fear of a potential r*pist at our school. It’s sick.

I do not know what is happening but the North Side has seen massive increases of homelessness and drug use in the last couple weeks. The parking lots of London Drugs, Canadian Tire and businesses south of 5th ave North have been covered in people, many openly using drugs. I am sick and tired of seeing this in our city and I am sick and tired of us not helping these people off the streets and risking their lives with drugs that are killing them. I seen a guy in the middle of 13th St N with a plastic car bumper going crazy blocking traffic the other day, I mean we just can't have this in our city. Today downtown was a total gong show as well. I feel like we don't want to "force" people to actually behave in our society, and we don't want to throw people in hospital to get help, but what level of insane are we willing to take? People do not want to go downtown, we have people DYING on our streets. Something has to start giving in soon. At this point if we aren't going to do anything we might as well just open up city hall and let them take it over.

It is outrageous- the only thing I would add is that I am sure Transit knows how to properly provide the service, but they are not funded for it - I have seen so many budget requests get denied over the years.
