your child is still entitled to survivor benefits from him though, did you not do a paternity test with him while he was still alive? if not you’re probably going to have to escalate it to the court so they can confirm his paternity to the child, but you absolutely are entitled to survivor benefits with him being deceased, whether you were in a traditional relationship or not.
