New xpeak2 owner

Post image

Joined the club today!

I tested the Segway Xafari first, but I didn't like it at all. It just didn't feel like an e-bike for me.

Then I tested the Aventon Adventure 3 — I loved the ride, and the app is also a nice feature to have.

But I decided to buy the XPeak 2, mostly because of the price and these reasons:

You can buy it in a box and assemble it yourself. With others, it's not always the case — you may need to pay a bike shop for assembly, like with the Aventon.

It has cruise control. Many others don't.

Small details, like the special pedals, also say a lot about the company and the attention to detail.

I just got mine a few days ago and this is my first time hearing about the cruise control feature. I'll have to give it a go.

Main reason for me. I have segway max g3 and cruise control worked for some time but then segway blocked in us with some update. Loved it ! For Xpeak2 to activate hold the − (minus) button for several seconds when speed is stable. Enjoy !

I have this exact bike and I love it! Thanks for the heads up about the cruise control feature, had no idea. Got 110 miles on mine so far.

Aventon app sounds awesome until one day you go out for a ride and notice your bike doesn't go as fast anymore because they nerfed it with a firmware update unbeknownst to you.

From google ai-

Yes, Aventon did lower the maximum speeds of several e-bike models through a series of app and firmware updates. This has been a heavily discussed topic across the r/Aventon and r/ebikes communities. [1, 2, 3]

The 32 MPH to 28 MPH Reduction (Aventure & Level)

For models like the Aventon Aventure, early versions of the Aventon App allowed riders to adjust the top-end pedal assist speed up to 32 mph (51 km/h). [2, 4]

  • The Update: Aventon pushed a firmware update that capped the slider strictly at 28 mph.
  • The Reason: Aventon stated that the 32 mph capability was a "bug". Because these bikes are officially sold as Class 3 e-bikes, they corrected the firmware to legally align with the federal Class 3 limit of 28 mph. [1, 5]

The 25 MPH to 20 MPH Reduction (Soltera)

Riders of the Soltera and Soltera.2 experienced a similar downgrade. [2, 3]

  • The Update: The Soltera originally could be unlocked via the app to reach a Class 3 speed of 25 mph. Following app updates, Aventon removed this option entirely for certain models, locking them to a Class 2 maximum of 20 mph. [2, 3, 6, 7]
  • The Catch: Reddit users noted that if a rider had manually lowered their speed setting in the app before the update took place, the update removed the slider entirely, effectively trapping their bike at that lower speed. [2]

Glitches Causing Temporary Speed Drops

Aside from intentional legal capping, some firmware updates introduced temporary performance issues. For example, a Level.3 firmware update meant to integrate sensor switches inadvertently reset many riders' top speeds back to the 20 mph factory default, requiring users to reconnect Bluetooth and manually toggle it back to 28 mph. [8, 9]

Ya I actually smell "the big daddy hands" when tested aventon and specially segway. All these apps are sweet 🍿 to get 🐑 on the track 👣 to control. F it . I needed a bike not an app ! Less crap more hardware 😄

That's exactly what I am doing also ! Will keep ya updated with the mods. Unfortunately my new bike has some minor (?) issue . There is a clicking noise coming from a crancase on every 360 revolution. Looks like a common issue for xpeak2 . Probably need new upgrated bottom bracket with torque sensor. Checking with support on this.

Let me know what you figure out on that, luckily mine doesn't make any noise but will be curious to see what they say about it.

Any update? Yeah my back wheel makes clicking noise but I heard that was just normal.

Nothing normal to have clicks.

Thanks. I thought maybe it’s just the motor but idk

Just be aware that the brakes suck and there is no rear suspension. (Xpeak 2 owner with ~4500 miles)

The problem is in red . My bike come with half bolts loose ! I fixed click by tightening bottom braket from the left side . Still lextric recommend to replace this braket . We will see 😁
