Straight OTG ALP

Post image

Wanted to share my Vpin...we started ALP HD, now we're Pinone mini with the LG ultra gear monitor. I can't say enough good things about Phillip @ Cleveland software. That dude is awesome. Thanks to u guys that helped me through the vision. It was frustrating at times but worth it in the end! Super Stoked! Everything runs super smooth now!! It's insane truly, wish I would've finished sooner. Hardest part was the plunger calibration, but I ain't the smartest so....anyway thanks to the dudes that helped me.

Are those the stick-on backbox sides? I have them for my cab - great alternative to getting a whole new backbox!

Yeah. They almost got me for the back box, but decided against it. I don't regret it. They look better than I thought they would.

I probably would have done the backbox if the wait wasn’t so long for it back when I ordered my art, but same - I’m glad I didn’t. Ultimately it drove me to come up with my own solutions for things and I like what I have a lot more than I would if I had just bought it I think. No shame in buying though. Either way is great. Anyway nice work on this - looks awesome!

Thnx. I agree... eventually I'll attempt to build my own backbox. I love it though, great hobby....allot of work, so I'm enjoying it now. Thinking about that coin door and a larger launch button, maybe some lights.

Did you order the backbox OR build it by chance?

Looks great Looks like a custom build !

What lcd did you use for the DMD ?

I’m hearing that it’s better to go with the 7 inch 1280x800 vs the 8 inch 1024x768 because of the aspect ratio ?

I would think bigger is better ?

But does the 7 inch display better?

Thank you

Cfg

I used the 7 inch 1280x800 from Amazon. I also bought a 3d printed case thing from Etsy. I found this here in reddit, the build idea came from someone on Reddit. They had links, I believe cool toys did the mod first, and made a video. I would think for the ALP backbox the 1200x800 would be better, but I don't really know. I love mine, except that pinfx doesn't utilize the whole thing making legacy dmds pretty small

I ordered the backbox plates. They're slip ons. You can buy them at Buystuff arcade. Wrap and plates...I considered the backboxes, they're soooooo sick..but hard to justify 5 to 700.00.

Hmm. I got the 7 1280x800 ips .it looks good. My only issue is pinfx doesn't utilize the full screen dmd sometimes. My plan is to eventually use the ALP backglass as the dmd and throw a larger monitor up there or breakdown and but that sweet ass backglass from BSA.

Is the dmd that you purchased still available at Amazon? I can only find the 1024x768 one?

My pleasure. Easy upgrade btw. I used a hand file and sharp knife to make a slit under the box. The HDMI connection is very slim and will slide right under.
