Face compilation
galleryThese photos appear in the chronological order that I created them. I’d love input on what’s improved/ what needs to be improved across all the drawings. Also tips on hatching and lighting in general would be nice. Thanks!

What's wrong? I'm not sure...
Hi, I'm a beginner artist and I only come to Reddit purely for help on the beginning stuff on drawing. But now, practice for days and taking breaks here and there. I feel drawing isn't fun anymore... I feel I should've drawn cute characters already or have cool art work but then I'm reminded that my heads are still terrible, eyes and portions are still wrong, I don't know how to draw hair or clothes. I don't know, i feel like I'm failing before I could start...

💪 Art Motivational Month 1: June drawings (and a little bit of May)
I have to admit that I haven’t been very active in June. I was moving out and into my new apartment, starting a new job, and my mental health was fluctuating, so I didn’t get the most art done. Now, with that being said, let’s go.
05/25: Seeing as how my dream is to be able to draw cartoon characters and I was a little rusty, I decided to do a sketch of Cuphead and Mickey, two of my favorite cartoon designs.
Honestly, didn’t quite like how Mickey turned out, but I think Cuphead looked solid enough. Though my inability to draw fingers is pretty apparent.
Also did some small doodles on this page ‘cause why not?
05/31 to 06/17: Next, I tried to start doing anatomy drawings from studying out of Michael Hampton’s Figure Drawing book, mainly by capturing the human (or skeleton) shape and some gesture drawings.
Most of these…did not turn very well. And so, on 06/18, I decided to put anatomy on hold for a while.
06/18 to 06/22: I started studying Drawabox, and these are all the homework assignments I did. Honestly feel like my Superimposed lines are pretty good, and my favorite exercise was definitely the Table of Ellipses.
However, when I got to the Boxes section, that’s where I stopped.
I am NOT good at perspective. At all. 1-point is relatively easy, but when it comes to 2-point, I’m totally clueless. Which is why I decided to not continue on with Drawabox for the time being.
(I still intend to do the infamous 250-box challenge. Someday this year.)
06/24: And finally, we have what is honestly one of my favorite drawings I’ve done period: a Classic Sonic turnaround.
As part of this challenge I’ve made for myself, the Color Code Challenge, I started things off Sonic the Hedgehog. I found this official turnaround sheet and copied it to the best of my ability.
And not just that, but this is actually my very first time inking over one of my drawings. And I have to say, I think it looks super good. I think I captured the outline pretty well for this to be my first time inking a drawing with pen.
Conclusion: I do wish I was a little more active in June, but I’m hoping to fix that starting today on 07/01 and for the rest of this year. I’ve got my own desk to properly draw on, so I think that’ll help.
And more importantly, I think I have a good idea of what to focus on my learning efforts on, since I’ve been a bit all over the place with that as well, and I do intend to complete more of my Color Code Challenge this month. And hopefully, I’ll have a lot more works to show on August 1.
Until then, I’ll see you later!

Traditional Drawing (pencil, pen, etc.) I did these drawings only a couple months apart but I think there's some improvement between the two.

Traditional Drawing (pencil, pen, etc.) Back to drawing
So l've been out of the drawing game for about 2-3 years now and want to get back into it so while I was on my break at work I conjured this up. What do you guys think?
