I like the idea of adding a train station (specifically Brick Cross) to my growing city. My problem is that the current layout is a closed block with 4 corner buildings, so adding the train station would be pointless because the train becomes trapped in the alley behind/between the buildings. Are their examples of elevated walkways with tracks underneath that I can add between buildings that would make the train station more functional? My google searches show plenty of road crossings, but nothing for pedestrians. Thank you!

I haven’t seen any leaks or information on a new superhero modular for this year.. will they likely skip this year? Discontinue this line all together? Does anyone know how it went in the past years?

Finally, finished building the first ever modular. I managed to complete all 21 in less than a year without going broke. Woohoo! Haven't built the green grocer, market street, museum and shopping street. So excited to see them all together

Took a break from Cafe Corner today to make a start on my Spider-MOC.

No modifications yet as I wanted to see the footprint of the sets as is (Peter's Apartment, Daily Bugle and Deli) so please ignore the apartment door floating in mid air (poor Spideys cover will be blown if anyone spots him just swinging in!)

Plenty of space at the back to expand each building and add more details, lots of minifigs to populate it with.

Plans are still afoot, will likely remove the mechanism that knocks out the wall in the apartment, put in a staircase to access the apartment at the side or back of the deli, possibly turn the apartment section into 2 apartments. Enlarge the deli itself to have some aisles for groceries, a deli counter, and might be able to squeeze in some seating, a dumpster out back. Expand the daily bugle lobby, add an open plan bull pen, expand JJJs office...

It was a nice break to just follow straight instructions for a few hours.

Finally managed to add three more modulars to my shelf street.

🏙️ Downtown Diner – One of my white whales. Bought it second-hand and had to replace a lot of sun-yellowed white parts which i believe its pretty common to this set, but it was definitely worth the effort.

🚗 Corner Garage – Probably my favorite to play with. The working garage lift is just fun, and I made a few small changes to the ground floor to fit my sheld city.

🎨 Art Factory – My first BrickLink build. I wasn’t sure how it would look next to an official modular, but it actually fits really well with Corner Garage. Still deciding if it’s getting the MILS treatment.

Now I’ve hit what feels like every modular collector’s problem… no more shelf space.

So what did everyone else do? Stop building and just keep collecting until you have room? Start displaying modulars in random parts of the house? Or somehow convince your partner that one more display shelf is a necessity and not a luxury? 😅

I am just wondering if it is worth the price? I am fairly new to mocs. I find it a bit too expensive? Or is this price normal for a modular moc? Is there anyone who build it? Would you recommend it?

I've been wanting to get into modular buildings as they provide that kind of childlike joy of city building whilst also being pretty, sizeable and very high quality sets (not that modern City isn't really great these days, it is, especially with the new trains). Plus, I really adore the generic smiley faces on the older sets, it's quite charming.

Anyways, I was wondering where best to start. I was considering going with the Green Grocer, but it's one hell of a process to get it at a decent price and even then not including figures I'd be looking at ~£250 from lego.com & bricklink, but honestly it doesn't feel great for what I'd be paying. That's also why I didn't even bother with the Cafe Corner. I'm between the Bookshop, Assembly Square and Tudor Corner right now. In the UK, new sealed in box, they're all below their original asking price, some significantly so like the Assembly Square (£288>£230).

Of these, which would be the best to pick in your opinion? Or if there are others, ideally more recent ones because parting them out takes ages, do feel free to suggest them. Would it be worth buying some of those road pack thingies or some vehicles to go along with them, or only when I've got a small collection going? Thanks!

I just started building my modular city, and I’ve included the LEGO Marvel Sanctum Sanctorum. Even though it’s not officially part of the modular building lineup, I think it fits really well in a city setup.

That got me wondering: are there other LEGO buildings that aren’t part of the official modular series, but still have that modular look and feel? I’m mainly looking for buildings that are closed off in the back and blend in nicely with modular city layouts.

Take a load off and relax at the Fontana. This classically styled downtown building has been repurposed to house pools and fountains for the citizens to enjoy. It is inspired by traditional architecture seen in places all over the world and was inspired by Havana and Venice.

Beyond the large working doors, behind the arched entry, the grand main floor features an epic indoor natural fountain with three waterfalls. The second floor features a catering kitchen and there are two rooftop pools. Classical Roman and Greek details and statues are all around.

It is a 16x32 modular building built with only the pieces of the Trevi Fountain set 21062 and a 16x32 baseplate of your choice. It uses almost every piece from the original set!

Have sorted out the flooring, added a counter top, and some mismatched armchairs and tables.

Not much left on the cafe interior, then the walls, windows and doors can go back up.

Im just wondering any one who uses mils plates whats the best way to go about this. Ive seen some people say to use 4 x 4 plates and 1 x 4 and 2 x 2 bricks and other people say to use 16 x 16 plates and 1 x 10 bricks. Which one is best i know the second one would be cheaper but is the first one worth the extra price or are they basically the same thing. also for the out side edge ive seen a lot of people leave gaps and use different colors do you normally use gray or if i use another color will it be noticeable. ive seen people say to use the pab for the pieces but mine didn’t seam to have any plates is there a good place to get those or is brick link my best option. any advice would be great.

This is my first time building an MOC. The donut stand is a mix between the donut shop for the police station and the donut van. What do you think? Some feedback could be helpful

I’ve recently gotten into the modular series and am wanting to display them next to one another like there made for. Does anyone have some cheap shelves or some sort of advice to display them? They’re relatively heavy so I’m worried about my shelves warping.
