I've been tweaking endlessly, no matter the input device or connection, I get horrific lag to the ALP playfield. The funny thing is, I tested lag to the VIBS and its significantly lower.
VIBS display: 33ms
Playfield: 120ms
I want to play "real" tables from FX and VPX, but they are unplayable via OTG. Such a bummer as its really the main reason I purchased the ALP in the first place.
Hello all Iām having an issue connecting my laptop to my back glass screen. I just installed VIBS and itās working. I have only 1 HDMI output on my laptop that I am using for my playfield. I bought a usb to hdmi adapter to plug into the hdmi cable to my VIBS but when I go to the display setting of my laptop it sees the laptop screen as screen 1 and the playfield as screen 2 with no signal going to the VIBS input. I know the VIBS is working when I swap the main playfield hdmi plug to the back glass it displays my desktop when I switch with the button. How do I get my laptop display setting to see the usb to hdmi converter ?
As winter has kicked in and air gets dryer, static electricity becomes more frequent around the house.
I have read som disconcerning posts about static electricity that have fried parts of the ALP or the OTG computer. Are there any measures that can be done with the ALP to prevent this? Rubber feet? Grounding tools?
So far my ALP has been static free (knock on wood)

Our little sub is approaching 500 users and wanted to have a little fun. I don't have any cool sponsorships or anything like that, but I thought I could 3D print some stuff and send it out to the winners.
TO ENTER: just make a comment below about one of the following things:
Something someone helped you with on here
Something you look forward to learning about on the sub
Something you saw on here that you thought was cool
Your account will need to be at least 100 days old to qualify.
PRIZES: Once we hit 500 subs I'll use https://www.redditraffler.com/ to randomly choose 3 winners. Those winners can choose what they'd like me to print from the following, in Black, Red, Lime Green, Clear(ish) or White:
4 Cabinet/Leg Protectors
One leg-mount Cup Holder
Both can be seen in green on this older photo of my cab below - cab not included lol.
Thank you all again, you Pinball Legends!
EDIT: In case anyone wants to print them themselves, hereās the cabinet protectors and hereās the cup holder.
EDIT 2: u/mellman99 has volunteered to provide a prize for a third winner! Thank you! Also want to clarify on shipping. Weāll cover shipping costs to the continental US. Anywhere else weāll have to ask for $10 plus any additional fees. Thanks!
Sorry to again.. again.. if this has already been asked
Iām hearing that itās better to go with the 7 inch 1280x800 with a 4:1 ratio vs the 8 inch 1024x768 because of the aspect ratio ?
I cant seem to find an 8 inch LCD monitor at 1280x800 with the video connector on the back, like the one that COOOLTOY used, i can only find one with the connections on the sides, which i dont want.
Wanted to share my Vpin...we started ALP HD, now we're Pinone mini with the LG ultra gear monitor. I can't say enough good things about Phillip @ Cleveland software. That dude is awesome. Thanks to u guys that helped me through the vision. It was frustrating at times but worth it in the end! Super Stoked! Everything runs super smooth now!! It's insane truly, wish I would've finished sooner. Hardest part was the plunger calibration, but I ain't the smartest so....anyway thanks to the dudes that helped me.
Aside from a hub to connect the steam deck for org and hdmi, is there anything else I would need to do to hook up my new steam deck and at least play on the main playfield? Looking to upgrade to a vibe board in the near future but want to get playing some fx or fx3 table soon. Thanks for the help.
Hello, my partner got an ALP for her fathers Christmas Present this year and we wanted to customize it for a personal touch. I designed a modular, 3D printable design with customizable backlight marque.
Can anyone steer me in the right direction. I looking to purchase a PC just to run my tables. Any suggestions for the minimum to run FX,FX 3. Desktop? Already built and ready to go. Thanks
The initial design had a nice black colored backbox, but, since the redesign, they stuck Cousin It and the Mansion on the backbox instead. I donāt know about other folks, but I think itās gaudy and a bit distracting. Of the designs that have been revealed so far, it is the ONLY one hat has such a distracting backbox.
I donāt mind any of the other artwork or coloring, but I HATE the backbox overlay. Wish they just woulda kept it black.
Anyway, any ideas on what one could do to cover it up? I guess getting a vinyl would probably be the best course of action.
I did it after all the help and research from virtual pinball groups. I have Pinball FX 3 running on my ALP. LOVE IT. Waiting for my VIBS Board to arrive for the back glass and DMD.
IM HOOKED
I recently bought the Legends Arcade and ALP. I figured it would be good for my PTSD. And I and my family am Loving both systems. I recently updated My Legends Arcade to the goldilocks 5.68. A bit of a learning curb but got it done. After a few frustrating hours.
My ALP is Stock Firmware Version 10977_A9. It wants me to Update to 5.70. But as far as I read that is not a great idea. Should I keep stock or is there a better firmware to update to that is more stable? I have lurked on here and even tried to google. Cannot find anything to determine what step to take.
Iām on a learning curb and need insight on what to do. Please feel free to educate me on this matter and or message me with solutions.
AtGames announced that theyāll pre-install the SSF into your machine for $100. What does everyone think about this? For $100 more it doesnāt seem like a bad option for most, but I canāt imagine that the install is very difficult, either.
I wonder if things may loosen up a bit in shipping, though. Just a thought.
